Chapter 36 The Youngest Quidditch Player
Chapter 36 The Youngest Quidditch Player
"Here you go, see if you can catch it!" Malfoy shouted, throwing the glass ball high into the air before it quickly fell to the ground.
He was already considering quitting; Harry's sudden display of flying talent made him uneasy.
However, he had only fallen one meter when he heard a cry of "wingardium leviosa".
The flying broomstick continued to fall, but Malfoy was left standing still, frozen in mid-air.
"Ah—ah—ah—help!" Malfoy was terrified, waving his arms and legs wildly in the air.
Harry had already chased after the memory orb that Malfoy had thrown and had long since flown to the castle tower.
Therefore, he did not hear Malfoy's cries for help, otherwise he would have definitely turned around to take a look.
Crabbe, Goyle, and the other Slytherin students were in a chaotic mess on the ground, but no one dared to ride a broomstick and catch Malfoy.
"Put Malfoy down right now!" the chubby Goyle yelled at Tiera, but he didn't dare get close, because Tiera had a wand and a broom in her hand.
Since Crabbe and Gore were stunned by the beating on the train last time, they had witnessed Tiera's fighting prowess and therefore only dared to engage in verbal sparring from a distance.
"Put him down right now!" Pansy, the ugly little witch, chimed in. "Otherwise, you'll be sorry when Mrs. Hodge returns."
"Mrs. Hodge's orders were not to touch the broom until she returned." Tiera smiled faintly, while saying with a righteous expression, "Malfoy disobeyed Mrs. Hodge's orders and took to the air with the broom without any protection. I used the Levitation Charm to save Malfoy from injury when I saw him about to fall off the broom."
"Mrs. Hodge should praise me!"
Upon hearing Tiera's words, the surrounding area immediately fell silent.
All of this is true; Mrs. Hodge did indeed strictly forbid the young wizards from riding brooms into the sky.
"No! Malfoy was about to come down, but you suddenly used the Levitation Charm to freeze him in mid-air!" Pansy suddenly realized.
"Really? What I saw was Malfoy about to fall off his broom." After saying that, Tyella looked at the young Gryffindor wizards and said, "Mrs. Hodge should give Gryffindor extra points, shouldn't she?"
"Yes!" Upon hearing about the bonus points, almost all the Gryffindor wizards excitedly echoed.
As an adult, Tyella could manipulate the emotions of young wizards with ease.
Just as the two groups were facing off, Harry slowly flew back, still holding the memory orb in his hand.
"Yeah—yes—" the Gryffindor crowd shouted.
"Harry Potter!"
However, their cheers were quickly interrupted by Professor McGonagall, who was running towards them.
“And Malfoy, what, what’s going on?” McGonagall spotted Draco Malfoy floating in mid-air at a glance.
“Professor McGonagall!” Tyrell stepped forward and blurted out before McGonagall could explode, “Malfoy disobeyed Madam Hodge’s orders, went up into the sky without permission, and even stole Neville’s Memory Orb from the injured student! Harry tried to stop Mr. Malfoy, but Malfoy, instead of repenting, threw the Memory Orb far away, and as a result, he lost his balance and fell off his broom. I used the Levitation Charm to temporarily immobilize him in his office. Professor McGonagall, please put Malfoy down quickly.”
Tiera rattled off a long string of words, her face also displaying a look of anxiety.
Interrupted by Tierra, McGonagall's anger subsided considerably, and she even looked back and forth between Tierra and Harry with a hint of surprise. Tierra was completely baffled; what did this have to do with her?
“Mr. Wu, how long have you kept Malfoy suspended in mid-air?” McGonagall asked.
"Um... about... about a few minutes?" Tiera replied somewhat uncertainly.
Harry had already gotten off the broom and stood obediently behind Tyella with his hands behind his back and his head bowed.
Tiera had never received a systematic wizarding education, so she didn't know how enormous the magical power required to levitate a living creature in mid-air was for a first-year wizard.
“Harry, come with me.” McGonagall waved her wand, and Malfoy, who had been floating in mid-air, landed on the ground as lightly as a feather.
As soon as Malfoy landed on the ground, he suddenly burst into tears, which made Tyella feel a little guilty, making him reflect on whether he had gone too far in teasing Malfoy.
"Harry, come with me." With that, Professor McGonagall strode toward the castle, and Harry mechanically followed behind her.
With Malfoy, their leader, terrified, Slytherin offered no effective resistance and remained as quiet as chickens until Mrs. Hodge returned.
Of course, there was no further news after Mrs. Hodge returned; only Malfoy, who had recovered, kept glaring at Tyella with hatred.
Having achieved her goal, Tyrell no longer intended to provoke Malfoy for some time afterward.
Harry returned at dinner time looking very happy, though he was covered in dirt, he was beaming with joy.
He told Ron and Tierra what had happened after he and Professor McGonagall left the field.
Ron was about to put a steak and kidney pie in his mouth when he forgot about it halfway through.
"The Seeker?" he said. "But freshmen never do that... You must be the youngest college team player in many years."
“It’s been a century,” Harry said, picking up a piece of pie with his hand and stuffing it into his mouth. He was especially hungry after the harrowing experience of the afternoon.
“Wood told me.” After saying that, Harry glanced at Tyella and found that Tyella was also smiling at him, with that same faint smile on her face.
Ron, on the other hand, reacted extremely. He was so surprised and shocked that he just sat there, staring blankly at Harry.
“I’m starting training next week,” Harry said. “Don’t tell anyone, Wood wants to keep it a secret.”
Just then, Fred and George Weasley entered the dining room. They spotted Harry immediately and hurried over.
“Good job,” George said in a low voice. “Wood told us. We’re on the college team too, we’re batters.”
“I’m telling you, we’re definitely going to win the Quidditch Cup this year,” Fred said. “We haven’t won since Charlie left, but this year, our team is going to be amazing. You’re going to be great, Harry. Wood was so excited when he told us about it that he was practically incoherent.”
“However, we have to go. Li Qiaodan believes he has discovered a new secret passage that leads outside the school.”
"I bet it's the passageway behind the sycophantic Gregory statue. We found it during our first week at school. Goodbye."
