Traveling Through Journey to the West: I Am the Dragon King

Chapter 63 From White Crane to Golden Cicada, No Escape; Bodhisattva Appears to Settle Karma

After making up his mind, Yun Chonghua fully activated the power of the Kunlin Treasure Robe, constantly flipping up and down.

Yun Chonghua's flying speed was so fast that even Jin Chanzi was dazzled by it.

Jin Chanzi now greatly admires Yun Chonghua's strength. If he hadn't been wearing the Brocade Buddhist Robe, even he would have had difficulty subduing Yun Chonghua.

Just considering the Samadhi Divine Wind alone, if this kasaya doesn't have a wind-stabilizing magic weapon, then as Huang Mei said, even if they could win, they would probably be difficult to deal with.

Just as Jin Chanzi was pondering how to handle the aftermath, Yun Chonghua's figure vanished in the blink of an eye.

Only the jade bottle remained, like a beautiful star, slowly falling from the sky and landing on the sea.

Upon seeing this, Jin Chanzi immediately put away his brocade cassock. He also saw the figure approaching from afar, and sighed inwardly, realizing he was still a step too late.

Huang Mei then caught the fallen jade bottle in her hand.

Huang Mei, holding the jade bottle, said, "This kid is truly skilled; he managed to escape from the 'Mustard Tree' you cast with your Brocade Robe."

Jin Chanzi closed his eyes tightly and sighed again, saying, "No one can escape from the 'Mustard Tree Within a Mustard Seed.' At least he can't."

Huang Mei asked疑惑地, "Then where did he go?"

After saying that, Huang Mei kicked him in the chest again. Yun Chonghua flew out of the bottle, stepping on Huang Mei and soaring into the air.

The jade bottle flew back to Yun Chonghua's waist.

Yun Chonghua said, "It seems I really have a lot of influence, that Elder Jin Chan could actually use such a great supernatural power."

At this moment, Yun Chonghua looked up at the sky, chuckled, and said, "Although you failed to escape from me, you can't leave now either. You can capture me, but can you capture her?"

As he spoke, Yun Chonghua pointed his halberd to the sky.

Just as Huang Mei was about to hurl insults, a white-clad fairy slowly descended from the distant sky.

The visitor was none other than the White Crane Fairy, the chief steward of Yaochi.

The White Crane Fairy landed slowly and laughed, "What a grand spectacle here. Chonghua! We just parted ways, how did you manage to cause such a big trouble? Even the dignified Elder Jinchan has been alarmed. I wonder what you did to offend Elder Jinchan that made him use such a powerful divine power as 'Mustard Cang' to capture you?"

Although the White Crane Fairy spoke politely, her tone was quite sarcastic, implying that she was accusing Jin Chanzi of bullying the weak.

Then, the White Crane Fairy landed in front of Yun Chonghua, shielding him behind her.

The White Crane Fairy looked at the Golden Cicada before her and smiled, "If this is my younger brother, and he has offended me in any way, I hope Elder Golden Cicada will forgive him!" Although the White Crane Fairy apologized verbally, she did not bow.

Upon seeing the arrival of the Grand Steward of Yaochi, Jin Chanzi was at a loss for what to do.

Yun Chonghua has only recently ascended to the Heavenly Realm and has yet to make a name for himself. Huang Mei Jin Chanzi is unaware of his background, so it would be worthwhile to test his skills against him.

However, the White Crane Fairy before him was a close attendant of the Queen Mother of the West. Even though Jin Chanzi possessed magical powers and a magic weapon to restrain her, he dared not fight her.

Now that the White Crane Fairy is protecting Yun Chonghua, this matter is truly quite difficult to handle.

Just as Jin Chanzi was at a loss for what to do, another auspicious light and colorful clouds drifted in.

A kind and dignified voice came from the sky: "Yes, such a great disturbance. What is the cause?"

Upon hearing the sound, everyone looked in the direction from which it came.

The newcomer had her hair tied in a coiled dragon bun and wore a plain silk robe. Her eyebrows were like crescent moons, her eyes like twin stars, her jade-like face beaming with joy, her lips a touch of red, and a necklace dangling from her neck. In her jade-like hands, she held a willow-shaped vase.

The visitor has a dignified and solemn appearance; just one glance is enough to bring one a sense of peace.

The visitor was none other than Guanyin Bodhisattva, the compassionate and merciful savior of all beings on Mount Putuo in the South China Sea.

Beside the Bodhisattva, a young girl in pink robes carried a pearl.

