Atlas Double Star Book

Chapter 5 The Court of Reunion

Neil walked along the long arcade to the outer castle where the monster's head was stored, because the golden bear was so drunk that he couldn't bring Trand's little snowball back to the Knights. As for the Night Palace, he has only been here twice in total, both of which were accompanied by Trand for social gatherings in the Lion Court. What can be touched is only the connected atriums on the west side of the palace and the Anabas Square facing the Night Palace. In the center of the square is a bronze statue of the "Dragon of Dwelling", which was donated by the academy.

The arcade gets quieter the further southeast you go, as it leads to the exit. The banquet has only just begun.

Alcohol made Neil's footsteps a little erratic, but it didn't bother him, he just felt hot all over.Maybe just a few seconds later when Trander told him to leave, he was about to hit that bastard "Magic Banner".Alcohol is still not very good, Neil hopes to sober up before going home, he doesn't want to see Peleas in a daze. After all, tonight's reunion... means a lot.

But after walking for a while, Neil heard the voice of his friend.

It seems to be Egg: "Are you really going back now? You haven't even met Neil yet."

"Sorry, I'm a little tired..."

is teacher! The young knight held his breath and listened to the conversation between the two in the court of mirrors.

"You know that Neil's outstanding performance this time should be officially canonized as a knight. Don't you want to miss it?" Neil heard that Yi Ge was lying to Pelias.

The teacher said nothing, and Neal waited for the answer.

"No, I won't..." the teacher said, "Am I willing to let him down again? I won't be absent at his celebration party, his canonization ceremony, or his wedding."

Neil's heart tightened.

The scholar continued: "But I know that what you said is a white lie. Although I don't know much about the knight system of the empire, I do know the circumstances under which the canonization ceremony is usually held. Rand's official award will be three days later."

Egg didn't continue talking.

"Forgive me for leaving without permission..." Peleas said, "I want to pack my luggage before Neil goes home."

luggage? !

Egg said, "Have you stopped thinking about it?"

"I've decided to go back to the academy at the end of the month. Because..."

He turned out!How could he... Neil was anxious and angry, and jumped off the colonnade in two or three steps. The darkness was like a door that was roughly pushed open.

Pelias was thinking about what to say, when he heard footsteps, he suddenly raised his head——

The man stood there, his figure was reflected in the square spring pool in the center of the mirror garden, and the lone star stopped timidly on the water.Pelias wanted to call out several times, but he suspected that he was delusional.

"Neil..." His voice was very low, but the other party undoubtedly heard it, because the young man on the opposite side of the mirror stood up and froze, just like himself.

Are they really separated by a year?Peleas was not sure, any obvious facts were silent at the moment. He realized very early on that his problem was that he couldn't keep a distance from his emotions, so he always needed arguments, restraint, and detachment from them. Most of the time he's flat out and doing things the way he wants to.But Peleas had a premonition that the dams he had built for a long time would be ineffective for this moment, and he would only repeat the same mistakes, and then lose completely.

Egg went around and hugged Neal deeply, like knights always do.

Seeing this scene, Peleas realized that Neil was already taller than Egg, with wider shoulders.Their swordsmanship is in the same line, and the hands that the two used to hold wooden swords for practice, now hold tightly.Pelias felt inexplicably frustrated, perhaps Egg helped Neil more than himself.

The black knight said goodbye after a few words, leaving the speechless master and apprentice stunned at the awkward ends of the courtyard.

Pelias couldn't bear it, and spoke first: "... are you okay?"

"..."

Neil's silence hurt him, and he suddenly decided to give up, but he didn't know what to give up.Pelias continued, "Long time no see."

"..."

If Neil continued to be silent, he would no longer have the strength to talk.Peleas decided to continue speaking on his own, which was almost self-defeating.

"Are you hurt?"

"what."

"..." This time, Pelias lost his words.Where is it hurt? There was no mention of this in the letter. Are you healed now?I want to see the bandages, yes, right away. Will it still hurt?how did you make it……

The oleander flowers on both sides of the courtyard are coming to an end, and the withered ones have not had time to be cleaned in the evening. The mirror spring was dazzlingly bright, which was actually an illusion, because he could neither look directly at Neil himself, nor look at the reflection. It wasn't supposed to be like this, he had long since left his speech behind.

He didn't want to speak anymore, he couldn't speak a word anymore.

