"As you command." Erebus lowered his head, and something seemed to be dancing in his eyes.

--------

Lorgar continued walking through the ruins. This was a ruin, a ruin thousands of years old. Logically, the passage of time and various disasters should have completely erased everything here, but this ruin still stood there, like a monument, recording something! Finally, when he reached the end of the corridor, looking at the messy traces on the ground and the blue traces on the wall that shone with terrifying power, he seemed to understand everything!

"At least four great demons were completely wiped out, essentially destroyed. The number of demons exiled is countless. And this traveler also shed blood in the battle." Through his psychic powers, Lorgar tried to see what happened here. However, when he tried to touch the traces of what appeared to be the traveler's blood, an inexplicable power crushed him. Even after thousands of years, the power left by the traveler as a god-ascended was still terrifying. Like a tidal wave, the force flung the Great Word Bearer away. At the same time, he heard a whisper.

"Don't cross the line!" The voice was so ethereal and powerful that Lorgar had no choice but to obey. After Lorgar expressed his willingness to obey, the whisper faded. Lorgar, however, felt a mixture of emotions.

At the moment of contact, he witnessed a scene: the being known as the Traveler roared out the words after personally annihilating the last great demon that had opposed him: "My fate is in my own hands, not in the hands of God!" It was the Traveler's counterattack against fate, his contempt and challenge for the beings known as gods in the highest heavens! Although he was extremely embarrassed at the time, he won in the end! He won in the end! Can you believe this?

Lorgar admired the Traveler. He saw his father as born strong, never having worried about survival. But this Traveler was different. He constantly battled gods he considered invincible, the threat of death and pain never far from his grasp. Even as an enemy, Lorgar held him in deep admiration. After all, he honestly knew he didn't have the talent.

Of course, his admiration for the Traveler was fleeting. Afterward, all that remained in Lorgar's heart was resentment towards the gods. His quest wasn't simply to glimpse the Traveler's memories; he wanted to gain their power! True divine power. Even if only a tiny bit remained, divine power was still divine power. Essentially, there was a qualitative difference between vast amounts of psychic energy and divine power. Sand is still sand; it can't compare to gold! It's the difference between 0 and 1! And now, despite all he had done for the gods, betraying his father and even attempting to drag his brothers into the water, he was accused of overstepping boundaries simply for wanting to touch the divine authority! Lorgar was resentful!

"Below the gods, all are ants!" Lorgar recalled that historical fragment, the expression of a supreme being as he looked upon those great demons. It was pure contempt and disdain, just as he looked upon those mortals. That being's rage and roar were directed at the four evil gods of the highest heavens. As for the demons under the evil gods, they were simply disdainful, crushed to death with a single blow! Closing his eyes, Lorgar's mind was filled with the images of those powerful demons being annihilated. Some beings that even Lorgar felt threatened were helpless before a serious god-ascending being. This power and boldness fascinated him.

"My lord, what's wrong with you?" Erebus caught up with him, and his voice made Lorgar feel sick.

"Erebus, are you my subordinate, or are you the Destroyer's lackey spying on me?" Lorgar suddenly thought of this.

"Thank you for your guidance. You've opened my eyes to a wider world. You've made me realize that the boundary between humans and gods isn't always so clear and insurmountable." Lorgar said to himself, bowing slightly as a gesture of respect.

"Let's go." Lorgar said.

"My lord, do we need to destroy the remains of this false god?" Erebas asked.

"The master we serve is so powerful that they can do almost anything. And now, this relic has survived to this day. If our master is willing to destroy it, then there will be no trace of it. And not destroying it means that our master does not care. Well then, tell me, Erebus, do you really want to do this? Do this without the watchful eyes of the gods?" Lorgar turned around, his golden eyes examining his subordinates.

"Your Excellency is right." Erebas said with sweat on his forehead.

Chapter 312 Traveler: Let’s talk about the Warmaster’s problem (5K)

"Coward!" As the Word Bearers fleet departed, Lorgar gazed upon the ruins still standing on the planet, his heart filled with contempt for Erebus. Although Lorgar ultimately gave Erebus control of the ruins, Erebus was a weakling! He didn't bomb the place to the ground. Lorgar understood the reason. As he'd said, the Four Gods hadn't yet made any plans. How dare you, a mere pawn of the Four Gods in the mortal realm, take over the affairs of a god? Aren't you afraid of retribution later? So, Erebus decisively backed down!

