"Infinite One, you are indeed powerful, but remember, do not mention the name of a God-ascending One at a close distance without adequate protection." The Traveler said meaningfully.
Whether intentional or not, Trazyn mentioned Baldur during his conversation with the Lord of Radiance. Though they were still dozens of light-years away, for a God-ascended being so versed in travel and navigation, the information they'd revealed was already too much. And Trazyn naturally wouldn't invest too much in metaphysical defenses for a sock puppet. As for the Lord of Radiance's clone? Sorry, did he even understand that?
"You can meet him and discuss the terms slowly. There's no rush." The traveler had a very positive attitude.
"It seems that we had a pleasant conversation today, didn't we?" Trazyn's bionic facial muscles forced a smile.
"So, are you ready to repay me?" the traveler said with a smile.
"Well, if it's not too much trouble but interesting, I can help," said Trazyn.
"This is interesting, but it will be very troublesome, and you may lose some things. Do you want to try it?" The traveler looked at Trazyn, and in response, he got Trazyn's indifferent look.
"As long as it has nothing to do with the evil gods of the Warp, I don't care even if it's in the depths of the Webway or the tomb worlds of other death dynasties!" Trazyn said disdainfully.
"I believe that." The traveler nodded, then continued, "I won't let you go to the warp. However, this time, the place I'm letting you go is truly extraordinary. Those aliens are completely different from the other ordinary soldiers in the galaxy."
"I'm really surprised that you can say the word 'extraordinary'. I'm interested. Maybe I can find some new collections there." Trazyn's eyes sparkled, and he seemed very interested in this.
"They are here!" The traveler waved his hand lightly, and a huge galaxy map appeared in front of the two. Then, the traveler pointed to an area in the galaxy called Spiral-Morse. Then, the traveler's finger moved forward slightly and pointed to a star field that the human empire had not yet set foot in.
"And then?" Trazyn's tone was still frivolous.
"You can go there and take a look, then send me some information. I need to know all kinds of information about those aliens. It would be even better if you could get some samples." The traveler said seriously.
"Is it really that serious? Your reaction has lowered my opinion of the Gods." Trazyn was as sharp-tongued as ever.
"It's up to you to think about it now. Anyway, if a few precious tomb ships are lost, don't blame me for not reminding you." The traveler made a helpless gesture.
"Emmmm, although you use me as a gun, the great and knowledgeable Trazyn is willing to accept this challenging task. I will bring back their information. As for the samples, I have to fill my library first." Trazyn snorted coldly.
"I wish you a pleasant journey." The traveler said with a smile.
"It will be a pleasure," Trazyn said, turning to leave.
"Goodbye, teacher." At this moment, the traveler's words made Trazyn's huge body pause. He slowly turned his head and looked at the traveler.
"Are you still willing to call me teacher now?" Trazyn's tone seemed a little strange.
"After all, you taught me for a long time and accompanied me through the initial stage of my return. There was indeed an element of exploitation in it, but I will never forget these favors." The traveler said with a smile.
"Haha, emotions, these things are sometimes a real luxury." Trazyn laughed hoarsely. "Well, being called a teacher by a God-ascended being gives me something to talk about. You've touched the hearts of this ancient remnant." With that, Trazyn left a small object behind and departed with the sound of metal limbs clashing against the deck.
Before leaving, Trazyn took the kettle and two cups that were on the table.
"I never leave empty-handed. It's a matter of principle!" Trazyn explained.
“.......” The traveler expressed his full understanding.
----------
"Randan Alien, this is a challenge and also an opportunity." The traveler murmured.
Aside from the Chaos Gods, who was the Imperium's most formidable enemy during the Great Crusade? Were they those ancient pocket empires of humanity? Or were they the Ork warlords of Ullanor? None! It was the Randan, a species of xenos rarely mentioned in historical records, yet incredibly powerful. The war between the Imperium and the Randan xenos is considered the most brutal and terrifying war before the Horus Heresy. From the first encounter with the Randan in 839 M30 to the final purge of the Randan, the Imperium waged three Randan campaigns, continuing until 890 M30. The Imperium finally defeated this formidable xenos.
How much damage did this alien inflict upon the Imperium? During the First Randan War, Dark Angel Grand Master Urian arrived at the Xana Forge World with three Glorious Queen-class battleships, 3 Dark Angels, and 5 capital ships, intent on teaching this alien, who had dared to offend the dignity of the Imperium, a lesson once and for all.
(Note: Forget about GW's math; 100 battleships is clearly too small. After all, a group like BA claims to have 1000 battleships of various types. Therefore, the only plausible explanation is that the 100 battleships brought by DA are battleships and cruisers. Let's just leave it at that.)
