German Red Prince

"I'll tell you! I'll tell you! It's Horst! It's Horst! We have to rescue Horst! He's the person in charge!"
"I know, I know everything. Why didn't you say so sooner? I really feel sorry for your daughter."
Thorne didn't stop, he just waved to David.
"No! No! Don't go! I know more! I have intelligence! They're going to bomb the Crown Prince of the Kingdom of the Rhine!" David roared hysterically. "Don't go, please! If it weren't for that damned mayor, do you think I would have risked everything to join the Unity of Germany Party!"
"Go on, tell me the time, the place, and how many people were there."
Thorne sat down again and listened to David's reply.
"I overheard it by chance. I don't know exactly how many people there were. I only know that three people planted the bomb and three people were preparing to fire a second shot just in case. They were to take action when the prince went to Mainz. I didn't hear anything else clearly."
David slumped back in his chair, looking dejected.
"Your mayor? Tell me what's going on?" Thorne asked, somewhat curious.
"That damned beast! He embezzled all the funds allocated for city renovation! If it weren't for him, would my daughter have gotten tuberculosis? If it weren't for him, would I have lost my job?! I'm going to get my revenge on him, that beast, I'm going to kill him!"
"Why don't you appeal, sir? You can certainly take the proper channels," Thorne asked.
He knew that the Rhine Kingdom had a very sound system for supervising officials, and that the mayor was truly fearless to do such a thing.
"Hmph, do you think we didn't? We're all birds of a feather. The people who went to report him disappeared without a trace. I was warned, beaten up, and lost my job just for writing a complaint letter. Who knows how he knew who wrote an anonymous complaint letter?"
"Oh? That's interesting." Thorne stroked his chin and smiled, it seemed he had some things to do again.
"Congratulations, Mr. Holman, you will be released soon."
In fact, Felix didn't say anything; he was a complete villain who had directly or indirectly killed three people before, and his crimes were unforgivable.
Before coming, Thorne carefully checked the files of the two men and learned Holman's true identity. He also sent people to Darmstadt to find out the situation and visited the surrounding area. He learned that Holman had only left Darmstadt a few months ago and had been working in a machine factory. He had a good reputation, so Thorne decided to take him down.
The officers who came over earlier were just putting on an act for Holman. The notes Thorne was flipping through were just random sentences copied from somewhere, but these gradually broke down Holman's defenses.
"Sir, your daughter is fine, but the Unity of Germany party has indeed stopped sending money. I'm the one who arranged for the hospital to continue her treatment."
Thorne took a coin out of his pocket and handed it to Holman. "It was actually tails just now. Congratulations. But we can't release you right away. We'll release you after we deal with those people. You'll be reunited with your daughter soon."
After saying that, he left, leaving Holman sitting there dumbfounded.
"Your Highness, how did you do that?" Thomas asked from the side. He was very curious about how Thorne managed to obtain so much information just by separating the two of them.
“It’s very simple, the key is to win their hearts!” Thorne began to explain to Thomas. “Before interrogating them, carefully investigate their background. We know we have more information than they do. Be bold, don’t let them know what we want to know, act naturally, find their weakness, and break them down in one fell swoop.”
Seeing Thomas deep in thought, Thorne took out a medal and handed it to him.
“From now on, you are my intelligence chief. No one else knows about this secret organization except us. You are my shadow. I have prepared and set up the equipment and headquarters. I have also transferred funds from KFC’s profits to your account. This is your operating fund. I trust you.”
Thomas learned a lot from the interrogation and needed time to process it. He took the medal Thorne handed him; it bore the inscription "Stasi" in small print.
As Thorne sat in the car, he pondered Holman's words. It seemed that the mayor of Darmstadt had a serious problem, and he would have to go and see for himself someday.
Upon returning to the palace, Thorne rushed to inquire about his brother's whereabouts, eager to avert the crisis.
“Your Highness, Prince Andreas has departed for Mainz and has been gone for some time now,” a butler replied.
"What? Isn't my brother in poor health? Why did he leave the palace!"
"This is a routine inspection, Your Highness Thorne."
"Oh no!" Thorne cried out. "Quick! Tell them to stop! I need to get to Mainz, quick!"
Something absolutely cannot go wrong. Although if Andreas were to be killed in the explosion, Thorne would be the most likely prince to inherit the throne, in Thorne's heart, family ties would always outweigh these lofty powers.
"Are you ready? When will the Crown Prince arrive?"
"Soon, the brothers were all ready."