Lorgar returned to his room and forbade anyone to disturb him. He began to recall the memories he had gained from the ruins, those concerning the traveler's path to godhood and his experiences. The information about the former was very fragmented, or perhaps deliberately erased. Lorgar didn't know who had done this. Perhaps the traveler had refused to allow others to follow his path? Or was it a deliberate concealment by the Power of Destruction? Lorgar expressed deep regret for all of this, but he still retained a lot of memories of the elder's past, and the more he thought about it, the more he remembered it.

Although the power of the Chaos God is dominant here, the power left by the Traveler and the power of Chaos are intertwined and eroding each other, which allows Lorgar to see some clues or secrets in past history!

"Foolish follower of the evil god, until now, you still delusionally hope that the evil god will bless you? What a joke? In the minds of those capricious guys who enjoy chaos and destruction, you are just a toy. They give you a little bit of scraps and let you offer chaos and death to them in the world. And when they get tired of it or transfer their attention to other things, you will be abandoned. You are just a dog, a dog for the evil god to enjoy! A dog will always be a dog and can never become a master!" This was the first scene that Lorgar saw in the traveler's memory. It was the scene where the traveler slaughtered a group of believers and priests who believed in the chaos gods.

"Foolish! Once you believe in this evil god, everything you have will belong to him: your body, family, wealth, even your soul! You will gradually be driven by desire, gradually indulge in desire, and eventually be consumed by desire. Your soul will also shatter and turn into a faint echo in the warp!"

"Ascending to a demon? Haha, you've abandoned your roots in the material world and chosen to follow the evil gods. Everything you gain is like water without roots and trees without roots. The evil gods won't do business at a loss. When you gain power from them, you lose even more!"

Lorgar observed the actions of former travelers and fell into deep thought. He began to wonder what he truly was in the eyes of the evil gods. An agent of the gods in the mortal realm? A tool that could be replaced at any moment? Or perhaps just a toy? What would his faith ultimately earn him? Would betraying his father and plotting against his brother truly achieve his goals? Lorgar increasingly questioned everything he had done.

He realized that the gods' gifts were like bread laced with poison. He realized that he wasn't particularly important in their eyes. He realized that in this world, it seemed... Just as Lorgar's thoughts grew, a terrifying power descended from the High Heavens. In an instant, Lorgar felt his mind go blank. Intense pain and dizziness caused him to fall to the ground. The Chaos Gods roared and howled. They suddenly realized that the chess piece or plaything they had chosen had developed too many thoughts of its own and was becoming disobedient. How could this be tolerated?

"I... I was wrong!" Lorgar trembled like a sieve. He prostrated himself on the ground, begging the Four Gods for forgiveness. As the traveler had said, Lorgar had already boarded the pirate ship, and getting off would be difficult.

After a moment, Lorgar stood up from the ground in a somewhat embarrassed manner. He tried his best to recall what he had just done, but he could not remember anything. The only thing he could remember was that he was the messenger of the Four Gods in the mortal world, and he still had a "great" cause to accomplish!

---------

"You are far more cunning than I imagined." The Emperor said to the Traveler in a higher dimension.

"Haha, that's called wisdom and cleverness. I'll take that as a compliment," the Traveler said with a smile. Lorgar could sense what the Traveler wanted him to sense and see. Although the Chaos Gods had punished Lorgar and sealed his memories, as the saying goes, fortunes change. Currently, the Chaos Gods' fortunes are gradually rising, and they can naturally suppress them. But in the future, when the Chaos Gods' fortunes decline, and human civilization overcomes this period of decline, Lorgar will naturally begin to recall some things. At that time, Lorgar will need to make a new decision.

Is Chaos-contaminated objects still usable? Well, it depends. If it's a ship, even in the 40th century, after recovery and cleaning and prayer, it could still be used. But for a human, that's probably much harder. As for the Primarch? The Emperor said this to Old N: "Mortarion, in the future, perhaps you will have a chance to be saved." For a God, so-called contamination can be mutually exclusive, as long as the foundation can withstand the repeated cleansing of divine power!

"As a god, how come you are so skilled in these matters?" the Emperor asked curiously.

"Now, in your eyes, I am a blue ocean, but back then, when I was weak, I was just a glass of water!" The traveler replied with a smile. "Even without the sun's rays, even normal evaporation would cause me to dissipate. Therefore, I must use every possible means to improve myself, within a certain range, using every possible means! You develop through strength, I develop through brains!"