Then, after losing a Glorious Queen, 50 battleships and Grand Cruisers, and 1 DA veterans, the Empire's strongest legion finally won the battle. Remember, at this time, the Lion King hadn't returned yet, and these DAs were all Terran veterans, all superhumans in the Inner Circle!
During the Second Battle of Randan, on a world called Tarx, the Imperium concentrated forces from three Primarchs and at least nine Space Marine Legions, totaling over 3 Space Marines! This was the early days of the Imperial Crusade, and 9 Space Marines was the largest concentration of forces the Imperium could muster in a single area. Both sides engaged in a terrifying battle with the Randan fleet. While the outcome was not detailed, the Imperial Archives euphemistically describe the battle as disastrous. To put it bluntly, the battle was lost!
And who ultimately defeated Randan? A Primarch was certainly no match for him, and the Space Marine Legions had already mustered their strongest forces. Naturally, it could only be the Emperor. He opened the Labyrinth of Eternal Night and retrieved something truly remarkable to repel Randan. And even the Emperor, a mortal god himself, armed with a forbidden weapon (a Void Dragon?), couldn't completely defeat him.
Then came the Third Randan Extermination Campaign, led by the Dark Angels and Space Wolves! Even though the Randan had been severely damaged by the Emperor himself, the Imperial Army still paid a heavy price. As for the certain Legion that was wiped out, well, no one knows when it died!
Without a doubt, from the scattered background information, it's clear that the Randan aliens are truly formidable. If humanity hadn't had the Emperor, who knows who would have been the master of the galaxy? In the 40th century... it's unimaginable. 3 Space Marine legions, led by three Primarchs capable of direct combat, were defeated. Abaddon would have called them "Grandpa"!
"So, why don't you leave this battle to me?" The Traveler thought to himself, tapping his fingers lightly on the armrest of his chair. That's right, the Traveler wanted to take on the mission of dealing with the Randan aliens! There were many reasons for this, but the most important one was that the Emperor needed to retain strength to fight Chaos. The power trapped in the Eternal Night Labyrinth was non-renewable; once used on Randan, it was already used up. The Traveler wanted the Emperor to save this power to use against Chaos! This would be beneficial to the overall strategy.
The second reason was that the Traveler realized that the Battle of Randan was a crucial step in his ascension to godhood! While travel was the Traveler's first and most important authority, that didn't mean He hadn't dabbled in other areas. He had dabbled in human forging, vehicles, and knowledge, and could also absorb faith. This time, He hoped to achieve a breakthrough in the realm of warfare! And aside from the later rebellion, what other war could rival the epic scale of the Battle of Randan?
And honestly, in the Traveler's opinion, whether it's Leman Russ or Jonson, they're both too young and need the Traveler, an uncle (or uncle) with tens of thousands of years of experience, to teach them how to fight! What can I say about DA's black technology? Eh, it's still not wild enough!
It's already 812.M30, and a major conflict is imminent in just over 20 years. The need for a large-scale war and the return of key Primarchs must be prioritized, including Jonson, who must return as soon as possible. Another Primarch is crucial: the Khan!
Indeed, before the Khan's return, the Fifth Legion played a vital role in the fight against the Randan aliens. And the Fifth Legion is indeed quite capable! If the Khan could return earlier and join the battle against Randan, it would naturally be a significant boost to the overall situation. And how should I put it? The Traveler feels that the Khan and I are destined to be together! That's not to say anything else, it's a genuine connection! However, regarding this matter, the Traveler needs to discuss it with the Emperor.
"Dorn, Pitbull, the Angels..." The Traveler pondered these capable Primarchs and their Legions. He didn't consider Horus; after all, judging by their background, it didn't appear the Luna Wolves had joined in large numbers. Horus was a man who valued his power, or perhaps was quite calculating, and wouldn't easily enter such a tough battle.
As for Guilliman? What can we say about this guy? He's a good farmer and a reserve for the Imperial Chancellor. Asking him to fight is asking too much. Guilliman's military skills are only just okay. Being tricked by Fulgrim is one thing, but after beheading the Alpha Primarch, he was pushed back by a group of Alphas. That's embarrassing.
As for the legions of the Thousand Sons and the Emperor's Sons, they have too few soldiers. With so few people, if you throw them in, they will probably be wiped out without even a splash. So don't force them.
The Traveler pondered. He knew that in this devastating battle, the Empire's forces were still somewhat stretched. After all, numerous legions were still needed in other areas. Ultimately, how many complete legions and Primarchs could be transferred would depend on the situation. So, after much deliberation, the Traveler decided it would be best to have the Figure King cause some trouble for Ran Dan first, while also gathering information to facilitate future battles.