Hearing that everyone was ready, the man nodded and put on his hat. "Yes, have them ready, make sure everything is perfect."
At this moment, Thorne was speeding towards Mainz.
"I must catch up, I must catch up!" he prayed silently.
Chapter Thirty-Eight: The Importance of Special Forces
"Hi, little Arya, how are you?" A man who looked to be in his fifties or sixties pushed open the door and walked to the bedside.
"Hello, Uncle Hamo."
The little girl lay on the hospital bed, her face pale, her eyes slightly closed, her breathing shallow and long. An IV needle was inserted into the back of her hand, and the medicine was being delivered into her veins through the tube.
Hamor sat on the chair by the bed, looking at the somewhat tired little Arya. He smiled slightly at her, but a hint of heartache and pity flashed in his eyes.
"Arya, you're awake?"
Just then, a nurse walked into the ward, carrying an IV drip. She couldn't help but laugh when she saw the man sitting inside.
"Hello, Mr. Hammer."
"Hello, Mrs. Margaret"
After answering, Hamo looked up at Margaret and asked, "How is Arya?"
She smiled faintly upon hearing this, "I'm recovering very well, and my condition is much better than before."
The man looked at the little girl lying weakly on the bed, his deep eyes revealing a complex mix of emotions.
"Dad, where's my dad?"
Just then, the little girl lying on the hospital bed stirred and murmured weakly.
Hamo held the little girl's cold hand and said to her in a gentle tone, "Your father is doing something important and won't be back for the time being."
After saying that, he took out a doll and placed it in Arya's hand. "Arya, you need to take good care of yourself. You'll be able to see your father when you get better."
Hamor, who had stepped out of the house, looked at Margaret and asked, "Is Arya in a bad situation right now?"
Hearing Hammer's words, Margaret's eyes revealed disappointment. "The environment in Darmstadt is rather poor. The air pollution here is very serious, and the medical conditions are not very good. This small clinic is too crowded, which has a great impact on Arya."
After saying this, Margaret sighed. Arya's condition was very bad. With her meager salary, there was no way to provide Arya with better treatment. Moreover, she could not contact her husband and did not know what he was doing.
“Mrs. Margaret, I’ve heard that Lautertal has a very good environment and that its sanatoriums are very famous. They should be very helpful for Arya’s recovery.”
Upon hearing what Hamo said, Margaret's eyes lit up at first, but then immediately dimmed.
“Sir, Lauterhardt is indeed a good place, and I have considered it, but the sanatoriums there are too expensive, beyond the reach of families like ours.”
Margaret's family has three children, two of whom are still in school, and their youngest daughter is ill. Their meager income is simply not enough to support such a huge expense.
Later, Holman suddenly made a lot of money, saying he had made a small fortune in the stock market, which improved their lives considerably. However, recently Holman has completely disappeared, and Margaret has tried many times to contact him but to no avail. Their family's life has become difficult again, until Hamo appeared and helped them.
“It’s alright, I’ll cover the costs.” Hammer smiled at Margaret. “Mr. Holman helped us, and as a token of our gratitude, we will cover the cost of Arya’s treatment.”
Hammer pulled a slip of paper from his pocket. “Mrs. Margaret, this is the receipt for the top-tier suite at the Philsonmeier Sanatorium. I believe Arya will recover quickly there.”
Margaret was a little confused after hearing Hamo's words. She took the receipt and saw the price on it: "Fiersenmeier Sanatorium, Level 5 treatment, 2,000 marks."
“This is too expensive, sir, we can’t accept it.” Margaret’s hands were trembling. Two thousand marks—she couldn’t save that much money even if she didn’t eat or drink for several years.
"It's alright, it's what you deserve, so please don't refuse. To make it easier for you to take care of Arya, we've also found you a job in Philsonmeer. You can work while taking care of Arya there, which is very convenient. You don't need to worry about your children's education either; we will continue to support them until they graduate from university."
"You don't need to feel guilty. This is my husband's idea. You can start preparing now. I sincerely wish Arya a speedy recovery."
Hamo bowed to Margaret and left, leaving her standing there, lost in thought.
Why did Thorne help Holman? It was because he was looking into Holman's background when he thought about his own.
Holman was originally an honest worker, and his family had once been very happy. They were forced to take risks because their youngest daughter was seriously ill. Thorne did not want to see the tragedy that had happened to him repeat itself in this family.
Thorne was on his way to Mainz at the time. He had already notified Prince Andreas's guards, so the guards immediately suspended their patrols for the day.