"I feel like you are implying something to me." The emperor pretended to be displeased.

"That's also an experience, isn't it? At least few people are implying you," the Traveler said nonchalantly. It's true that Lorgar was chosen by the Chaos Gods. Neither the Traveler nor the Emperor knew how to rescue him. But with Lorgar already dissatisfied, and the Gods using their power to suppress Lorgar's thoughts, it meant this tool was no longer useful. It's like, before, Lorgar worshipped Chaos as his father. But now, Lorgar suddenly realized that Chaos was a group of profiteers who had cut off his path to success. Could he maintain the same mindset when working?

And now, even though the Chaos God had used PUA and suppression to force Lorgar back to work, Primarchs were still Primarchs after all. Their nature made them remember certain things at times. When the Chaos God's luck was gone, and when the two sides' top powers were entangled, Lorgar might still make some choices. Although he still wouldn't return to the Empire, he could still stab Chaos a little more! That was enough. It could be considered a waste of resources.

"Lorgar is still purging the Terran Legionaries, and he is corrupting the entire Word Bearers Legion. I want to separate some of the Word Bearers from the Legion in order to preserve some of the seeds." The Emperor said to the Traveler.

"Then do it. Why tell me so much? I don't have time to keep an eye on a legion right now. Just leave these details to my subordinates." said the traveler.

"The Battle of Ullanor is imminent. The Great Crusade is reaching its peak, and after that comes the trough," the Emperor said to the Traveler with some regret. Because of the Traveler's intervention, the Great Crusade's greatest enemy, the Randan xenos, was annihilated in just twenty-something years, far less than the three hundred rounds of conflict they had waged. Furthermore, the Traveler's series of "research and development" efforts led to humanity's technological and military capabilities far surpassing its predecessor, significantly shortening the Great Crusade's duration.

As a monumental historical event, a sea change in the destiny of humanity, the Great Crusade commanded by the Emperor would eventually reach its climax! This pinnacle was the Battle of Ullanor, where the Imperial Legion annihilated an Ork nation showing clear signs of reversion. It was precisely because of this battle that Horus, favored by the Emperor, was crowned Warmaster. This marked the beginning of the Heresy!

Certain things are destined to happen, and the Victory at Ullanor was inevitable. This was because it marked the culmination of the Great Crusade. Of course, the culmination of the Great Crusade meant that Humanity had become the dominant power in the galaxy. However, the extent of this dominance remains debatable. Before being crushed by the combined forces of the Necrontyr and the C'tan, the Old Ones were undisputed supremacists, controlling the entire galaxy and the Warp. The Eldar Empire, on the other hand, possessed a lesser degree of supremacy. However, the Eldar claim to be the pre-eminent entity in the physical universe is undeniable. As for Humanity's dominance, it currently appears more watered down. If it overcomes the Heresy and achieves new breakthroughs and developments, it could reach new heights. Currently, while Humanity's dominance is formidable, the galaxy still harbors numerous powerful aliens and pocket kingdoms. Beyond the peak, the battle continues, which is why the Emperor, ready to focus on the Webway, needs a Warmaster.

"And are you going to continue to find a Warmaster?" the Traveler asked. Is a Warmaster necessary? Analyzing from the perspective of logic and practical needs, a Warmaster is actually not necessary. First, the Emperor no longer needs to develop the Webway. This task has been handed over to the more professional and authoritative Traveler. Second, in the background, when Horus became Warmaster, many Primarchs were dissatisfied. They simply accepted this result. And what about this plane? If Horus continues to be the Warmaster, I am afraid that the Primarchs who participated in the Battle of Randan will turn the tables! After all, these Primarchs are numerous and highly organized. Ferrus has his followers, and the Lion King has also formed factions. Horus's base is actually smaller, and it is too difficult for him to become the Warmaster!

But from the perspective of fate, Horus must become the Warmaster. Of course, this Warmaster is not only appointed by the Emperor, but also the Warmaster of Chaos! Under the influence of fate and divine power, Horus is bound to be more outstanding than his brothers.

"You know, a Warmaster is necessary. But I certainly cannot give Horus the right to be above all his brothers." The Emperor sighed and said, what He said was actually equivalent to telling the Traveler implicitly that He accepted Horus's hopeless outcome, and in the end, He would definitely destroy Horus both physically and spiritually!

