The next morning, when the young wizards woke up to find that Gryffindor's house points had suddenly increased by fifty points, putting them in the lead in the House Cup, they all asked what had happened the day before.

And so it was announced that Hermione would become the new professor of Ancient Runes' assistant.

Gryffindor was naturally the proudest, but the other houses couldn't help but have some complaints. How could a second-year student who had just started school become a professor's assistant?

Is there some inside story behind this?

Then a terrible scene unfolded on the pitch: Draco Malfoy called Hermione a "Mudblood," and Ron, enraged, used his "half-crippled" wand to cast a curse, only to hit himself instead.

Hermione was very disappointed, but Hagrid comforted her, "He's just jealous, that wicked boy! They haven't even figured out a paper that our Hermione can't write yet!"

But soon, the tide turned. The professor of Ancient Runes produced an extremely long paper as supplementary learning material and distributed it to every young wizard who had chosen the Ancient Runes course, including seventh graders.

This paper was naturally written by Hermione.

Countless senior students tried to find the flaws, but with their level of expertise, they couldn't even find a single mistake.

It's not that Hermione's Ancient Runes level surpasses that of seventh-graders—she hasn't even started learning them yet. Rather, it's that she almost single-handedly reorganized the development history, research directions, major achievements, and theoretical schools of Ancient Runes, updating the information to last year's level.

For nearly thirty years, no one has done this work, and as a result, all those who study ancient runes have outdated knowledge of ancient runes.

That's the real value of Hermione's paper.

Several professors expressed their admiration for the paper on different occasions, especially Professor Flitwick, who nearly fainted from excitement in class.

And so, all the controversy came to an abrupt end. Especially after Hermione's reading list was "kindly" shared by a Gryffindor classmate, the current discourse has shifted from "Hermione is a real genius" to "the new professor is a real freak."

It's not an exaggeration to call a professor who expects a second-year student to read twenty thick books in a week and write seven pages of parchment "abnormal".

Countless young wizards who had chosen the ancient magic script were filled with trepidation.

Professor Felix Heap felt his reputation had been damaged.

Even Professor Snape jumped on the bandwagon, making sarcastic remarks about Neville in his recent Potions class: "With your intelligence, I sincerely advise you not to choose Ancient Runes in your third year. You'll make the professor think he's teaching a troll."

Felix's ancient runes course is also starting to get on track.

Fourth grade class.

"Welcome to the hall of ancient runes. This is our first lesson." Felix looked at the little lion and snake below.

There were also two familiar figures inside: the Weasley twins.

"I don't want to spend too much time reiterating the importance of this course; I've already revealed some information in advance during the open lecture."

"If you aspire to recapture the glory of wizards and decipher the magical mysteries of ancient wizards from obscure magical texts, you need this course;"

"If you aspire to create mystical alchemical artifacts and replicate magical relics from legends and fairy tales, you need this course;"

"If you aspire to study the true meaning of magic and uncover the unique power and glory of wizards, you will also need this course."

Felix watched the young wizards' expressions closely and was slightly pleased to see them unconsciously become solemn. It seemed that this opening line could be repeated a few more times.

"But all of this will start from the basics."

On the platform, Felix waved his wand, and a briefcase suddenly opened, from which dozens of magical puppets flew out and landed precisely in front of the young wizards.

"Cool!" The twins exchanged a glance and exclaimed in unison.

The other young wizards excitedly grabbed the magical puppets, playing with them in their hands, and many even pointed at them with their wands, trying to make them move.

"Given that third and fourth graders are the least concerned about exams, our curriculum will focus on practical application."

There was a cheer from below.

Felix waited a while, letting the young wizards do whatever they wanted with their magical puppets, before continuing, "I think some of you have already discovered that the magical puppets in your hands can't move."

He gave a mysterious smile, full of a certain wicked humor: "—In a sense, they are unfinished products."

The young wizards stared at him blankly.

"That's right, they're unfinished. These magical puppets are missing some key runes at their magic nodes—connection, penetration, balance, and coordination. These are the four types of practical ancient runes you've been working on this semester, a total of 27."

"Once you master it all, you will obtain a true magical puppet."

"Of course, there are also 482 theoretical runes to be added. That's all you'll be learning this year," Felix added.

One of the twins shouted, "Professor, let's get started!"

Felix gave him a satisfied look. Not bad, he even knows how to play the straight man. "Today's lesson will cover four runes related to the function of 'connection.' If you can master them, you'll be able to bring your magical puppets to life."

"Activity?"

"It's just doing some basic movements, like punching, kicking, and rolling."

"Professor, could you teach me more?"

"Of course...no."

Subsequently, the young wizards maintained unprecedented focus in class, each trying to master the four runes as quickly as possible. However, by the end of get out of class, only Fred Weasley had succeeded in part—his puppet could keep waving its right arm, but only the right arm.

"Wesley gets a 10."

As get out of class was about to end, Felix began assigning homework.

"Your homework is to practice the four spells for today. The magic puppets you have are temporarily left with you for practice."

"I hope that in the next lesson, you will all be able to master these four magic runes."

George raised his hand. "Professor, what if the magic puppet breaks?" To be honest, he wanted to take it apart and make a replica.

"Don't worry, I've cast a protective spell."

Felix then added, seemingly out of kindness—

"Due to the protective magic, your magic can only be retained for half an hour, so you understand, practice more."

The young wizards, who were still packing their things, stared blankly at the kind-looking professor.

But this was no problem for the highly capable twins; their focus was elsewhere. Fred asked, "Professor, will you be teaching a new rune next class?"

He couldn't wait to perfect his magical puppet.

"That depends on your overall progress," Felix said ambiguously. In reality, of course, that was impossible; the next class and the one after that were all theory classes. Go and translate the texts!

Do you really think I'm good at herding sheep? Do you think I'll even pass the exam?

Felix's strategy was to lure the young wizard in first, and then he could do whatever he wanted.

"Oh, by the way, I'll be giving a test before Halloween, which includes both theory and practice. The one with the highest combined score will receive a magical puppet that I made myself," Felix said softly, "an upgraded version."

"get out of class dismissed!"

……

The same strategy was repeated over the next few days, and soon the third and fourth-grade wizards were like they'd been injected with adrenaline, developing a fervent interest in learning ancient runes.

After class, everyone had a figurine and would hold a magic wand and gesture at the puppet.

On Friday, Fred Weasley performed a tap dance with his magical puppets before his Transfiguration class, bringing the enthusiasm to a fever pitch.

However, Professor McGonagall was not happy and deducted two points from Weasley's score.
