My Plunderer System

Once he was in the privacy of his dorm, he locked himself in the bathroom and pulled out the essence core. When he pulled it out a new screen popped up he hadn't seen before. It said:

[Absorb] [Inventory] [Clear]

Seeing the three options, he already knew what clear would do. But the inventory option was brand new. At the same time, the absorb option was new, but it was self explanatory. After seeing the new option he decided to test it out and pressed the inventory option.

The minute he did, the essence core in his hand disappeared. Seeing this, Milo panicked.

"Shit! Where'd it go?!" After freaking out for a couple seconds, Milo calmed down. If there was an option for inventory, then there had to be a way to open his inventory and retrieve the core.

After a few tests, Milo finally did the obvious and said, "inventory," aloud. After verbally saying the word a screen popped up with a bunch of squares and in the top left corner a picture of the essence core was visible. When tapping on it, there were three options that popped up: sell, discard, and equip.

Based on the options, there were three things that Milo deduced from this. You can discard things from the inventory, you can equip them back to your person, and lastly that he could sell the item. The only question was how he could sell it to the system. Would it give him money he could spend, would he get experience, he wasn't sure. Finally he thought maybe there would be a shop in the system, but that wouldn't make a ton of sense. As soon as he thought this though, another screen that was foreign to him popped up.

After this popped up Milo had a new goal that he would push towards.

Finally he was done with his tests and was ready to absorb the core, he opened his inventory and pulled out the essence core. This time he selected absorb and his vision went white.

After a few seconds his view returned to normal and a screen appeared.

Gained 3 points in the Magic Power stat

Gained 30 exp

And after that, another new screen.

"Huh?" Milo immediately opened up his status screen,

After leveling up and absorbing the Intermediate Essence Core, his Magic Power had jumped to nine points, and he could now hold four abilities, meaning he could now plunder one more.

"What did it mean when it said new things have been unlocked though?" Milo thought.

After switching to the Plunder tab he could see what the system meant by things being unlocked.

Plunder (lvl 2): Possibility to copy the ability of other awakened if certain conditions are met

A new Plunder skill was no longer hidden, and was called fusion, Milo could only guess that he'd be able to fuse abilities but wasn't sure what kind of limitations the system would put on the ability.

The other thing he noticed was that the plunder ability itself had leveled up. When clicking on the information tab for the ability. It told him what had changed. When leveling up to level two, the ability's cooldown was reduced by 12 hours and along with this, the chance to copy an ability increased. Up until now, he hadn't failed at plundering an ability so he didn't have a reference to how often it failed but with some testing hopefully he could find out.
