Chapter 165 Fishing in Troubled Waters
Seeing that the Night Shadow Dragon seemed to have grown even larger, Karkaroff's pure black magic was practically a gift to him.
A dark figure shot in from outside the arena, and Bai Lin caught it—it was his "Fire Arrow".
"Leave it to me, professors, stand back!" Bai Lin shouted, already flipping onto the broom and soaring into the air.
If several principals were watching, Bai Lin would indeed have a hard time performing, but it's obviously even more impossible for everyone to turn a blind eye.
Having absorbed the black ice, the Nightshade Dragon became even more frenzied. After letting out two furious roars, it began to fly around the arena, frantically spewing "Annihilation Lightning" towards Bai Lin and the stands, probably because it felt that this move was more destructive.
The wizards from the Ministry of Magic were so frightened that they dared not step forward to control the situation. Instead, they ran in the direction that Old Barty had retreated. One of the wizards happened to run into the range of the lightning. After a loud bang, he was blown to ashes and became the first person to die in this Triwizard Tournament. He didn't even leave his name behind.
Seeing the scene of those struck by lightning and reduced to nothingness, Dumbledore knew that this had far exceeded the scope of the "game" and thought to himself: Sure enough, nothing good ever happens to Kaelin!
"Retreat! Evacuate all the students outside the arena!" Dumbledore shouted to McGonagall and Snape. Maxim also immediately evacuated the stands. She waved her wand, and a shield with iridescent colors formed in front of her. Strangely, although her shield looked very conspicuous, Nightshade Dragon seemed to be completely unable to see her.
The explosion caused by lightning enveloped the entire arena in smoke and dust. While manipulating his broom to dodge the attacks, Bai Lin used his left hand to gather magic power and secretly released "Black Mist Spreads". He needed the muddy waters to fish in.
Although the black mist is also black magic, the Nightshade Dragon did not absorb it. Bai Lin thought that it would only absorb offensive magic with relatively dense energy. It would not take a sleight of hand like the black mist, which has extremely thin energy.
Black mist and smoke mingled, and Bai Lin took the opportunity to extinguish several braziers around the arena, plunging it into darkness, with only the silhouette of the Night Shadow Dragon faintly visible under the starlight.
Bai Lin transformed into a black shadow, darted into the black mist with a whoosh, and swiftly approached the Night Shadow Dragon. He rushed to its belly and unleashed the Orgrimmar Fist without hesitation.
From an angle that even Old Deng in the stands couldn't see clearly, a gigantic fist shot out from a spatial rift, slamming into the Night Shadow Dragon's belly like a cannonball.
The force was so powerful that even Bai Linguang could tell it was enough to make the Night Shadow Dragon vomit up its breakfast from the previous day. Because of the close distance, Aug's punch, with its force of at least several tons, created a huge dent in the Night Shadow Dragon's belly. If the Night Shadow Dragon had the internal organs of a normal dragon, it would definitely have been seriously injured.
However, the Night Shadow Dragon was no ordinary dragon. It let out a miserable cry, but did not suffer a fatal blow. Both heads charged at Bai Lin at the same time. Judging from its posture, it was so angry that it did not want to blast Bai Lin into ashes with lightning, but wanted to "personally" bite him into pieces.
"I've been waiting for your head!" Bai Lin shouted coldly. Aug's arm did not disappear immediately. Instead, under Bai Lin's command, it delivered a beautiful right hook to one of the heads of the Night Shadow Dragon that was charging at him. The feeling of that punch hitting flesh made Bai Lin feel as if he could hear the sound of Night Shadow Dragon's teeth being shattered.
"Front teeth are like big sticks!" With his other hand, Bai Lin mobilized over a hundred points of his magic power and unleashed this quirky spell on the Night Shadow Dragon's other gaping maw.
The Nightshade Dragon's mouth was filled with layers upon layers of sharp teeth, probably numbering in the thousands. These teeth grew wildly, stretching its other massive jaw so much that it almost dislocated its lower jaw, and some even pierced into the flesh of its upper jaw.
