Wasteland Lord: Starting from Thirty Days to Live
Chapter 47 Boring! I want to see rivers of blood!
Serena shrank back in terror, about to scream, but the man was faster, rushing up to cover her mouth and restraining her arms.
The drunkard, named Scarface and known as "Vulture," was one of "Venom's" two most capable henchmen.
He was notorious among the refugees because he repeatedly harassed female refugees and was a veritable lecher.
In fact, Vulture had long coveted Serena, but had no opportunity to do so.
Tonight, taking advantage of the alcohol and the fact that the two guards had gone out to fetch water, he sneaked into the tent.
Then the vulture slowly approached, its strong smell of alcohol and stench making Serena want to vomit.
"I've never been with a noble lady before, I wonder what it's like?"
Serena felt that lewd gaze sweeping over her from head to toe. She was caught between a rock and a hard place, unable to cry or scream, and was left speechless with despair.
Just then, a small crack appeared at the tent entrance, and a small head peeked in from outside. Then, the head threw a pebble, which accurately hit the vulture's head, causing blood to flow freely.
He sobered up considerably and roared furiously, "Who?!"
Taking advantage of the vulture's distraction, Serena kicked it in the groin and bit its hand hard. The vulture was in so much pain that it clutched its groin and rolled on the ground in agony.
Serena seized the opportunity to shout for help.
The refugees outside gathered around upon hearing the noise. Vulture realized something was wrong, glared venomously at Serena, scrambled to his feet, and ran out with his legs clamped together.
The refugees gathered outside Serena's tent, and the two guards also rushed back, listening to the still-shaken Serena recount what had happened.
Anger was evident on everyone's face.
The youngest and most hot-tempered Sam thrust his sword into the ground.
"That beast! I'm not human if I don't kill him!"
"Yes! He should be tried and arrested!"
The displaced people chimed in to support him.
At this moment, a handsome old man in his fifties stepped forward from the crowd.
Although the old man was old, he had a decent appearance and was more tidy than the others, even though he was on the run. He seemed to be a very particular old man.
He was Martin, the former owner of the once-prosperous Deepwater Tavern in Gate City, and also a brewer. Because he had received a favor from the old city lord, he followed Serena without hesitation.
He had spent many years mingling in the upper echelons of Zhakou City, and was more shrewd and cautious than the uneducated commoners.
"What are you going to do with the vulture you caught?"
"Kill him!" Sam said decisively.
"Kill only one vulture, and ignore the rest of the thugs?"
"this……"
"It seems you also know that they are a gang, and it's impossible to try one person alone, unless..."
"Unless you kill them all!"
A young girl's voice came from outside the tent.
"Who?" Old Martin cautiously turned his head.
A plain-looking little girl with a large burn scar on her face walked in from outside the tent, tossing a pebble in her hand.
Serena's eyes lit up when she saw the little girl.
"It's you! You're the one who saved me!"
Someone saw the little girl, looked thoughtful, and then suddenly realized what was going on.
"I know her. She joined the team a few days ago. She said her name is Lina and she's an orphan."
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief; thankfully, it wasn't Vulture's group.
Old Martin dismissed the threat of the Vultures eavesdropping and continued speaking, going along with the little girl's words.
"Young lady, you're right. Either don't make a move, or if you do, wipe them all out."
To exterminate them all?
Serena hesitated.
But thinking about what the vulture gang had done, and the danger of being nearly humiliated today, her eyes gradually hardened.
"Then let's kill them!"
Seeing that Serena had finally made up her mind, everyone showed relieved expressions and began to discuss the details of taking action.
Ultimately, they decided to take action that night to avoid leaks due to too many people talking.
Moreover, the vultures have been drinking heavily tonight, which will surely weaken their fighting ability, making it a good time for them to launch a sneak attack.
After finalizing their plan, they all returned to their tents to retrieve any usable weapons, preparing to act at midnight.
Serena, however, kept Lina with her and repeatedly expressed her gratitude.
"If it weren't for you, I might be in big trouble today. By the way, your accent doesn't sound like you're from Zhakou City. Where are you from?"
Lina smiled, revealing a set of bright white teeth.
"From the border, miss."
Serena sighed.
"Go ahead, everything will be settled by tomorrow, and you'll be safe."
Lina smiled and nodded, then stepped out of the tent.
However, after taking only a few steps, a sound came from Lina's arms.
"fraud!"
A little elf popped out of her arms.
It is obvious that this Lina is Lina Knaron, and she has successfully infiltrated the refugees according to her plan.
Lina became a little impatient when she saw the little elf shouting.
"Shut up. Have you forgotten our agreement? I brought you out, so don't say another word, or I'll lock you up again. Do you want to experience being in a dark room?"
When the little dark room was mentioned, the elf fell silent.
Lina continued walking, and after a while, the little elf couldn't help but ask again.
"Where are you going?"
"Go find Venomous Fang."
"What do you want with him? You're not trying to tip him off, are you?"
Lina did not deny it.
The little elf cried out again.
"You can't go! Many people will die. This is betrayal!"
Lina gave a cold smile.
"So what? Survival isn't easy. I just taught that young lady that much."
"But that's a secondary reason. The main reason is... boredom. I want to see rivers of blood!"
The little elf wanted to say something, but Lina casually gagged her with a strip of cloth and stuffed her back into her arms.
When Lina arrived at the campfire where the Fang gang was sleeping, Fang was already fast asleep like a pig.
Lina walked into the shadows not far away, and with a casual wave of her hand, a raven with gray eyes appeared in the forest and landed on her hand.
Lina whispered to the crow, who nodded in understanding and fluttered its wings to come to Fang's side.
It pecked at the face of the venomous fangs.
The sleeping fang was interrupted and sat up abruptly, ready to fly into a rage. But he found that it was not his subordinate who woke him up, but a strange white-eyed raven that was staring at him without blinking.
Ignoring the fangs' warning, the crow opened its mouth and spoke in human language under his fearful gaze.
"You're going to die! The refugees in the camp are gathering against you, and they plan to kill you tonight!"
After saying this, the crow flapped its wings and flew away before Fang could react.
Fang was shocked by the information in the message and was wondering who had sent it when suddenly, a series of rapid footsteps came from not far away.
Poison Fang's expression changed, and he kicked one of his underlings in the butt.
"Wake up! Something's happened!"