"How about letting the Primarchs form their own groups and carry out missions in different directions?" asked the Traveler.

"Is this a good idea? Will it become too big to be eliminated?" asked the emperor.

"As long as you can get through this successfully, this situation won't arise," the Traveler said nonchalantly. How many contenders are currently capable of competing for the Warmaster position? While many Primarchs, such as Guilliman, appear powerful, the 500 worlds he controls and the vast Ultramarines make almost all of his brothers view him with suspicion. However, the Emperor and the Traveler know that Guilliman won't rebel, nor will he even ask to be Warmaster. Dorn, in the background, also harbors a slight sentiment, but this dimension seems to have vanished, as Dorn now supports the Lion...

Well, let's carefully sift through the Warmaster candidates and their supporters. There are only three: Horus. He has the support of Mortarion and Angron, and Fulgrim is also leaning towards Horus. Due to their social connections on this plane, Fulgrim and Ferrus's relationship is only good, but not close enough to be considered a sympathetic union. So, Horus has at least three strong votes. No, there's also one from the Word Bearers, Lorgar! Lorgar has already realized that Horus is the best candidate to lead the rebellion.

Then there's Ferrus. Ferrus can secure at least two strong votes: one from Guilliman's Ultramarines, and the other from Krakos of the Raven Guard. Ferrus and Russ also maintain a good relationship. However, Ferrus, as in the background, currently has little interest in running for Warmaster. He finds it a daunting task and is intent on devoting his limited energy to technology and warfare.

The third candidate who possesses both the ability and desire to claim the title of Warmaster is Jonson. He is Horus's strongest competitor! Having executed the traitorous Primarch together during the Battle of Randan and having boarded the War Moon together, Dorn supports Jonson. And so does Pixar. After all, they have a close relationship, and the Lion King is known for his friendship. Vulkan is more easygoing, but if he were to choose, he would most likely choose Jonson. So, if nothing unexpected happens, Jonson will have three guaranteed votes.

In addition to these three, Alpharius also prefers Zhuangsen. The reason is that DA and Alpha Legion have surprising similarities in some areas. They all have many little secrets and have the habit of traveling secretly, so it is normal for Alpharius to prefer the lion.

Besides these three, there's actually another contender: Sanguinius of the Blood Angels. The Archangel is so popular that he would have been a strong contender had he sought the position, but he's currently busy reforming the Blood Rage within the Legion. This secret is no longer a secret to the Emperor in this dimension. In fact, after the father and son spoke about it, the Emperor has actively helped the Blood Angels resolve their blood thirst, or at least find ways to curb and reduce it.

Well, after eliminating these people and their votes, only Khan, Magnus, and Curze remain. What can be said about these three? None of them are focused on the Warmaster election. Khan believes that no matter who becomes Warmaster, he can't stop his own path. Magnus is too absorbed in the study of knowledge and psionics to consider the Warmaster. Sometimes, Khan and Magnus even exchange words. As for Curze? He's just been driven to introspection by the Traveler and is currently reflecting on himself and organizing the Legion. How can he have time for such matters?

"Have you let this out?" asked the traveler.

"Yes, he has been released. You know, Chaos must have a Warmaster, and we, too, need someone who can oversee the overall situation, or in other words, be responsible for a particular campaign direction." The Emperor nodded. As the saying goes, without a leader, a group of dragons is scattered. If several legions fight on a single front, they must have a unified command. In the background, the first Supreme Commander of the Imperial Legions tasked with suppressing the rebellion was Ferrus, the Primarch of the Iron Hands, who was then backstabbed. Then came Guilliman, Jonson, and the Archangel's Second Empire, and then there was Dorn, who commanded the entire campaign during the Battle of Terra.

And considering that the Heresy has multiple fronts, such as the Dark Crusade launched by the Word Bearers and the World Eaters against the Ultramarines, the battle between the DA and the Night Lords, and the Battle of Tallarn, etc., a series of battles, on various fronts, everyone is fighting back and forth, so it is necessary to have a unified command.

However, the Traveler is not very optimistic about the performance of Ferrus and Jonson in the Great Heresy. After all, Ferrus directly gave away three legions. Although it was due to the backstab, his overly reckless character also made him have weaknesses. Then there is the Lion. To be honest, the Lion's performance in facing the Midnight Lords and the subsequent rescue of Terra was a bit disappointing. He was dragged down for three years by the Midnight Lords Legion, and after returning to support, he did not go to Terra but to clean up the rear of the rebels. This performance was simply substandard!

