Harry Potter and the Great Old Ones
Chapter 51
Chapter 51
Professor McGonagall was followed closely by Snape and Flitwick, while Quirrell walked timidly at the back.
Quirrell glanced at the troll before letting out a weak sob, collapsing backward onto a toilet seat, clutching his chest tightly.
Snape bent down to look at the troll. As soon as he entered, he noticed the troll's head covered in burns and its neck had an abnormal cut that, although healed, was still visible.
Professor McGonagall stared at the four young wizards.
Tierra noticed that Professor McGonagall's lips were deathly pale and she was trembling all over. Her cat-like eyes seemed to be simmering with immense rage.
"What kind of tricks are you playing?" Professor McGonagall asked again, her voice filled with cold anger. "You four are lucky you didn't get killed by it. Why don't you just stay in your dorms?"
“Professor McGonagall, it’s like this…” Tierra was about to tell the whole story, but of course, he had to hide the truth from himself, because in his view, it was perfectly normal for children to have conflicts.
Anyway, since Harry has accomplices, the school is unlikely to actually expel them.
But Hermione stepped forward from the corner and spoke first:
“Professor McGonagall, it’s me! I’m here to find the troll because I… I thought I could handle it on my own, you know, because I’ve read about them in books and thought I knew them well.”
Tyella couldn't help but look at Hermione with newfound respect.
Seeing something in a book or movie is one thing, but actually encountering it in real life is quite another.
Hermione's courage in risking expulsion to cover for Tyella is truly commendable.
You should know that for Hermione, being expelled is a punishment worse than death.
Hermione Granger told a teacher a huge lie? Ron stared at Hermione in astonishment.
"If they hadn't caught me, I would definitely be dead by now. Tierra... and Harry and Ron, threw Tierra's new, newly developed flashbangs, and George Weasley's new developed flashbangs, at the troll. They didn't have time to look for help, because there was too little time. When they arrived, the troll was about to swallow me whole. So Tierra threw a few flashbangs at the troll's head first. That's how she saved me from the troll."
Harry and Ron tried their best to act as if they were already familiar with the story.
“Oh…if that’s the case…” Professor McGonagall gazed at them, pondering. “Miss Granger, you silly girl, it’s good to have a thirst for knowledge, but how can you think you can handle a mountain-sized monster all by yourself?”
Hermione lowered her head. Harry couldn't say a word. Hermione was the least likely person to break the school rules, yet now, to help them get out of trouble, she was lying and saying she had broken the rules.
It's like Snape started handing out Halloween candy – it's unbelievable.
“Miss Granger, Gryffindor will lose five points because of this,” said Professor McGonagall. “I’m very disappointed in you. If you’re not hurt at all, you’d better hurry back to Gryffindor Castle. The students are all enjoying Halloween dinner in their own houses.”
Hermione quickly walked out of the bathroom.
Professor McGonagall turned to Tyella, Harry, and Ron.
"Alright, I still have to say you were lucky. Not many first-year students can take on an adult troll. You each earned five points for Gryffindor. I'll let Professor Dumbledore know about this. You can go now."
They hurried out of the room, but as Tyella passed by Snape, Snape suddenly reached out and grabbed her.
“These aren’t the kinds of wounds that a regular flashbang could cause,” Snape said.
Tyrell's heart tightened, and just as he was about to explain something, Snape slowly released his grip.
Tierra quickly ran away.
But his eagle-like gaze remained fixed on Tierra until she disappeared down the stairs. "We should have won more than fifteen points," Tierra muttered to Harry and Ron from the stairs ahead, as Ron grumbled in disapproval.
“We… Tiera killed a giant!” Ron quickly corrected himself after noticing Tiera catching up from behind.
“Only ten points, including the points Professor McGonagall deducted from Hermione,” Harry said.
“And that giant didn’t die,” Tierra added.
He knew the power of the incendiary bombs. Although the troll's physical defense was unexpectedly weak, Tiera not only did not use the pieces of the cursed worm's flesh, but also only used three incendiary bombs.
Those three incendiary bombs would at most severely injure or cripple the giant, but they would definitely not kill it.
Because when Tiera drew blood, she paid special attention to the wound on the giant's head.
Even the skull wasn't burned through.
Moreover, the troll's belly was still rising and falling slightly.
“Hermione was great; she stepped in and got us out of trouble,” Ron admitted. “But don’t forget, we…Tiera did save her.”
“If you hadn’t said that, maybe she wouldn’t have needed anyone to save her at all,” Harry reminded Ron. “That was a very hurtful thing to say.”
As they walked, they came to the portrait of the fat lady.
"Pig nose." After saying the command, they crawled into the dormitory one after another.
The Gryffindor common room was packed with people, noisy groups of two or three.
Everyone's face was beaming with joy as they ate the food brought to them by the house-elves.
Hermione was the only exception; she stood alone in the doorway, seemingly waiting for them.
"Thank you." Hermione stepped forward and hugged Tyella.
Then he hugged Harry and Ron again.
After hugging her, she ran away quickly.
For a moment, the three of them looked at each other, at a loss for what to do.
But they knew from that moment on, Hermione Granger had become their true friend.
When you and someone have gone through an event together, especially knocking out a twelve-foot-tall giant... even though it was mostly Tyra who did it... you can't help but develop feelings for each other.
The revelry lasted until midnight, and after all the young wizards had gone to bed exhausted, Tierra went alone to the common room, which was full of trash and leftovers.
Obscure incantations escaped Tiera's lips and drifted through the empty common room.
Tiera took out a gold coin and a can of green blood. With the help of the fire in the fireplace in the lounge, the green flames gradually merged into the gold coin.
The originally smooth surface of the gold coin was gradually outlined with a grotesque line drawing that resembled a child's doodle.
