"The Crucifix has a range of about 20 meters, and the Killing Curse has a range of about 30 meters!" Catherine said to Bai Lin.

"Look what I've learned from the Mongol cavalry!" Bai Lin ignored Bella's anger and dashed into the woods.

Bai Lin moved forward in a zigzag pattern through the forest, constantly swaying up, down, left, and right, making it impossible for the pursuers to aim their killing spells. Meanwhile, Catherine's series of marbles grew larger—shattering into pieces, yet dealing area-of-effect damage like an AOE attack, occasionally blasting Death Eaters off their brooms.

However, the Death Eaters weren't fools; they quickly donned armor to protect themselves. With the protective charms, the broken glass could no longer harm them.

Bai Lin wasn't going to be foolish enough to keep throwing marbles. He spotted a Death Eater who had chased him to his right. Because of the occasional trees blocking the view, the man was looking for an opportunity to attack. Without turning his head, he pointed in Bai Lin's direction and said: "Summon Shadowfiend!"

Instantly, countless strands of dark energy flew in from all directions. Although they did not entangle the Death Eater's body, they did entangle the broom under his crotch. The broom was forced to brake suddenly, and the Death Eater tumbled forward.

"Frostbolt!" Catherine waved her wand and cast an Ice Spell on the Death Eater who had fallen off his broom.

The night was already very cold in winter, and the Death Eater had no way to dodge in the air. He was frozen into an ice sculpture by the Frost Curse and crashed heavily onto a large rock, shattering into pieces.

On the other side, five or six men in black robes were setting up a dark iron box on a hillside about two or three kilometers away from Hogwarts. Three iron pipes, each about the thickness of a bowl, protruded from the box. Two men in black robes were operating the numerous instruments, buttons, and knobs behind the box.

"Accumulate magical energy! Insert the energy stone!" the black-robed man commanded.

Another man in black robes quickly poured three faintly glowing stones from a small package and stuffed them into the funnel opening next to the iron box.

Soon, the iron box began to tremble slightly, and then the instruments on it started spinning rapidly. The mercury pump beside it rose steadily, and when it reached the red line, the black-robed man operating it pulled a handle, blasting three large fireballs from the three cannons, which flew towards Hogwarts Castle in the distance.

This iron box is clearly a magic cannon, much like the cannons in the Muggle world. The difference is that it can be encased in magic and stored inside, and can be taken out at any time and set up in any open space.