Before the Heresy, it wasn't impossible for Jonson to be a "Regional Warmaster," but after the Heresy, the Traveler felt he could give it a try? As long as he revealed his identity, Russ and Ferrus would definitely be fine with it, and the Adeptus Mechanicus would probably be even less so! As for the Lord of Radiance? The Traveler had a feeling he'd be targeted by the Four Gods and might be out for a while. Hopefully, by then, Mr. Pitt himself would be able to hold on...

"Alright, you can handle this Warmaster matter yourself, but don't give the Warmaster absolute command over the other Primarchs and Legions. Sometimes, I feel that some people may be unstable." said the Traveler.

"I understand." The emperor nodded.

"So what are you going to do now?" asked the Emperor.

"I want to go see the Alpha Legion." The traveler said with a smile.

Chapter 313: Alpha (7K)

The Traveler had his own comprehensive plan for the Heresy. The Word Bearers, the Luna Wolves, and the four Primarchs and Legions chosen by the evil gods were largely doomed to fail; they would essentially become enemies. The only difference was how many men could be recruited. Then there were the Legions that joined the Heresy but kept their distance from the evil gods. Mr. Pitt's Iron Warriors had been completely brought back.

The Night Lords have made a start. As for how many will choose loyalty and how many will rebel after the Heresy breaks out, it's hard to say. But at the very least, Curze, the Primarch or his spirit, will likely remain. Then there's the Alpha Legion, and that's a tough one to predict. The Traveler needs to understand the thinking of Alpharius and Omegan, why they side with Horus. As for loyalty? Anyway, with the Traveler's temper, he won't accept anyone's arguments. If you interfere with my suppression of the rebellion, when the time comes, you'll either be annihilated or the Emperor will take you!

The Alpha Legion is shrouded in mystery, typically excelling at covert operations and inciting rebellion. While they possess true toughness, they rarely possess it. When facing off against forces like the Wormmen, the Alpha Legion's combat effectiveness and prowess are exceptional. During the Heresy, they nearly cornered Russ and nearly their entire VI Legion, a testament to their immense combat prowess. Of course, Russ wasn't the most disgraceful, but Guilliman's. After successfully eliminating an Alpha suspected of being a Primarch, he was still repelled by the Alpha Legion. What a travesty!

The Alpha Legion was truly formidable. Their covert operations, highly skilled spies, vast mortal forces, and both advanced and alien technology made their actual combat power far greater than outsiders had anticipated. As for the true strength of the Alpha Legion when assembled, even their two Primarchs couldn't truly articulate it. After all, some of their actions during the Heresy were truly baffling. One Alpha Legion unit was tasked with seizing a communications station to prevent the Khan from receiving news of the Horus Heresy, while another was tasked with destroying it—a completely contradictory series of orders that left little to be desired. When the Alpha Legion ambushed the Space Wolves, they fought tooth and nail. And in the final Battle of Sol, after their Primarch was suspected of being killed, the Alpha Legion essentially withdrew from the conflict.

Over the next tens of thousands of years, these remnants of the Alpha Legion, whose loyalty and treachery were indistinguishable, shouted their service to the Emperor, devised their own strategies, and carried out missions known only to them. There were many different theories about the reasons for the Alpha Legion's rebellion, and the Traveler sought to understand them.

After carefully observing the long river of fate, the traveler's avatar disappeared into the warp again. According to his plan, he would land on a human world that had just been reclaimed by the Alpha Legion, and his identity would be as a non-Mechanicus technician!

The Traveler chose this identity for a reason. The Alpha Legion placed great emphasis on technology, and therefore, they sought out alien technology, as well as individuals and other technical expertise. On this newly incorporated planet, technical personnel were the most readily recruited by the Alpha Legion. And under the Traveler's arrangement and influence, he would meet Omegan, the Primarch who had returned in the latter stages of the Randan War.

--------

"Primarch, we have completed the occupation of the Fors system. This system has several important industrial worlds, which retain a lot of technology and artifacts. These relics of the Dark Ages are of great significance to the Legion and the Empire." An officer reported to Omegan.

"So, you plan to incorporate some of them into the Legion's peripheral organizations?" Omegan asked.

