Hogwarts Summoning Guide

Chapter 397 Heroes and Anti-Heroes

Renowned author Bai Linshuo has joined the platform with his new work, "Hogwarts Summoning Guide"!

Hecilis glanced at Bai Lin and chuckled. He hadn't encountered such an arrogant young man in at least a decade. Many Eastern mages who traveled across the ocean to America thought they could make a name for themselves here, but reality always gave them a resounding slap in the face.

Eastern wizards arriving in America will have their wands confiscated immediately. They usually need to obtain residency through investment and work, and then spend several years to obtain American citizenship before they can live in the wizarding community.

Even so, many mages still cannot reclaim their wands and suffer unfair treatment. If you change your mind, sorry, you'll need to pay an exorbitant exile tax to return to the East.

Under these circumstances, it's easy to imagine how these Western wizards would respect Eastern sorcerers, even though Hysiris knew that Bai Lin was a member of the Seekers family and even knew that Voldemort died at Bai Lin's hands.

Voldemort, considered a nightmare in Europe, a demon lord whose name is not even mentioned, is not very famous in America. Most wizards just regard him as a powerful dark wizard. Such evil dark wizards are as numerous as hairs on a cow in America.

Hysiris grinned, flicked his cigarette ash, and before he could say anything, his two silver-masked henchmen beside him rose up in fury, their wands flashing out like a Western cowboy duel, and they unleashed a spell at Bai Lin.

But before they could finish their incantation, Bai Lin made his move first. Without any visible action, two pale purple ice crystals condensed around him, spinning and dispersing rapidly. In the blink of an eye, they flew to the six guards, passing through their defensive spells without any hindrance, and gently touched their chests, giving them no chance to resist.

Pale purple ice crystals spread out like a ripple. When Hysiris looked closely, his men had already turned into hard ice sculptures. The two men who had attacked him were still in the position of pointing their wands forward, their faces full of terrified expressions.

The girls around Hysiris were terrified, but they continued to trim his nails with pale faces, their bodies trembling uncontrollably.

Hysiris's face turned pale instantly. He threw his cigar aside and reached for his wand, but somehow, several sharp ice crystals as long as pens had surrounded him. He had no doubt that if he made the slightest movement, these ice crystals would pierce his body.

"Let's talk this out! The Ross family and I have never had any enmity, so why should we start fighting as soon as we meet?" Hesiris said, feigning composure.

"Not at all, Uncle Hesilis," Bai Lin's smile remained unchanged. He shrugged and said, "You'd better give up on the magic mechanism under the table. Even if your magic defenses are ten times stronger, I can easily break through them. Even if you find the door key on your left, I can crack the teleportation anchor point on it and catch up with you in a few seconds."

Hesiris was startled and unconsciously looked at the lighter on his left. He had never told anyone that it was a door key, his only means of escape in the most urgent situations, but Bai Lin saw through it at a glance.

But the lighter was surrounded by ice elements before his eyes, turning into a small scene inside a crystal ball.

"What do you want!" Hecilis kicked the girl away, sat up straight, his domineering aura vanished, and he said dejectedly.

"You've misunderstood. I really have come to seek refuge with you, but I think you won't take me too seriously unless I demonstrate my abilities." Bai Lin waved his hand, and the ice elements distributed throughout the room instantly dissipated, freeing his six frozen subordinates from their icy state.

As soon as the frozen state was lifted, two beams of magical light burst forth from the hands of the two who had made the move. However, they were only a meter or so away from Bai Lin, and the magical energy sprayed out like water guns hitting a glass window. The magical energy scattered and splashed everywhere, but it could not penetrate Bai Lin's water shield at all.

Hysiris glared at his subordinates, his expression completely changed, as if the tense standoff had been an illusion. He casually had the girls help him put on his socks and shoes, then walked to Bai Lin's side and patted Bai Lin's arm very warmly, saying:

"What a talented young man! It's a blessing for the Explorers' family to have such a powerful younger generation!"

After their recent exchange, Hysiris's subordinates became much more polite to Bai Lin. Strong individuals always have their own way of communicating, no matter where they go.

Hysiris enthusiastically showed Bai Lin around his wizarding clubhouse. Only then did Bai Lin realize that the place outside where Muggle celebrities gathered was just an auction of antiques and artworks from various countries, while the wizarding clubhouse was Hysiris's real business.

"Shall I arrange a female companion for you? Take your pick," Hesilis said casually, pointing to the beautiful women in the club.

"I have no interest in ordinary women," Bai Lin retorted lightly.

"Ha," Hesilis raised an eyebrow, looking like he recognized a hero's worth, and led Bai Lin into a spacious hall.

"Sir Hesilius has arrived at the venue!" the butler announced loudly at the door.

The previously noisy hall fell silent instantly. The auctioneer on the central platform stopped his presentation and descended from the stage with a fawning expression. Guests turned their attention to the entrance; gentlemen removed their hats and nodded in acknowledgment, while ladies lifted their skirts with one hand and bowed respectfully. It was a scene of utmost deference.

Everyone was puzzled to see Haixilis walking side by side with Bai Lin, wondering where this young talent came from and dared to sit on equal footing with a big shot like Haixilis.

Hysiris waved his hand smugly and said, "Please make yourselves at home. I have no intention of interrupting your enjoyment. I'm just showing my nephew around."

The guests gasped in amazement, their gazes toward Bai Lin becoming intense.

Bai Lin smiled slightly at everyone and nodded in return. Only then did he notice what the items on the auction stage were. They were clearly several dark elves with long ears, their hands and feet bound by magical ropes, standing naked with lifeless eyes in a row, obviously under the control of the Soul-Stealing Curse.

The bunny girl next to the auctioneer had already raised her paddle for 1200 Galleons for a Dark Elf.

"Interested? I'll give you one." Hesilis said in a low voice. The old man had a wicked smile on his face, which made Bai Lin feel a chill. He thought that this old guy was just selling some contraband such as unicorn hair and dragon horns. Who knew that he would go straight for such a shocking business? Not to mention that dark elves are already an extremely endangered species, the enslavement of demi-human creatures is a double taboo against the law, but here it is commonplace.

Before Bai Lin could reply, a sense of danger suddenly gripped him. He looked up sharply and saw that the beautiful stained-glass skylight had been smashed to pieces by some huge object.

Immediately afterwards, a black figure descended from the sky, unfurling a wide black cloak.

"Holy crap, Batman???"
