Hogwarts Summoning Guide

Chapter 251 The Black Heart

However, he soon discovered that the water shield that Bai Lin had cast on him was the nemesis of fire magic. It could even withstand Fujiwara Ichiura's curse, let alone ordinary magical flames. At the same time, Bai Lin's figure had already appeared beside him. In a place where Edogawa Hiroyuki could not see, Sifugar's figure had locked onto Shuten-dōji. Even though the fog covered the entire cave, Bai Lin could accurately find his location.

"Summon: Shadow Chains! Summon: Orgrimmar's Fist!" Bai Lin swiftly unleashed two summoning spells, and instantly countless black chains emerged from the spatial rifts in all directions. Shuten-dōji was like someone caught in a spider web, instantly bound firmly in mid-air by dozens of chains. His eyes blazed with fury, and he roared as he strained every ounce of strength in his body, but he still couldn't break free from the chains.

Looking at Shuten-dōji's taut, bulging muscles and his face, now completely transformed into a demon, Bai Lin couldn't help but give him a piece of his mind: "The mighty Demon King of Mount Ōe has now stooped to being a lackey of a lewd human man. How pathetic and lamentable!"

Sure enough, Shuten-dōji almost coughed up blood upon hearing this, but before he could even start cursing, two enormous arms, each over three meters long, sprouted from Bai Lin's shoulders. They grabbed Shuten-dōji's wrists and forcibly pulled him off the gourd.

Looking at Bai Lin's face so close to his own, Shuten-dōji suddenly smiled knowingly. His body suddenly changed drastically, his upper body seemed to stretch more than a meter in an instant, and his arms and shoulders were stretched like soft mud. He opened his mouth wide, which was even bigger than Yukikaze's mouth, and directly covered Bai Lin's head and face.

At such close range, just as Shuten-dōji was about to strike, a move he had used to devour many people, Bai Lin was naturally on guard. With a flick of her staff, Shuten-dōji bit into a golden shield, nearly breaking all his old teeth.

"Looks like you won't be satisfied unless I beat you up!" Bai Lin sneered. Aug released Shuten-dōji's arms, which had grown longer and thinner, and without saying a word, he aimed a heavy punch at the enlarged demon head.

A straight punch to the face, a left hook to the chin, a chop to the neck, followed by an elbow strike—the combination of punches nearly knocked the still tightly bound Shuten-dōji out of his mind. His eyes were bloodshot, and he seemed to be furious. But Bai Lin's combo punches didn't seem to have caused him any real damage. His head was like clay; after being beaten up, it slowly grew back on its own.

"Brother Bai! That's not his true form! His true form should be one of the gourds!" Edogawa Hiroyuki shouted from the side. Although he was amazed by Bai Lin's various strange methods, his mind was working non-stop. When Bai Lin was beating up Shuten-dōji, he noticed that the two gourds, one red and one white, were not affected by the attack on Shuten-dōji's body. Now, the two gourds had automatically flown behind Shuten-dōji, as if they wanted to find an opportunity to escape.

Bai Lin was startled. With a thought, two dark chains immediately bound the two gourds. Xue Feng rushed over and pressed the large black gourd that he was using as a mount to the ground.

Bai Lin chuckled and threw a powerful punch at the large black gourd. This punch was the full force of the giant Aug, with at least 3 to 4 tons of power. Even if the gourd was made of steel, this punch would crush it.

Surprisingly, the punch did not shatter the gourd, but the floor slab could not withstand the weight. Bai Lin lost his footing and fell down the building facade along with the broken floor slab.

This finally gave Shuten-dōji an opportunity. His body melted into black mud like a candle meeting fire, while the three gourds transformed into three beams of light that converged in the air into a fist-sized black gourd, which shot into the depths of the cave like an arrow and disappeared without a trace.

Bai Lin was certainly not buried by a few concrete slabs, but his vision went black as the Water Source Shield pushed aside the falling debris. When he opened his eyes again, he found himself in a huge storage room.

Although Bai Lin's body was enveloped by the Water Source Shield, he still felt a chill. This storage room should be around zero degrees Celsius. Looking around, more than a dozen large boxes, each over two meters tall, were neatly arranged not far away. Many flexible tubes and cables extended from the boxes, and one could faintly hear subtle breathing sounds coming from inside the boxes.

Bai Lin was all too familiar with this scene. It was clearly a bioweapon incubator, exactly like the laboratory warehouse in the movie where "Lickers" were cultivated.

"Brother Bai! Are you alright?" Edogawa Hiroyuki poked his head out of the large hole in the roof and called down. Seeing that Bai Lin was unharmed, he was slightly relieved and nimbly jumped down from the roof.

Bai Lin put away the Fist of Orgrimmar and carefully examined the storage room. The walls were reinforced with steel plates, and there were various instruments and screens all around, which seemed to have surpassed the technological level of this era. However, for Bai Lin, who had traveled back from the 21st century, there was nothing surprising about it.

An instrument on the wall detected the rising indoor temperature and began to light up a red light and sound a warning siren. Bai Lin knew that the rising temperature might cause the creatures in the incubation chamber to awaken prematurely. It wasn't that he was afraid the Ship of Light would create some kind of bio-monster; even if they created a group of tyrants, Bai Lin was confident that he could annihilate them all. However, he was still very vigilant about these zombie viruses. If he were to be infected without realizing it, he would have nowhere to turn.

Seeing that the Water Shield on Edogawa Hiroyuki's body was still intact, he pointed to the large hole above his head, and a surge of ice elemental energy immediately sealed the hole, preventing the cold air in the room from leaking out.

"What are all these?" Hiroyuki Edogawa walked up to a culture chamber with great curiosity and craned his neck to see what was inside.

"Biological weapons..." Bai Lin replied casually, "Be careful, it would be a real problem if they were released... Do you know how to use these devices?"

Edogawa Hiroyuki stared for a long time but still couldn't figure out what was inside the incubation chamber. After hearing Bai Lin's words, he scratched his head and said, "I'll give it a try!" He then began to study the monitoring equipment next to him that was constantly refreshing data.

Bai Lin, however, was drawn to something deep inside the storage room: a transparent glass culture chamber, not very big, only slightly larger than a basketball, placed on a high-tech-looking equipment platform.

The culture chamber was filled with a gel-like transparent liquid, but in the very center was a fist-sized black object. Bai Lin walked up to it and saw that the object actually twitched on its own; it was a living thing.

Just as Bai Lin was realizing that this thing was entering a blind spot in his knowledge, the Summoning Encyclopedia sent him a timely message:

A special biological organism has been discovered: the Black Heart, originating from a mysterious underground creature. The system is currently comparing it with the Universal Tree of Life database.