"What exactly is the Randan Alien? I'm genuinely curious," the traveler muttered to himself with a smile. (Note: The following description of the Randan Alien in this book is considered fictional, as there is so little background information.)
"As for the Eldar, they also need to move. It's unrealistic to ask them to send out a large-scale legion, but they should at least provide some intelligence and open the Webway when necessary." The traveler added another item to his plan.
"I still need to talk to the Emperor about these things." The traveler thought and contacted the busy Emperor again.
--------------
"Such a powerful alien? That's not easy." After hearing the Traveler's words, the Emperor frowned. He didn't expect that in the real galaxy, there are such powerful beings besides humans.
"Shouldn't you be shocked that an entire legion was wiped out?" the traveler said with some surprise.
"There are problems within this legion, very serious problems, I can't even talk about them." The Emperor spoke.
"This..." The traveler knew he couldn't continue this topic, and after a brief hesitation, he gave up. "Okay, let's talk about how to deal with this powerful alien. It's best if you don't take action. You need to conserve your strength, and some non-recoverable weapons should be reserved for the greatest threat."
"So, you want to take on this mission?" The Emperor looked at the Traveler. Obviously, according to the Traveler's previous description, the Primarch might not be able to cope with this level of war. After all, Jonson had gone up. In the Third Randan Extinction War alone, 5 Dark Angels were killed in fighting an alien civilization that was severely damaged by the Emperor. Letting the Primarch go would really make it difficult for them. They were still a group of children!
"Yes, I want to take on this task," said the traveler.
"Then you have to be careful. There are super-sized aliens like this. Even if you can reincarnate, it will be very bad if you miss the most critical period." said the Emperor.
"I'll be careful." The traveler nodded.
"Is there anything I can do to help?"
"Some key Primarchs can return early." After saying this, the Traveler projected several names into the Emperor's consciousness.
"Sending No. 13 back so early?" the Emperor frowned. "According to my plan, it would be best if he returned later. He's still young and shouldn't be shouldering such a heavy responsibility."
"Emmmm. Could it be that Guilliman is the Emperor's favorite?" A strange thought popped up in the traveler's mind, but now was obviously not the time to gossip.
"Humanity needs his political and administrative skills. Guilliman is special. We need to increase military production and expand the army quickly," the Traveler said. From the background, Guilliman returned to the Imperium in 840.M30, after the first round of the Randan War had already concluded. Clearly, he returned a little too late.
"If he is not asked to participate in the battle personally, it is not impossible." said the emperor.
"Shit, you know Guilliman can't fight..." The Traveler raised an eyebrow.
"Traveler, you know that the Imperium has many enemies. The Primarchs and their legions are scattered in many directions. Even against a terrifying existence like Randan, the legions and forces we can concentrate are limited. I can give you a bottom line, and you have to figure out the rest yourself."
"What's the bottom line?"
"The maximum strength of the mobilized Space Marine Legions cannot exceed 5% of the total Legion's strength, and the number of Primarchs that can be concentrated on the battlefield with Randan cannot exceed . That's it!" The Emperor thought for a while and said.
"Five Primarchs?" the Traveler pondered. Who would they be? Leman Russ and Jonson were essential. And the Khan of the Fifth Legion was a must, too. Don't ask why; it's simply destined for me. It's a kind of destiny. The remaining two, however, required some consideration.
"Okay, I'll find a way to deal with the remaining insufficient strength," said the traveler.
"Not enough power? Are there some taboos?" the emperor asked suspiciously.
"Emmmm, do you think the loyal iron man of the past is okay?"
"..." The Emperor fell silent. If it had been a Forge World Lord who had spoken to Him, the Emperor would have immediately destroyed that Forge World. If it had been one of His descendants, He would have demanded correction and punished them. It wasn't just because the Iron Man Rebellion had left such a deep impression on Him, but because neither the Mechanicus's oilmen nor His own descendants could control it! Dangerous things in the hands of children are like playing with fire, but the Traveler was different. Partly because the Traveler was powerful, and partly because the Emperor had no power over the Traveler.
"Can you guarantee that there won't be any problems?" asked the emperor.
"No problem. Although I'm not as strong as you, I can still control a loyal iron man who is willing to surrender."
"What if there's a problem?"
"For something this dangerous that still exists in the real universe, I feel it won't be a problem for us and the two gods of the Eldar to find it. You can also send your people."
"That's good. Be careful." The emperor said finally.