"Let's see how you swallow me!" Bai Lin controlled the Fist of Orgrimmar to deliver a sweeping blow, leaving the dragon's head, which could no longer close its jaws, dazed and disoriented. Then, he roared at the Night Shadow Dragon's neck, "Divine Strike Without a Trace!"
An invisible wind blade, like the sword energy unleashed by a master swordsman in a video game, slashed fiercely across the Night Shadow Dragon's neck, instantly tearing its skin and flesh open, exposing the bone.
Bai Lin flew onto the back of the Night Shadow Dragon, and Orgrim's Fist slammed down on the Night Shadow Dragon's spine from top to bottom.
The Nightshade Dragon's massive body plummeted like a kite with a broken string, landing heavily in the center of the arena.
Even from a distance, Dumbledore couldn't see what move Bai Lin used. It was as if he had taken a huge, pillar-like object and easily defeated Nightshade Dragon. Karkaroff stared blankly, lost in thought.
After Night Shadow Dragon fell to the ground, he tried to raise his head to resist, but White Scale had already descended from the sky and landed on his back. With a "whoosh!", he drew his longsword and slashed Night Shadow Dragon's spine.
"Submit to me! Otherwise, I'll send you to your grave right now!" Bai Lin roared.
The Night Shadow Dragon tried to flip over and use the claws on its huge wings to sweep the White Scale off its back.
Bai Lin's sword struck the base of the Night Shadow Dragon's wing, causing its claws to droop limply. However, the Night Shadow Dragon showed no sign of submission and continued to strike Bai Lin with its other claw. Bai Lin was speechless. This evil monster was completely incapable of communication; it was filled with destruction and slaughter, and even when facing absolute suppression, it still only wanted to attack.
Bai Lin, gripping the sword embedded in the Night Shadow Dragon's muscles, flipped over to dodge its massive claws, performed a graceful mid-air spin, and leaped back onto the dragon's back. He shouted at the stuck sword, "Grow bigger, all of you!"
Under his magic, the Jade-Handled Dragon was enlarged to nearly three times its original size, resembling a giant guillotine. Bai Lin raised it high, grabbed the hilt, and used his weight to cut the enormous sword down.
This time, the Night Shadow Dragon's spine was cleaved open. Although it didn't spit out blood like a flesh and blood creature, the Night Shadow Dragon's body completely lost its vitality after its spine was destroyed. It collapsed to the ground helplessly, with only its two large heads panting heavily, seemingly filled with endless anger and resentment.
"Seal!" Bai Lin instructed the Summoning Compendium to seal the Night Shadow Dragon.
A golden light shone on the already dying two-headed Night Shadow Dragon, and in a short while, the huge beast turned into a stream of light and disappeared.
Bai Lin looked at the system notification:
Successfully sealed the alien black magic summon, the Two-Headed Night Shadow Dragon, increasing the Summoning Encyclopedia's computing power by 08.
For unknown reasons, the Two-Headed Nightshade Dragon cannot be summoned.

Dumbledore and Karkaroff stared intently at the dusty, foggy arena, listening to the roars of the Nightshade Dragon and the sounds of battle. They were unsure of the situation, but just by listening to the sounds, they knew that the Nightshade Dragon was completely at a disadvantage and was being overwhelmed by the White Scales.
"This kind of magic...is extremely rare..." Karkaroff murmured.
Dumbledore glanced at Karkaroff, neither confirming nor denying, his eyes deep and thoughtful.
Born in 1881, Grindelwald was over a hundred years old. In his long life, he encountered countless brilliant wizards, two of whom were considered once-in-a-century talents, but ultimately became his enemies. (Grindelwald and Tom Riddle)
However, among these geniuses, Bai Lin was the one he couldn't understand the most. He was deep and calculating, seemingly having everything under control, and brimming with confidence, making him completely unfathomable. When he first met him last year, although Bai Lin was also young, handsome, sunny, and confident, Old Deng clearly sensed that Bai Lin's magical power wasn't high, and he didn't exude any dark magic aura. But now, if he hadn't seen him with his own eyes, but only sensed his aura, Bai Lin's dark magic was no less than Voldemort's.