In order not to alert the enemy, there was no large-scale search of Mainz. Instead, it was announced that the prince was unwell and needed to rest before the visit. Since Prince Andreas was already in poor health, no one suspected anything.
"Brother Wang, are you alright?"
Thorne rushed to the Mainz palace and, without even taking a breather, went to see Andreas.
"I'm fine, Thorne."
Andreas waved his hand to reassure him, "What do you plan to do with that gang of thugs?"
"Of course, we wiped them all out!" Thorne clenched his fist. These guys were too arrogant; they had to strike hard!
"Do you need my help?" Andreas asked Thorne.
“Of course, brother, I need to borrow your guards.” Thorne secretly told Andreas his plan, a sly grin on his face.
The next morning, the prince began his routine inspection. Because the roads were under martial law, members of the Unity of Germany had to quickly pass through the crowds if they wanted to commit any violence.
This was very risky, and the timing had to be perfect. So they used bombs, hoping the explosions would catch the guards off guard and allow them to escape quickly.
As the prince's entourage passed by, everyone bowed to it. However, one person in the crowd was unusually nervous, his eyes fixed on the entourage. As the entourage approached, he exhaled, put his hand into his coat pocket, and slowly moved forward.
Suddenly he felt someone pat his shoulder, and as soon as he turned around, someone covered his mouth and nose.
"Oh no, we've been exposed."
Before he could finish his thought, his legs gave way and he fell into a coma.
The two men behind him grabbed him, dragged him to a corner and hid him, and continued searching for the next suspicious target.
"Huh? Where are they? Why didn't Tidus go?" someone asked in a low voice to the person next to them, looking puzzled.
"They probably just haven't found an opportunity yet. Let's wait and see." They gripped the pistols tucked into their arms tightly, watching the convoy move forward.
But no one would rush towards the convoy with a bomb if they waited any longer, because those people were now fast asleep like babies.
"Damn it! Where are they?! There's no time, make your move!"
They rushed toward the convoy, but before they could even draw their guns, several guards carrying large shields got out of one of the vehicles in the convoy.
"Insects! Let me show you what a Shining Shield really looks like!"
When Thorne took out the great shield last night, the captain of the guard looked at him with disdain, saying, "This thing can't stop bullets?"
Thorne allowed them to fire at will, which shocked the captain of the guard. Good heavens, what kind of shield is this? It looks like a toy, yet it can't be penetrated?
Thorne turned on the headlights again, and the captain of the guard said he never wanted to face it again in his life; they were blindingly bright.
A group of guards got off the vehicle, carrying large shields and marched forward. The rioters who rushed up were blinded by the light and instinctively shielded their faces with their hands.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, the guard pulled out the Uzi submachine gun that Thorne had given him. This submachine gun with an extremely high rate of fire proved to be of great use here, and quickly took down several thugs on the road.
At this point, the police also began to act, quickly blocking off the streets, and the guards hidden in the crowd took down several suspicious people in succession.
The remaining Unifying German Party members, seeing that the situation was not good, hurriedly fled, but were all killed by the guards. When the remaining people realized that resistance was useless, they gave up the struggle and knelt down to surrender.
After subduing all the thugs, Prince Andreas alighted from his carriage and looked at the crowd.
"All the thugs have been captured. You can leave now. I assure you, no one will be allowed to be threatened by terrorist organizations on the land of the Kingdom of Rhine! If they dare to do so, I will make sure they are crushed to pieces!"
"Long live your highness!"
The crowd cheered loudly, and the Mainz inspection came to a perfect end.
“It seems that organizing a special forces unit is very necessary,” Andreas said to Thorne on the way back, agreeing with Thorne’s point of view after this incident.
"Let's talk to Father when we get back. Hopefully, we'll see a strong army soon."
And so, the formation of a special forces unit in the Kingdom of Rhine was put on the agenda.
On the same day, the Bavarian prince was assassinated and hospitalized with serious injuries, while Wilhelm II also narrowly escaped assassination by changing his route at the last minute.
"waste!"
In a manor, a man with a gloomy expression stood.
"Cease all operations for now; we mustn't be discovered!"
"damn it."
The man looked up into the distance and clenched his fist.
Chapter Thirty-Nine: Workers Don't Need Capitalists
Ding Ding
The door was pushed open, and a number of tired workers walked in from outside. Their worn clothes were stained with industrial oil and dust, indicating that they had just finished their shift at the factory.
These workers are from industrial areas near Berlin, and they come here almost every day after get off work to sit and rest.
"Hello, would you like a cup of coffee?"