"Yes, their skills and experience are valuable to the legion. But there is a problem. A problem that your brother would be very unhappy about." The officer said carefully.

"A question that would displease Alpharius?" Omegan showed interest. "Tell me about it."

"The technicians on this planet show clear signs of the Traveler's worship. Our research shows that their worship is nearly identical to that of the Mechanicus: a worship of an individual or group who invented a series of transportation and navigational devices throughout human history. Therefore, we need you to make a decision," the officer said. The Traveler had chosen this planet for a purpose; at least he had found a good entry point. A religion based on self-worship. In reality, worship of the Traveler, or one of his aspects, had long existed throughout his long history. Only now, with the Emperor's approval and the Traveler's deification, has this worship moved from the shadows to the open. This time, the Traveler "replaced" a technician who was once quite famous on this planet but had died in a previous battle.

"I will contact these people and make a decision." Omegan said after thinking for a moment.

--------

"Uncle Carl, those guys with hydras tattooed on their power armor are here." A young worker said to the traveler.

"Don't worry, my child. They have no murderous intent. They probably just want to communicate with us." The Traveler quickly took on his role, comforting those around him. After careful observation, the Traveler could sense that the leader was his target—Omegan! The scent of the Warp-essence emanating from him made the Traveler instantly detect it. This kind of thing is almost impossible to fake. These are not ordinary Alpha Legion soldiers who can be fooled by drinking a little Primarch's blood.

"They say you're the best craftsman here." Omegan looked through the visor of his armor at the rather tall man before him, whose arms and body had been replaced with machinery. He looked middle-aged, but was actually over a hundred years old.

"Yes, I am the best craftsman here, and many of these people are my apprentices and subordinates," the traveler replied.

"What you created has caused some trouble for my legion," said Omegan.

"Before you came, we had no choice. But when your agents arrived on this planet, we offered you our loyalty and our technology," the Traveler said. This body's predecessor did participate in the rebellion against this planet's tyrant, but ultimately, the original owner never saw victory. This allowed the Traveler to exploit the situation. The original owner's soul has been taken back to the divine kingdom, and the karma between them has been repaid. I lend you a body to provide spiritual protection.

"You are very sensible." Omegan said and walked towards a shrine belonging to the traveler in the distance. The traveler followed behind him.

"But that's not enough," Omegan said, pointing at the shrine. "My Legion and I have no need for faith. Everything we do is for the Imperium, for the Emperor. If you are willing to destroy this shrine, you and your men will have the opportunity to join the Legion. If you refuse, anything could happen."

"Sir, your behavior is no different from that of the tyrants on this planet. Even the tyrants on this planet allow us to maintain our beliefs," said the traveler.

"Are you trying to convince me?" Omegan sneered. "It seems you have no idea of your situation. You are just one of my options, but I am the one who can decide your fate."

"Sir, forgetting history is tantamount to betrayal. Destroying the records and legacy of our ancestors will lead you to lose your path to the future," the traveler said after a moment's thought. "You see this as a shrine, but in reality, it's merely a memorial hall, a place dedicated to the great men who once left their mark on this planet. They brought the light of civilization to this planet and this galaxy, making it a world suitable for human survival. Then they left, never to return. Shouldn't we commemorate such a being who expanded humanity's territory? We simply pay our respects to our ancestors, without transgressing any further boundaries. There are many structures like this in this galaxy; they hold our souls close, objects of our pursuit and yearning. Do you intend to destroy them all?"

Omegan fell silent in response to the Traveler's words. He knew he couldn't completely destroy the Traveler cult in this galaxy. It wasn't because he didn't have the ability, but because someone was watching!

That's right, someone was watching! Long ago, his brother Alpharius, for some purpose, had initiated "secret training" for the Imperial Fists and other legions. This included, but was not limited to, assassinations and thefts. According to Alpharius, his original intention was to keep the other legions vigilant so they could better complete the missions entrusted by the Emperor. However, as this continued, things slowly deteriorated. And that's when trouble began.

Conflicts between Legions were inevitable, and as long as they weren't particularly drastic, the Emperor generally didn't intervene. Alpharius, however, managed to maintain a certain balance, using a few prods, but never going too far. However, as these incidents became more frequent, Dorn and the other Primarchs, who were no pushovers, began to turn against the Alpha Legion.

