Hogwarts Summoning Guide

As night fell, the zoo closed earlier than the shopping street, as many magical creatures dislike being disturbed at night. Catherine and Drobney were so exhausted they could barely lift their fingers. The two house-elves, however, remained energetic, which made Catherine admire this race that took pride in hard work.

After sending Catherine back to Hogsmeade, Bai Lin still had other matters to attend to. Elder Ross had someone deliver a ticket to Lulu's concert to him, and said that many bigwigs in the wizarding world would be attending, so he must go.

Let alone meeting with some big shots, I'm now bound to the interests of the Ross family, so I have to give them some face.

Upon arriving at the opera house on Charles Street, the concert had already begun, and the venue was packed. Following the waiter's guidance, Bai Lin arrived at Elder Ross's VIP booth. There were several other gentlemen in the same booth, and Bai Lin nodded apologetically to them before sitting down next to the one-eyed Elder Ross.

"Ha! Kerry! I heard the opening of the Magical Zoo was a great success!" Elder Ross patted Bai Lin on the shoulder. On the first day, if each person earned 5 Galleons, the zoo made 25000 Galleons. After deducting all expenses, it made a profit of over 1 Galleons, making it a veritable money tree.

Bai Lin repeatedly declined, knowing that he was still just an employee, a nobody, in front of Elder Ross, at most the best among the nobodies, and that he still had to rely on this uncle for many things.

Elder Ross introduced the gentlemen in the private room to Bai Lin: Woolf, the Director of the Commercial Division of the French Ministry of Magic; Blanco, the Director of the Paris Auror Office; and Miller, the head of the Charles Street office.

Woolf had gray hair, a stout build, and wore gold-rimmed glasses, but her eyes were sharp and shrewd. Blanco and Rufus, the Auror Director of the British Ministry of Magic, were almost identical in style: serious, cold, sharp, and decisive—perhaps this was what the position of Auror Director required. Miller, on the other hand, was a well-mannered gentleman in his thirties with a neatly trimmed mustache. He wasn't Ross's subordinate, but rather a representative of several French nobles. Bai Lin had heard of him from Kaka many times, but this was the first time he had met him.

Elder Ross intended to introduce Bai Lin to the three of them, praising him highly, but Blanco clearly didn't have much goodwill towards Bai Lin. His eyes darted back and forth on Bai Lin, as if trying to find some evidence of a crime.

Lulu's singing began. Although it was a concert, the first few songs were opera selections catering to the upper class and nobility. The melodies were high-spirited and the performance was graceful and impeccable. In the middle section, amidst the cheers and shouts of the young people in the audience, she started singing pop songs. When Bai Lin heard it, he thought, "My God, she would definitely outshine countless Muggle singers." He didn't know that Lulu was also a very famous singer and model in the Muggle world.

As everyone was immersed in Lulu's singing, the old men stopped whispering. Suddenly, Bai Lin felt a strong sense of crisis. At the same time, a pale blue magical shield lit up on the balcony of the opera house. A large-caliber bullet struck the shield, bursting into a burst of golden light.

When the bullets were blocked by the magical shield, everyone heard the gunshots coming from the other side. The audience was obviously stunned for about a second before some timid ladies screamed.

However, a second shot came. The magic shield was like a bulletproof glass. The first bullet had already depleted its protective power, and the second bullet shattered the shield, flying straight towards Elder Ross.

Bai Lin and Blanco suddenly attacked. Blanco pulled out his wand, which glowed with a light blue light that formed a heavy knight's shield in front of him. Bai Lin pushed Elder Ross aside, pulled out his own wand, and unleashed the Black Mist, which instantly enveloped the entire private room.

But the gunman on the other side didn't give up. Instead, he fired wildly at the VIP box in the stands without even needing to aim, while Bai Lin couldn't even pinpoint the gunman's location.

Finally, the security guards reached the vicinity of the assailant, and the shooting finally stopped. However, the guards only saw a figure disappear into thin air, seemingly using a key or something else to teleport away. They couldn't even tell if it was a man or a woman.

Bai Lin dispersed the black mist and looked around. He saw Blanco hiding in a corner, protecting himself tightly with the Magic Knight Shield, while Elder Ross, Miller, and Director Woolf were covered in blood and barely breathing.

Bai Lin rushed to Elder Ross's side. Elder Ross had been shot twice, once in the thigh and once below his left collarbone. The bullets had likely damaged his trachea leading to his left lung. Blood was gushing from Elder Ross's mouth and nose, and the bullet wounds were faintly glowing with an electric current.

Bai Lin knew that the bullet that had injured Elder Ross's trachea had caused blood to rush into his respiratory system, and if he didn't receive immediate treatment, Elder Ross would drown in his own blood within minutes.

"Frost Arrow!" Bai Lin cast an ice spell on the wound below his collarbone with his wand, instantly freezing the blood. He then pressed on Elder Ross's right chest, causing Elder Ross to cough and spit out a lot of blood, but he was finally able to breathe. His one eye stared at Bai Lin, and he nodded slightly.

Meanwhile, Blanco cast a healing spell on the wounded Woolf and Miller, but the spell was useless against the electric bullets, leaving Blanco bewildered.

"These are spellbreaker bullets, specifically designed to deal with wizards! We need Muggle surgeons!" Bai Lin said quickly.

"Too late..." Blanco slowly closed Woolf's eyes; the plump old man was already dead.

Elder Ross's men rushed into the private room, trying to drive Bai Lin away. Elder Ross pointed at Bai Lin, indicating that he should listen to him.

Bai Lin summoned Phineas and instantly Apparated to the nearest Muggle hospital, sending Elder Ross to the emergency room. The chaos at the concert was no longer Bai Lin's concern. Soon after, Kaka arrived at the hospital with many members of the Ross family. The sudden appearance of the crowd startled the Muggles at the hospital, but the situation was quickly brought under control as a wizard cast a mass oblivion spell on the passersby.

The surgery lasted nearly two hours. Finally, the surgeon opened the door and said, "He's saved. The patient is very resilient, but he needs rest. I don't know how you froze his trachea, but it was undoubtedly effective; otherwise, he would have been in danger before even reaching the hospital."

A group of wizards thanked the Muggle doctor profusely, and Kaka walked up to Bai Lin and said, "I've heard about it all. It's fortunate you were here this time, otherwise..."

He grabbed Bai Lin's arm in a very feminine way, which made Bai Lin feel a chill. Seeing his tearful and "touching" appearance, Bai Lin subtly withdrew his arm. He saw in Kaka's eyes a feeling that was different from the butler's feelings for his master, but more like the concern for a family member.

"Master~" Finnis tugged at Bai Lin's sleeve and said, "Mr. Blanco hopes you can cooperate with some of his inquiries. He requests that you go to the French Ministry of Magic..."