At this moment, Neil spoke suddenly, as if he recognized his deepest tiredness. His student said, "You're going back to college, what do you mean?"

"..."

"What do you mean you're going to pack your bags before I go home?"

Pelias turned his head angrily.

Neil said calmly: "You plan to leave alone when I'm not paying attention, and make me anxious because I can't find you for more than half a year, and then let me suddenly receive your letter one day, and put Notify me officially of this."

"Yes, that's right." Peleas said coldly, completely ignoring the voice that said "no" in his mind.

"Oh." The shadow on Neil's face moved.Just pretending to be mature, the young man's anger can't be contained at all.Sure enough, Neil couldn't help raising his voice and said, "Do all your decisions only let me know in the form of 'notification'? You always make decisions like this, thinking that it is foolproof and beneficial to everyone. Oh, except for yourself, and then you have made the decision for me, and insist on doing it!"

Peleas retorted: "We have to live separately, I need my own space to work, and you can't live with your former guardian forever."

His students couldn't hold back, impatient like a child who has been poked in a sore spot.

Neil couldn't stop looking left and right, stretched out his hand to gesture but clenched his fists tightly in anger, his body was tense and trembling.Peleas was familiar with this behavior, it was what Neal would do when things seemed utterly absurd. He continued:

"You need time to think about it, and while you're not used to being alone right now, you'll get used to it soon. You'll find that being alone can be a very creative thing."

"Speaking of which, you are used to being alone, aren't you, teacher? But the 7 years you were alone almost broke your body, and your mental state was so bad that you can't even distinguish dreams from reality! Either you don't sleep for four or five days in a row, Either you wake up and think you are dreaming. If I hadn't started living with you again, taking care of you, giving you a good rest... Then you wouldn't even be able to tell whether it was me or Hein Prospero that you saw at this moment !"

!

A gust of wind blew up the reflection.

Peleas tried his best not to have an attack, he knew that children are always children, and he likes to irritate adults by smashing cans, instead of facing problems rationally. He needs to give Neil enough patience and give him time to accept the reality.

"Don't evade the problem," Peleas tried his best to remain calm, "Although I promise this time that I won't leave without saying goodbye, it's really unfair to you. But I'm going back to the academy at the end of the month, and that's already a fact."

Neil kept explaining, and the teacher rejected them one by one, until both sides had run out of words, and the content of what was said was repeated again, leaving only the emotion itself burning stubbornly. They were all thirsty, and finally Peleas asked: "Why do you insist on living together? Even if you go back to the academy, we can meet in the future. When you need me, I will come. For example, when you are named Knighthood, or your wedding..."

"There's no reason! You're not allowed to go. You can't go anywhere without my consent." Neil suddenly said this.He finally bypassed the spring and came to Peleas. He stood so close that the scholar had to tilt his head slightly to look straight.

Peleas sighed for a long time, he was really sleepy by now... But his anger was gone, did he need to be serious with a young man? The words of young people in their early 20s are not stable at all. They are always passionate, either suddenly moved, or suddenly sentimental or angry under some kind of call.He doesn't feel old, but he's too tired to chase young people emotionally.

"Neil, I know what you're thinking... But even in front of me, you can't be a child forever. You really don't need me anymore..." Peleas felt sad for his own words .

He waited for Neil to continue losing his temper, or get red-eared and want to talk back.Peleas was ready to listen patiently, wait until the child had lost his temper and confessed sincerely, and then he would embrace the student with relief.

Young people, however, did not.

Neil stared at him for a long time, his eyes were very light, but firm and steady.Strangely enough, Peleas couldn't figure out what it meant for a moment. It stands to reason that he already knew this child too well.

"Ederel." Neil suddenly called him the original name.

This group of syllables was like a shock source, and his mind was instantly overwhelmed by great anxiety!Pelias stared at the other party motionlessly, calculating several guesses in his mind.

Neil looked up at the starry sky: "At this point...I have to tell the reason, right?"

Peleas did not answer.

"Okay, since you must know." Neil took another step forward, even forcing the teacher to the edge of the spring. The young man's body was so close, so close, that their chests were almost touching, and his knee was pressed against Peleas' leg.

Before the panic could dispel the numbness that permeated Pelias' body, Neil stretched out his hand, gently stroking the back of the teacher's neck and hair roots, and stroking his earlobe.

He was drowning in his breath.

"Now do you understand?" Seeing himself reflected in the teacher's golden pupils, Neil smiled wryly.