The same trick used by Alpha back then made the other side change exactly as it was! And what was even more ruthless about Dorn was that he had learned how to make reports and win allies! Alpharius did not like the Traveler Cult, and could even be described as hostile. Whenever there was a chance, Alpharius would "take advantage of" and clean up some of the Traveler Cult's fleets, and 30 years ago, Alpharius did just that... A squadron commanded by one of his plunderers attacked a mechanized neural exploration fleet belonging to Huangquan No. . Just when they were about to succeed, an Imperial Fist fleet suddenly rushed out of the warp, and launched a group of stun-guided torpedoes, which immediately shut down the engines of the Alpha fleet. Then there was a one-sided massacre and the people were caught red-handed!

According to Dorn's previous characterization, he would have reported this incident to the Emperor. However, who would have thought that Dorn did not report it immediately? Instead, he, along with Abyssal VIII and the Ultramarines, launched a surprise attack on several Alpha Legion bases. These bases were "illegally" hiding alien technology and artifacts. This incident became a major incident. With enough explosive information, Dorn, Guilliman, and several Forge Worlds filed a complaint with the Emperor. Alpharius was not only forced to hand over many items and parts of the Legion, but he was also severely reprimanded and even temporarily stripped of his Legion command. It was this opportunity that allowed Omegan to expand his influence within the Legion.

By now, every Alpha Legion unit could sense the presence of the Seventh and Thirteenth Legions, tracking them from behind. The covert warfare between the two sides never ceased, though its intensity had decreased. However, the level of confrontation was constantly increasing. The Alpha Legion excelled at stealth warfare, but this skill had its limits. Other Legions and Primarchs could learn from this. More importantly, the Alpha Legion had offended too many. If the opposing forces united, they could mobilize far more resources and power than the Alpha Legion could, creating a dilemma. The Alpha Legion chose to initiate this covert war, but they couldn't choose when to end it!

(Background: Before the Heresy, there were indeed many secret battles between the Imperial Fists and the Alpha Legion. And the Alpha Legion often played dirty. After all, when intercepting the Khan, the Khan discovered that there were many warships in the Alpha Legion fleet that had originally been marked as "missing.")

So, while he could do some small things on this newly conquered planet, if he took a drastic approach, like completely eradicating the Traveler Cult, Dorn, Guilliman, and the other Primarchs, along with the Mechanicum, would undoubtedly appeal to the Emperor. After all, the Traveler Cult was permitted by the Emperor, enjoyed the support of many Primarchs, and was a rising power within the Imperium. Legally, he wouldn't be able to justify his actions. Furthermore, as far as Omegan knew, many captains, navigators, and astropaths within his fleet, as well as a significant number of mid- and low-ranking legions, were believers in the Traveler. This would be a difficult matter to handle. And as for Omegan himself, he actually had no objection to the Traveler Cult.

Because, in his view, for now, the existence of the Traveler, known by the Mechanicum as an aspect of the Pantheon, is beneficial to humanity. Before his return, he had witnessed the horror of the xenomorphs, even beholding a projection said to be the tormented form of the Randan Overmind. He could never forget the profound shock he felt at the sight of a dying god countless light-years away. Even though the being clearly meant no harm, the mere sight of it filled him with boundless fear. Faced with such a formidable foe, Omegan secretly wished he had a counterpart to counter it.

Of course, Omegan couldn't dismantle the entire galaxy's Traveler Cult, but he could easily deal with the middle-aged man and his followers. This guy's language skills were truly remarkable. He didn't choose to confront him, nor did he give in. Instead, he blurred the line between worship and commemoration, giving Omegan a way out. After all, honoring the ancestors was a truly honorable act. Omegan couldn't refuse logically, and at the same time, he had a way out. Thinking of this, Omegan's opinion of the man calling himself Carl improved a little.

"This person is not only technically strong, but also very skillful." Omegan commented in his heart.

"Is it simply worship of the ancients? That makes sense." Omegan nodded slightly. "But among humans, some call them gods, dedicating their loyalty and faith to them. And this so-called god can respond to its believers. So, tell me, is this traveler a god? What do you think of such a so-called god?"

Omegan had diligently investigated the existence of travelers and gods, but as the saying goes, different people have different perspectives on the same subject. Alpharius made no secret of his hatred for travelers and gods. He believed these gods were shackles that suppressed the development of civilization, vampires of civilization, and beings that must be eradicated.