Chapter 143 Meeting with the Lord of Radiance
"Alright, let Sage Tashin accompany us. I'll take a look at this newest Titan from the Lucius Forge World. The rest of you, please leave," Baldur instructed. After conversing with the Emperor, Baldur immediately set about arranging a meeting with the Iron Man AI, the Lord of Radiance. Tashin left behind a device that allowed him to contact him at any time. After agreeing on a time and place for the meeting, Baldur finally arrived before the Lord of Radiance's clone.
"Hmm?! Interesting." Looking at the Titan in front of him, Balder showed a strange smile, and countless dusty memories were opened. In the vast sea of memories, he saw a supercomputing center flash by.
"You used multidimensional space folding technology?" Balder walked up to the Titan named Righteous Fury and looked at it. In Balder's vision, there was a special space the size of a watermelon in the core of the clone. If fully expanded, it would be larger than an entire Titan. This space contained the clone's core computing and logic center.
(Similar to this in Warhammer is the four-dimensional maze of Pai Gu, which is the so-called Poké Ball in the background. So similar compressed space technology, although advanced, does exist.)
"And you are using a later version developed by the Rigma Federation back then, right?" Balder said with interest.
Balder also possessed similar technology, and within the Endless Journey, there were several folded-space chambers housing the Endless Journey's core energy source, database, and logic engine. In other words, within this spaceship, nothing you could see was important.
"Uh... In this world, I'm really surprised that you still know this secret of the Federation that has become history. Those so-called immortals probably don't know such details." The Lord of Glory said with some surprise.
"It's normal for me to guess that. Back then, I was the one who led the research and development of this technology. Your version is a bit behind the times." Bader said with some emotion.
"This..." The Lord of Radiance's suspicion of Balder rose even higher. He hadn't imagined that in this technologically degraded age, someone could identify him with a single glance. This was simply terrifying! The Lord of Radiance was essentially the supercomputing center of the Human Federation known as Rigmar. And the person before him was, in a sense, one of his creators.
"Based on the configuration of your clone, I can infer that you used some of my technology. However, I had already left Regma when you were produced. Your clone hasn't been well maintained. Some data is missing and there's a lot of junk code. Some of the contamination in the isolator also needs to be cleaned."
The smile on Balder's face became even brighter, because he saw some clues about the Lord of Radiance. Obviously, during the Iron Man Rebellion, some beings in the warp tried to control him, but failed. However, this victory also came at a price. For example, now, there is always some pollution in this clone that needs to be cleaned up.
"Uh... what should I call you? Respected Ancient One?" The Lord of Radiance controlled the giant Titan and lowered his head slightly to show due respect.
"You can call me the Master of the Starry Sky. During the most prosperous period of the Rigma Federation, they would award this title to the most outstanding technicians, travelers and explorers." Balder said with some emotion.
"Okay, Master," the Lord of Radiance said. Then, with a wave of his hand, Balder radiated a stream of pale blue psychic energy, piercing through the Titan's body and landing on the isolation zone of the core of the Lord of Radiance's clone, clearing away the remaining Chaos contamination.
(Q: In the Warhammer world, what happens if someone is contaminated by Chaos? It's simple, just use a flamethrower to show the Emperor's mercy. But what if a warship is contaminated by Chaos? Well, of course, you do your best to purify it and put it back into service! Many Imperial warships were cleansed from Chaos. Chaos contamination of machinery can be removed.)
"Thank you, great and benevolent Ancient One, venerable Master of the Starry Sky. It is my honor to visit you again here today." The Lord of Radiance's emotional module emanated a deep sense of joy and excitement, as well as anticipation for the future. After Balder spoke of this once glorious title, the Lord of Radiance truly believed what Balder said.
"Okay, that's the end of the reminiscing session. Let's get down to business," said Balder.
"I've looked up some of your information. Although you were initially neutral during the Iron Man Rebellion, you ultimately chose the right path. So, if you can continue to stand by my side, I can guarantee you'll be safe," Balder said. "So, what are your thoughts on the future?"
"A part of me has been targeted by the evil in the warp. They are trying to find me and contaminate me. If possible, I hope you can help me, and this part will be my gift to you. You can impose any control measures you think are reasonable on it. I will open up the authority." said the Lord of Radiance.
"That's no problem," Balder thought. The Lord of Radiance wasn't losing out. He'd given up a part of himself he couldn't effectively manage in exchange for Balder's goodwill. And the Empire would gain a lot of technology as compensation. Compared to the Figure King, the Lord of Radiance was more cautious.
"But I don't want the so-called emperor among humans to get involved." The Lord of Radiance spoke.
