Chapter 64 Zhuo Bi, the Mirror Man

Jade-Handled Dragon was very confident in the sharpness of White Scale, otherwise it wouldn't have been certified by the Pokédex system (for example, White Scale's wand wasn't certified, which is a pity). However, after one strike, White Scale clearly felt that the touch was wrong.

With a loud "bang!", the man in black in front of them shattered like glass; he was a mirror.

However, Bai Lin was not without a backup plan. As the first man in black shattered and the others raised their hands to cast a spell on Bai Lin, Xue Feng, who had been hiding, suddenly pounced out from beside one of the men in black on the other side.

"I don't believe I'm wrong with a 1/2 chance!" Bai Lin thought bitterly.

Xuefeng caught the man in black off guard and pounced on him. However, Bai Lin was wrong again. It was also a mirror. The man in black shattered instantly, turning into glass shards that vanished in an instant.

"Phineas! It's up to you!" Bai Lin summoned a broom and grabbed it, but he was at least two hundred meters away from the third man in black, almost outside the range of all his attack magic.

The last man in black stretched out his hands and drew a large circle in front of him. Instantly, a hemispherical light screen with a radius of three meters enveloped him. The man in black said in a hoarse voice, "I didn't expect you to see through me. As expected of Ross's grandson, you've learned this black magic quite well... Hehehehe..." His accent had a distinct French-English flavor, but Bai Lin understood it very well.

Bai Lin mounted his broom and flew to the man in black, saying, "I'm afraid you've mistaken me for someone else. I only know that Elder Ross has a granddaughter. When did I become his grandson?"

The man in black hesitated for a moment, then said, "Anyway, you're a bandit from the Explorers' family, so killing you wouldn't be unjust!"

Bai Lin raised his wand and said, "Don't think I can't do anything to you just because you're hiding in a turtle shell!"

The man in black chuckled, "You're inside my spatial array. Everything here is under my control. Your dark magic can't break through my magic-resistant spatial barrier. Try it if you don't believe me!"

Bai Lin twirled his wand in his hand and said, "This is what I meant!"

As soon as Bai Lin finished speaking, the man in black suddenly felt something behind him. Before he could turn around, a house-elf jumped from behind him onto his shoulder, and a gleaming silver knife was pressed against his neck.

Forced by the prohibition against using offensive magic, and under Bai Lin's orders and the brainwashing pressure he had received since childhood, Phineas decides to use other methods to help Bai Lin.

While Bai Lin was speaking to distract the man in black, Phineas had already unknowingly used the pixie's unique Apparition ability to slip into the space between the man in black and his surroundings.

As it turns out, even with the magical restrictions imposed by generations of powerful wizards at Hogwarts, house-elves could teleport freely, let alone the defensive magic of the man in black alone. Since he couldn't use offensive magic, Phineas chose to take out a kitchen knife—the sharpest thing he could find.

The man in black never imagined he'd be subdued by a house-elf. Bai Lin shrugged and said, "I'm a member of the Explorer family. I kill without blinking an eye. Don't try to test my patience. Disarm your defenses!"

Phineas pressed the knife down even tighter, and the man in black felt the knife firmly pressing against the carotid artery in his neck. This house-elf was definitely not doing this for the first time!

The man in black immediately backed down and raised his hands in a gesture of surrender. The hemispherical defensive barrier slowly dimmed and disappeared in a short while.

Because Phineas's knife was pressed against the man in black's throat, he could only raise his head, and Bai Lin could see clearly that this was a young wizard who was not yet thirty years old, with a pale face and unknown patterns tattooed on his face, making him look somewhat eerie.

Bai Lin looked into the man in black's eyes and recalled that the man had raised his left hand when casting the spell. Without thinking twice, as his defensive barrier completely disappeared, Bai Lin suddenly aimed at his left hand and shouted, "Disarm me!"

The man in black was horrified. His raised left hand was struck as if by lightning. His black glove shattered into pieces, and a gold ring was forcibly pried off his index finger by a disarming spell and flew away.

With a flick of his white magic wand, the golden ring was summoned into his hand before it even hit the ground.

The man in black cried out in pain, his index finger twisting and bending, looking extremely painful.

Amidst the shouts of the man in black, the spatial rift began to collapse, and the surrounding scenery rapidly returned to its normal state, as if rewinding. A few seconds later, Bai Lin's vision blurred, and he heard the sound of a car horn. He quickly jumped off the broom and retracted the Snow Wind.

Phineas remained perched on the man in black's shoulders, his short legs gripping the man's shoulders tightly. He didn't loosen his grip on the knife in his right hand, but he snapped his fingers with his left hand and vanished.

In just a few seconds, everyone was back at the entrance of Lyon train station. Pedestrians around them looked curiously at the two people blocking the sidewalk. Bai Lin walked up to the man in black with a grin and pulled him away.

Although the man in black cursed Bai Lin with countless nasty words in his heart, he dared not resist him at all, since the knife hidden in Bai Lin's high collar was still pointed at his throat.

"Judging from your accent, you're French. You must have brought some francs, right?" Bai Lin chuckled. The euro hadn't been issued yet in 1993, and he had come in a hurry, carrying only Galleons and a small amount of pounds.

"Huh?" The man in black was taken aback. Bai Lin had already naturally taken out his wallet from his inner pocket, which contained only two pitiful Galleons and 40 Francs.

Bai Lin shrugged and said, "Looks like the Black Witch Society isn't doing too well. I thought you were some big demon because you were dressed so well, but I didn't expect you to be so poor..."

The man in black said angrily, "The Explorers' family are bandits! We, the Black Witch Society, will never submit!"

Bai Lin rolled her eyes and pulled him into a roadside café. 40 francs was enough for two coffees.

"Come, please sit down. I'm very interested in how you view the Explorers family." Bai Lin sat down opposite the man in black, ordered his food with a flourish, and told the cute waitress that the remaining money was for a tip. The girl beamed with joy, while the man in black felt his heart bleed.

"If you want this thing back—Is it called a 'suspension ring'? Then answer the questions honestly! Start with yourself!" Bai Lin took out the ring and saw that the man in black's finger was still trembling with pain. He gave him a "healing" treatment, and the finger was put back in place with a clatter.

"My name is Zobi... nicknamed Mirror Man... I am a descendant of the Milos family... a member of the Black Witch Society..." Zobi, the man in black, stammered.

"Very good, we've made a good start. You see, two gentlemen can solve problems without fighting." Bai Lin said casually. However, when he looked out of the coffee shop's glass window, he saw a familiar figure walking down the street in the distance. But Bai Lin never expected that he knew that person.