Many people in the Mechanicus regard travelers as a collection of sages, as traces and spokespersons of the God of All Machines walking on the mortal world, as an exploration of the endless unknown and journey, and as an existence that countless mechanics want to devote their lives to and be loyal to.

As for the Traveler, his fellow Primarchs had varying attitudes. Horus was skeptical, Mortarion openly disdained him, and Russ, Guilliman, Ferrus, and Dorn, Primarchs who had participated in the Battle of Randan, were supportive. Jonson appeared indifferent, but deep down he seemed supportive. Magnus, the Khan, and the Archangel seemed to know more, but they chose silence and awe of the Traveler.

It was precisely because of this diversity of beliefs about the Traveler and the conflicting beliefs among them that Omegan felt he had to understand what kind of existence the Traveler truly was, in order to determine his own future path. Having witnessed the attitudes of many high-ranking individuals towards the Traveler, he wanted to see what the attitudes of the lower- and middle-class mortals truly were.

"If this god can meet our needs, and the only offering is some faith, and he doesn't lead his followers to do anything out of line, then we should believe in him... Anyway, for the real lower-class people, life is already so difficult, so any opportunity must be seized, and even if it is fake, it is good to have some psychological comfort." said the traveler.

"Haha, you guys are really pragmatic." Omegan sneered.

"It's not that we're pragmatic, but as ordinary people, we simply don't have a choice," the traveler sighed. "You're of noble birth, so it's hard for you to understand those who struggle for survival every minute of every second. They fight and even risk their lives for bits of rotten food and a little bit of rancid water. They know these things will make them sick or even die, but if they don't, they'll probably die in a few hours. Now that they've reached the depths of the abyss, who can blame them for seeking power from some unknown entity?"

"In a civilization, all beings must fulfill their obligations. The commander is responsible for overall command, the wise are responsible for management and technology, the warriors are responsible for government and protection, and the civilians are responsible for paying taxes and working." said Omegan.

"However, there are always many people who get something for nothing, and there are also some people who claim to be of noble birth who do the most filthy things, my lord." said the traveler.

"Haha, I understand." Omegan nodded. He resonated with the Traveler's words. Because, the rulers of many planets, especially those who chose to surrender and transformed themselves from tyrants into imperial governors, their greed, shamelessness, and bloodiness made Omegan want to eliminate them. In fact, Omegan sometimes did so.

"So my father built a huge empire, but didn't govern it well? Well, my brother Guilliman did a good job in governing Ultramar," Omegan said in his heart.

"What you said makes some sense. In the Cult of the Traveler, from the Grand Magus of the Mechanicus and fleet commanders to ordinary technicians and workers, it seems that their devout worship can gain something. It seems to be an equal transaction, but is there some kind of conspiracy behind this? Have you studied theology? Do you understand the nature of the gods?" Omegan thought for a while and said.

"I'm sorry, I'm just a craftsman. I have little knowledge of theology, and as for history? So much has been lost in time." The Traveler maintained his persona well, a skilled craftsman who would never say much. But He would provide appropriate guidance.

"But even so, I still saw the glory and splendor of past human civilization in the database of this planet. However, due to unknown reasons, the extremely violent subspace storm tore the entire human civilization into pieces. After all, there are some powers beyond the mundane in this world that I cannot understand. But my lord, perhaps you can explore it a little bit?" The traveler said to Omegan.

"Hmm?!" Following the Traveler's words, Omegan suddenly recalled some documents he'd read. They told the stories and history of the Eldar, the last dominant race in the galaxy. These records described the Eldar's worship of their gods, who granted them protection and allowed them to build a vast galactic empire. But later, the Eldar fell, their gods perished, and this tragedy awakened an even more terrifying being. Its awakening even tore apart a corner of the galaxy, a place now seemingly called the Eye of Terror.

When Omegan first encountered this information, he dismissed it as Eldar arrogance and boasting. But later, as he researched more and more, he realized some of it might be true! Beneath the waves of the Warp, it seemed, lay hidden some indescribable, terrifying existences. Omegan even knew that many within the Imperium of Man secretly worshipped these beings, some even holding high positions.

"As Primarchs, can we really handle these creatures?" Omegan fell into deep thought. After all, though Omegan was young and had returned late, he had witnessed much of the galaxy's "true terror." Let's just say, aside from the evil gods, no enemy of humanity could rival the Randan Overmind! And facing the dying Randan Overmind, Omegan felt a deep sense of powerlessness.
