Hogwarts Summoning Guide

Chapter 49 Umbridge Appears

Harry turned around and saw that it was the Auror Laughter with the onion-shaped nose behind him. He had been lying in ambush for a while and was jumping out of the Room of Requirement, disarming Bellatrix in one fell swoop.

Seeing Bai Lin stab Bella to death, Laut touched his nose and said nothing. According to the law, Bella, who was a murderous monster, certainly deserved to die. Bai Lin killed Bella to protect the campus and students, which was understandable, but he still felt that Bai Lin was somewhat ruthless.

As Bai Lin helped the still-shaken Harry to his feet, he glanced at the system notification on the encyclopedia:

Bai Lin was completely bewildered by the task. That's it? They didn't even tell me who the hell the Soul Mentor was!

However, after displaying these words, the back of the ancient book returned to a blank state, showing no intention of giving Bai Lin an automatic pathfinding function.

"Professor, is it over?" Harry asked, still somewhat shaken, looking at Bella's brutally murdered body on the ground.

Bai Lin shook his head and said, "She's just a pawn of the Dark Lord..."

At this moment, Black and Lupin also caught up and saw Bai Lin repairing Harry's glasses, while Lauter picked up Bella's wand and broke it in half with one hand.

"It's over. Bella is dead. You can go back to the Blake family's old mansion now!" Bai Lin patted Blake on the shoulder.

Black looked at Bella, who had died with a longsword through her chest, and sighed softly. Bella was his cousin, but she had almost wiped out his family. He considered her his nemesis, but seeing her defeated and dead today still made him feel a little sad. However, he had someone more important to take care of. He stepped forward and hugged the still-shaken Harry, and the father and son showed victorious smiles.

With Bella dead, the black snitch she released also lost its magic. The children took it out one by one and threw it on the ground. The children with their mouths gagged, like Professor McGonagall, wished they could brush their teeth a hundred times immediately, as the strange smell would probably keep them from eating for days.

Bai Lin found Catherine, who hugged him tightly. If Harry and Laut hadn't coordinated in time, Bai Lin would have had to summon the mandrake to block the bullet. If that hadn't worked, he would have been in grave danger. It sounds simple, but it was a close call with death.

Professor McGonagall, suppressing her nausea, struggled to get the students back to their dormitories and arranged for the prefects and student leaders to calm them down.

As Bella's body was carried downstairs by Filch, and several house-elves cleaned up the bloodstains in the corridor, the students still discussed among themselves.

"But next time we go to the Forbidden Forest, all the students should be able to see the Thestrals, right..." When he taught the lesson about Thestrals before, most students couldn't see them at all. At that time, Bai Lin thought: I can't just kill someone in front of you just so you can see the Thestrals, can I? Well, his words came true.

The machine that blocked all communications at Hogwarts was the Magic Cannon. As dawn broke, Professor McGonagall, the vice-principal who hadn't slept all night, finally contacted Dumbledore and the Ministry of Magic. By the time the sun rose, the fourth group of Aurors and Ministry of Magic officials had arrived.

Bai Lin had just taken a short nap on the sofa in the dorm when Blake woke him up, saying, "Umbridge's here, and she might be up to something!"

"Umbridge?" Bai Lin was stunned for a moment before remembering this person. She was a long-standing member of the Ministry of Magic. No matter how many ministers came and went, she remained the deputy minister. She was also the most deeply hidden among the Death Eaters. However, because she did not have the Dark Mark on her arm, she was sentenced to life imprisonment in the original book for repeatedly cooperating with Voldemort.

However, Bai Lin currently has no evidence to bring down this somewhat annoying woman, and she is Fudge's confidante. She was even assigned to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts when Harry was in his fifth year. Of course, Bai Lin is also considered Fudge's confidante now. Logically speaking, it would be unwise for Umbridge to cause trouble for him through proper channels.

He quickly washed his face, glanced at Catherine who had stayed in his dorm last night, and gently kissed her cheek. Last night had really exhausted this 19-year-old girl; she had been casting spells until she was mentally and physically drained. However, Catherine had also fully proven herself, proving that she was not only a highly skilled tailor but also a witch with great potential.

While chewing on a slice of toast, Bai Lin hurried to a small enclosure outside the castle. From afar, he saw a short, stout old woman wearing a fluffy pink cardigan, standing in front of a pile of Death Eater corpses, babbling on and on. Around her stood a large group of Aurors, including Dumbledore, Flitwick, McGonagall, Snape, and Laut, as well as officials from the Ministry of Magic.

Seeing Bai Lin approach, Dumbledore narrowed his eyes and beckoned to him. Bai Lin naturally stood beside Dumbledore. Dumbledore winked at him, his eyes filled with affirmation, encouragement, and gratitude.

Umbridge did not stop speaking because of Bai Lin's arrival. Bai Lin also wanted to see what she was up to. After listening, she understood that Umbridge almost never mentioned the Death Eaters' crimes of bombing Hogwarts with cannons, directly breaking into the school and using dark magic items on students, and hunting down Harry. Instead, she talked the whole time about Dumbledore's unauthorized sheltering of dangerous people (referring to Black) on campus, which led to this "tragedy".

The so-called tragedy was the death of 23 wizards (6 of whom were killed by Black and Lupin, while Whitescale was not involved). According to the investigation, the vast majority of them did not have the Dark Mark. Umbridge believed that they were either Black's enemies or bounty hunters who had not been able to clear Black's name. Bella was an accidental infiltration of this group and was not a terrorist attack by the Death Eaters.

She even suspected that the Magic Cannon was a staged event orchestrated by Dumbledore himself, threatening him to hand it over and accept a special investigation by the Ministry of Magic.
