The Cyanided Heart

Chapter 8: Outbreak

Reed carried his M1891 Mosin-Nagant cautiously through the bushes surrounding the camp.Very well, no one has found himself yet. Before retiring, he enjoyed the sound of a bullet being loaded.

The real battle begins again.Reed touched his leather bag, and there were more bullets in it.Sighing, he fumbled for the bullet and loaded it into the clip.

Damn the Germans.Reed frowned. After that, he often heard rumors about Auschwitz concentration camp.Every time he listens to it, he has a heavy face... Whether it is the partner who conducts evil experiments on children or the cruel doctors, he feels sincerely uncomfortable.

Now all he wanted was to find Buford and join him.Even with his goodwill toward all the Runaways, he cared more for Buford, probably as much as he felt for his own son.

Buford, where are you?

...

Amy opened her eyes, and she was sinking in the water, and she couldn't help feeling breathless. The surrounding water fluctuated, as if someone was calling to him.

"Amy! Amy..."

It's Buford.Amy felt herself picked up by a pair of strong hands and floated to the surface, and Buford looked at her worriedly.

"Are you all right?" Buford swam to the shore with Amy on his back.Amy looked at the shore, Kate sat on the ground and twisted her sleeves, water dripped down her sleeves.

"Well! It's okay." Amy smiled.

"That's good," Buford whispered with a sigh. "Stay with me later, will you?"

Amy nodded.Buford climbed ashore, wringing the water off himself. The three of them headed down the mountain.

...

The Germans seemed to have found themselves.Reed spat out the blades of grass and aimed his gun at one of the soldiers.

After a gunshot. The bullet hit the soldier in the chest, and Reed staggered from the recoil.Other soldiers raised their guns and fired at this side, and Reid walked through the bushes with his waist bent, trying to avoid bullets.

Unfortunately. He was hit in the arm anyway, and blood trickled down his elbow.Reid curled his lips, raised his gun and dealt with another German soldier.

Panting and hiding behind a big tree, Reed tore the sleeves of his clothes into strips to bind the wound. The pain stimulated his nerves, he grabbed some grass blades and chewed them, as if trying to divert his attention.

"Hey, old man, you seem to know a lot from the way you look, do you want to consider sharing some information?" A female voice came from above.

Reed looked up sullenly. In front of her was a blond-haired female German officer, who was looking at herself with interest.

The blonde female officer is Jessica Franz. After rushing back from Auschwitz overnight, he continued to devote himself to the aggression.

"I, I chose Russian just to get some information." Jessica pointed the gun at Reed, smiling triumphantly, "How about it, can we cooperate? I can heal your wound."

"Damn it, get out of our country!" Reed dodged the bullet by rolling over and smashing the butt of the gun into her head. The two wrestled together.

Although Jessica was weaker than Reed in strength, she still showed no sign of weakness. She could have stayed out of the trouble with Reed, but that seemed to be her own fault.

Jessica rolled back to avoid Reed's fist, but Reed grabbed her neck severely.Jessica struggled desperately, but gradually found it difficult to breathe.Reed stared at himself angrily, seeming to increase the strength of his hands.

I don't want to die in a place like this.Jessica found her Sauer M38H, and her survival instincts led her to shoot Reed in the stomach with difficulty.

Reed felt a burst of warmth coming from his abdomen, and his hands lost strength for a moment... He couldn't help staring at Jessica with wide eyes.Jessica coughed and broke away from Reed's hand, gritted her teeth and looked at Reed.

"You are here to bleed to death with honor!" Jessica broke away from Reed angrily. Then he stood up and fled towards the distance.

Reed felt severe pain, and his blood seemed to soak his clothes. He instinctively wanted to raise his gun and shoot back at Jessica. But before picking up the gun, Reed fell to the ground.Blood soaked the soil.

Reed gritted his teeth and crushed a handful of grass leaves to apply to the wound, and then the pain made him unconscious.

No matter who sees this scene, they will think that another soldier has died heroically.

...

Jessica thought it would be great if she had a walkie-talkie, but unfortunately she was not a radio soldier. She originally thought that she could get some information from a lone Soviet soldier, but she didn't know that she seemed to be a bit heavy-handed and returned without success.

The worst thing is that Jessica doesn't know the way here, and Jessica has been following him since she found Reed.So Jessica was honorably separated from her subordinates. Fortunately, there were still subordinate commanders, so Jessica's identity was relatively free to a certain extent.

Jessica found a bush and squatted down, took off the binoculars on her waist to observe the surrounding environment. There is a looming lake in the northwest, and there are gunshots in the distance, but it is difficult to tell where the gunshots are coming from.Jessica sighed.

It's really difficult.Jessica wiped the flare gun on her sleeve, seemingly hesitating whether to signal her subordinates to come and meet her.Immediately afterwards, Jessica shook her head, because sending signal flares at will would make her appear to be lacking in ability.

There seemed to be voices coming from down the hillside.Jessica frowned, and ducked into a nearby tree trunk. The view here is better, and it is not very far from the ground, so anyone can easily climb up the hillside.

It was a teenage boy with short black hair.He skillfully climbed up the hillside, patted the dirt on his hands and looked into the distance. He seems to be investigating something. What a suspicious guy.

"Buford, can you see that?" came a childish cry from below. It turned out to be a few Soviet children who were alone, maybe we could get some information from them.Jessica sneered.

Before the boy named Buford could turn around, Jessica strangled him tightly from behind. The boy named Buford struggled desperately, but the strength of the child was far from that of an adult, and Jessica put the muzzle of the gun on his head.

"who is it……"

Buford couldn't see the man's face.No matter how hard he tried to turn his head, it was only to the extent that he could glimpse it out of the corner of his eye.

Anyway, finally a reason to fire the flare gun.Jessica jumped down the hill, using Buford as a cushion.

"Hey, you two." Jessica said to the terrified Amy and Kate, "...Don't think about running away, or your friend's life will be lost."
