Blanco paced back and forth in his office, looking agitated and angry. No one would blame him for hiding in the corner and not shielding the director from bullets, but he was furious at his "weakness" on the spot. This anger quickly shifted to other things, such as his anger towards the assassin and his suspicion of another person present—Bai Lin.

"How do you know that this bullet can't be restored with magic?" Blanco asked, as if he had found a clue.

"Because I just encountered a lawbreaker a few days ago on the streets of Cairo. He shot me with a special kind of pistol that can't be stopped by armor," Bai Lin said calmly.

Blanco inquired in detail about Bai Lin's experiences. Upon hearing that magic was ineffective against the spellbreaker's arcane armor, Blanco appeared somewhat arrogant and skeptical, considering it nonsense.

"The Spellbreakers' Guild has existed since the Crusades era. They are skilled in hand-to-hand combat, but I've never heard of the magic-immune armor you mentioned!" Blanco said.

Bai Lin shrugged and said, "This is my personal experience. I can't be sure that the one who launched the attack today was a member of the Spellbreakers. Anyone who gets that kind of weapon could easily kill a wizard."

Blanco had already heard that Bai Lin had saved Elder Ross. Bai Lin hadn't made any mistakes in his actions from beginning to end. After questioning him, Blanco had no choice but to release him. But before leaving, Bai Lin said, "I do have an idea that may not be fully formed."

Blanco frowned and said, "I hope you'll get to the point."

Bai Lin asked, "Assuming that the weapons and armor of the spellbreakers possess a strong repulsive force against magic, capable of rejecting its influence and achieving a state of magic immunity, then how did the assassin manage to escape using magic while carrying such weapons?"

Blanco, a seasoned detective, immediately grasped the crux of the problem and said, "You mean, the assassin might have left the weapon in the opera house?"

Bai Lin said, "Not only will they leave it there, but they'll likely go back to retrieve it. This kind of weapon must be extremely precious and rare; otherwise, the spellbreakers would have already started a magical war!"

"This is already war!" Blanco said in a deep voice.

No wizard has ever studied Muggle firearms, because many wizarding spells can withstand gun attacks. However, Bai Lin is an Earthling who has played FPS games. Although he has never fired a gun himself, he still has some common sense. For example, the gun used in the attack at the opera house has a low rate of fire, a caliber of nearly 8 mm, and astonishing accuracy and power. It should not be a pistol. Bai Lin thought of a gun - the German Mauser Kar98K rifle, which is the famous 98K sniper rifle in later generations.

This gun is 1.1 meters long, making it a large target. If the opera house had surveillance cameras, it would have been easy to find the person who brought it in. Blanco and the Aurors all donned invisibility cloaks, a mass-produced police device woven from the fur of invisible beasts. While its invisibility effect wasn't as perfect as Harry's official invisibility cloak, it was still difficult for anyone who wasn't extremely perceptive to spot it.

Blanco didn't lend Bai Lin a cloak, intending to see him make a fool of himself. However, Bai Lin rolled his eyes and used "Shadow Dissipation" to hide in the shadows, which was just as effective as their invisibility cloaks.

Three Aurors held several good vantage points, while the others entered the opera house. Based on the ballistics of the hit points, they locked their firing position onto the curtain opposite. All they had to do was stick the gun out and shoot at the VIP boxes opposite.

Bai Lin leaned over to take a look and found a rifle inside that was indeed covered with unknown runes. Judging from the style, it was indeed a modified 98K, probably a gun left over from World War II, which had been painstakingly modified into a rune gun.

Blanco nodded to Bai Lin, trying to put the broom box into his wizard's bag, but he was unsuccessful. Even covering the box with the invisibility cloak would cause the cloak to malfunction.

Bai Lin's guess was correct. This kind of secret equipment has a natural repulsion to magical energy, repelling both offensive black magic and defensive or purely convenient white magic.

The group was trying to figure out how to transport the weapon back to the department. Wizards were used to moving by magic, but the weapon might affect the operation of flying brooms and flying cars. So, they would either use Muggle transportation or walk.

At that moment, the Auror who was keeping watch outside sent a signal that a suspicious person had been spotted.

Blanco had one of the Aurors take the broom box backstage, while the others followed Blanco to lie in ambush near the opera house staff entrance. Another Auror, who was acting as lookout, sneaked outside to try and flank the enemy from behind.

Looking out the window, Bai Lin saw an old woman slowly walking down the street, pulling a small garbage cart. The creaking sound of the cart was particularly clear on the street in the early morning.

The old woman slowly walked to the opera house's staff entrance, rummaged through her pockets for a while, and finally pulled out a set of keys. After trying them several times, she finally opened the small door to the entrance.

"Go!" Blanco gave the order, and several Aurors rushed forward.

"Stipfa! (Faints)" Several Aurors unleashed their spells in unison, and several beams of reddish magical energy struck the old woman. Before she could even speak, she was knocked to the ground and fainted.

"It must have been a transformation or a compound potion!" Blanco said confidently. With a wave of his hand, several Aurors surrounded the unconscious old woman and completely subdued her.

Blanco, beaming with delight, waved his hand and said, "Back at headquarters, interrogate this old woman thoroughly!"

Just then, a gunshot rang out from backstage at the opera house. Bai Lin slapped his forehead and exclaimed, "Damn it, we've been lured away!"