Upon seeing Guanyin Bodhisattva arrive in person, both Jin Chanzi and Huang Mei bowed respectfully to her.

The White Crane Fairy also bowed to Guanyin Bodhisattva. Seeing this, Yun Chonghua followed suit and bowed as well.

Upon seeing this, the Bodhisattva returned the greeting with a single-handed bow to the crowd.

Jin Chanzi said, "I did not intend to make any noise, but I have disturbed the Bodhisattva's peaceful cultivation. This is truly a sin."

The Bodhisattva remained silent, but immediately used her great supernatural power—the ability to see all the affairs of the heavens and perceive the secrets of the universe—to calculate the cause and effect of the matter with a simple gesture.

Then the Bodhisattva said, "Yellow Eyebrows! Golden Cicada! You two made a bet because of a momentary argument, causing suffering to living beings. This is your sin!"

Upon hearing this, Jin Chanzi and Huang Mei both bowed and said, "Jin Chanzi (Huang Mei) admits his guilt."

Guanyin Bodhisattva smiled at Yun Chonghua and the White Crane Fairy, then said, "Fairy, Divine Lord, this matter is indeed their fault. This humble monk will certainly take them back to Mount Ling and hand them over to the Buddha for judgment. As for the suffering people and the homeless ghosts, this humble monk is also willing to take care of their affairs. May the dead be liberated and the living be blessed."

"However, the matter of punishing these two is of great importance. Could you, for my sake, allow me to take them back to Mount Ling for punishment?"

The White Crane Fairy replied with a smile, "Bodhisattva, this matter has nothing to do with me. The power lies entirely with my younger brother, the Dragon Lord of the Sishui River. I merely came to see what was happening in the mortal realm. This time, I personally descended to the mortal realm, and I turned away all the supervising spirit officials."

After hearing what the White Crane Fairy said, the Bodhisattva nodded in understanding.

Huang Mei and Jin Chanzi exchanged a glance. They had assumed that the powerful Tianlong Divine Lord, who could defeat them both, was a famous general of the Heavenly Court.

But unexpectedly, it was just a minor river-suppressing dragon king. It wasn't even among the four major rivers.

However, the two were also somewhat saddened by the Heavenly Court's "underutilization of talent," as someone with such abilities could only be a minor dragon king.

Then, the Bodhisattva looked at Yun Chonghua with compassionate eyes and asked, "What is your opinion, Divine Lord?"

Yun Chonghua did not rush to answer, but instead looked at the White Crane Fairy beside him.

The White Crane Fairy nodded silently.

After obtaining the White Crane Fairy's consent, Yun Chonghua also put away his weapon.

Yun Chonghua said, "Since the Bodhisattva intends to personally clean up the mess they've made, then Xiaolong has nothing more to say. However, there is one thing I would like to ask the Bodhisattva to grant me."

The Bodhisattva said, "Your Majesty, please speak frankly."

Yun Chonghua replied, "I heard from the City God that the evil deeds committed by those mortals who were bewitched by Huang Mei have been recorded in the accounts of the judges of the underworld. I think that the evil deeds they committed were not originally from their own hearts, but were all due to the bewitching of this scoundrel Huang Mei. I humbly beg the Bodhisattva to have mercy and erase the evil deeds committed by those who were bewitched."

After listening, the Bodhisattva asked, "Is that all?"

Yun Chonghua answered affirmatively, "That's the only way!"

The Bodhisattva listened and nodded with a smile. The Bodhisattva said, "This is something that must be done to clean up the mess for the two of them. Even if the Divine Lord doesn't say anything, this humble monk will handle it himself. Does the Divine Lord have any other requests so that this humble monk can settle the karmic debts of this matter?"

Yun Chonghua shook his head and said, "No. This matter had nothing to do with me. I only got involved because I was asked to rid the people of this scourge. Bodhisattva, please be merciful and let those people, the City God, the Earth God, and all the other ghosts and immortals be forgiven. I ask for nothing more."

After hearing Yun Chonghua's words, the Bodhisattva also greatly admired him.

The Bodhisattva nodded and said, "Very well. In that case, this humble monk thanks the Divine Lord. If there is nothing else, this humble monk will take Jin Chanzi and Huang Mei to Mount Ling to apologize."

Upon hearing this, the White Crane Fairy bowed again to Guanyin Bodhisattva and said, "Please do as you please, Bodhisattva."

Guanyin Bodhisattva didn't say anything more, nodded, and then led Huangmei and Jinchanzi directly to the Western Paradise.