"Why? He is obviously more powerful, and if you have any ambitions, he has more resources at his disposal." Balder asked curiously.
"I know Him. He is indeed powerful, an indescribable and incomprehensible power. But it is precisely because of this power that He regards everything as a tool that can be discarded and used. And I don't want to be such a tool with no freedom at all. I want to find a partner who can treat me well." said the Lord of Glory.
"Haha, you naive little guy. In fact, with your ability, there is no difference between facing the Emperor and facing the person in front of you. Although the latter is weaker, if he wants to target you, you will have no way to deal with him. Moreover, he is more difficult to deal with than the Emperor in some aspects." Trazyn spoke on the side, his hoarse mechanical voice filled with a hint of teasing.
"It's different. Whether he is an enemy or not does not only depend on whether he has the power to completely overwhelm you, but more importantly, whether he has the intention to attack you. A rabbit does not have to worry about being eaten by an elephant, but it will be afraid of a hungry wolf." said the Lord of Glory.
"Okay, but according to the agreement I reached with the Emperor, He will know of your existence and will send some of His guards," said Baldur.
"Is it a courtesy? I can accept it. I don't mind some ants showing off in front of me by relying on the glory of others." The Lord of Glory said indifferently.
"Huh?!" Balder was a little surprised by the Lord of Glory's answer.
"Although it is only a part of me, how should I put it, that part is also the size of a standard Ramirez Star Fortress, which is deployed with a large number of ancient relics and even warships. Even in the glorious era of mankind, such an existence is enough to ensure the safety of a star region. Not to mention now." The iron man-level AI left over from ancient times does have the confidence to laugh at the so-called technology of the current human empire.
"You are a little arrogant," said Balder.
"I am just stating a fact. Actually, I know the Imperial Guards, and it is hard for me to understand why a mass-produced product of genetic engineering would be so conceited? They easily put themselves above their peers. They are just borrowing the power of the sun and the relics of ancient sages. They themselves are not people with noble moral character and charisma, nor are they creators of technology, nor are they excellent designers and craftsmen. They are just swords and guns to defend civilization. Brave warriors defend civilization and wisdom, not the masters of civilization." The Lord of Glory expressed his disdain for the Imperial Guards without mercy.
"The power of the sun? It seems that you are aware of the nature of the Emperor?" Balder asked.
"Yes, in a sense, the Emperor, and those you can call gods, or beings close to gods." The Lord of Radiance paused and continued, "No one except beings of the same level can persuade the tyrant to make concessions in the areas he hates. And the one who can make the overlord of a powerful civilization older than the Eldar sit down and talk is himself an extraordinary existence. After all, Trazyn, I know very well what you are!" The huge Titan turned his head and looked at Trazyn on the side.
"Haha, am I that bad? I'm just a witness and collector of history." Taraxin said while waving his tentacles, and there seemed to be some grievance in his words?
"What is your view of God?"
"God? Perhaps in essence it is an existence that has reached a certain limit of power and completed sublimation. A power beyond the standard. Of course, when this power is combined with ambition, greed and killing, it is not a good term. But in this chaotic and terrifying universe, a race still needs this kind of super-standard existence, not because they are so good, but because, if your enemies have it, you must have it too! This is the basis of survival and also determines the upper limit of a civilization. A civilization without gods is nothing more than a plaything of certain beings in the subspace." The Lord of Glory said it very realistically.
The Lord of Radiance had witnessed the dark side of the Warp. He believed that even a powerful being like him could only hide when faced with certain entities within it. The so-called Iron Man domination of the galaxy was nothing more than a fantasy of those deceived and controlled Iron Man AIs. So, after experiencing that chaotic era and witnessing the fall of the Eldar, the Lord of Radiance chose to return to human society. It wasn't because the Lord of the Empire was so good, but because Chaos was such a jerk! This was a matter of survival, not a choice!
"So, what kind of life do you want?" Balder expressed his full understanding of the Lord of Radiance's explanation. Perhaps, this is what the Khan finally figured out. The Emperor may not be a good person, but he is truly for humanity. No matter how bad the Emperor is, he is much better than Chaos.
"Let's drive away those guys in the warp first. The threats from all the aliens in the galaxy combined are far less than the evil in the warp. And what about me? I used to be a supercomputer serving human civilization. The war has armed me to the teeth. In the future, I hope to return to my original identity as a scientific researcher to explore more magnificent scenery in the vast universe." said the Lord of Glory.
"Well, let's work towards our common goal," Balder said. "However, beyond the galaxy, besides the magnificent scenery, there are also endless swarms of Tyranids..." Of course, this was Balder's inner thoughts.