This feeling greatly worried Dumbledore, even alarmed him. Bai Lin was only in his early twenties. If he suddenly developed ambitions when he was forty, he would be several times more destructive than Voldemort.
Regardless of Dumbledore's complex emotions, as the commotion gradually subsided and the smoke and mist dissipated, Bai Lin's figure leaped up from the scene, riding a broomstick to stand before Dumbledore.
"It's solved!" Bai Lin said, holding a slightly deformed golden egg in his hand. The Night Shadow Dragon had just crashed to the ground and crushed the golden egg.
"Where's that beast?" Karkaroff stepped forward, staring intently at the now much clearer arena, and asked with some surprise.
He had hoped to deduce from the wounds on the Night Shadow Dragon what magic Bai Lin had used to subdue this behemoth. However, the area was filled only with scattered ruins of sand and gravel, with no sign of the Night Shadow Dragon.
"He vanished!" Bai Lin said solemnly and seriously, "I was just about to use my sword to kill Night Shadow Dragon when he suddenly disappeared without a trace!"
Dumbledore rolled his eyes. It was no secret at Hogwarts that the White Scales could seal creatures; at least Hagrid and Black had seen it with their own eyes. Dumbledore had naturally heard about it, but of course he wouldn't expose it in front of Karkaroff.
Bai Lin wiped the sword in his hand clean with a handkerchief, and then pretended to explain, "This guy isn't afraid of black magic, but he is afraid of swords. I made the sword bigger, and it was no match for him. Although this beast isn't much of a problem for me, I still have to complain. Why use such an evil beast in a friendly match..."
Dumbledore and Karkaroff were both somewhat embarrassed, because the instigator, Barty the Elder, had long since disappeared, and the deceased Ministry of Magic staff were like insignificant specks of dust, as if they had never existed at all.
Seeing Bai Lin's calm and collected demeanor, as if he had them completely under his thumb, Dumbledore felt he deserved a beating. However, there was nothing he could do; as the organizers, the Ministry of Magic and Hogwarts would naturally be responsible for cleaning up the mess.
Bai Lin rode his broomstick back to Hogwarts. Harry and the other three champions, along with other judges and many students, were waiting for them at the castle gates. Upon seeing Bai Lin's safe return, several figures excitedly rushed forward to greet him.
Bai Lin saw Catherine's figure and took a few steps forward, but seemed to realize something and stopped, retreating back into the crowd in Beauxbatons. However, Yu Qian didn't have so many concerns and rushed into Bai Lin's arms. Harry and Cedric also stepped forward to congratulate Bai Lin.
Seeing Yuxi being affectionately patted on the head by Bai Lin, Catherine felt a pang in her heart. Hermione, on the other hand, also pouted, looking quite displeased.
The students weren't particularly enthusiastic, because they hadn't seen the two-headed night shadow dragon and didn't know that someone had already died a gruesome death. They just felt that Bai Lin's victory was to be expected, since the previous four students had won without much effort. They simply thought that the fire dragon wasn't anything special.
Only Barty the Elder looked shocked, even pale. White Scale nodded and smiled at him with elegance and politeness. Surrounded by Hufflepuff and Gryffindor students, they sang their own songs (after all, the two houses sang their own songs) as they entered the Great Hall.
After enjoying a hearty meal, Bai Lin stopped Snape in the Slytherin corridor.
Snape looked wary. He and Bai Lin were not exactly friends, but they were both members of the Order of the Phoenix. They were not enemies either, but their relationship was rather complicated.
Bai Lin waved to the Slytherin students beside him, and the Slytherin students, just like the students from other houses who had faced Snape, all ran away in a flash.
"To make a long story short, I want to find something from your private herb warehouse," Bai Lin said bluntly.
Snape frowned, adopting a distant demeanor: "Kaylin White, I don't think we have that kind of relationship."
"I won't take it for free," Bai Lin said, taking out some trinkets he had gotten from Karkaroff. These were all extremely rare potion ingredients, found only in the north, which even Snape would have difficulty obtaining. "It's just a small transaction; I'm not taking advantage of you."
Snape's pupils dilated. Although his expression and movements didn't change much, Bai Lin could clearly sense that Snape was very interested.
Snape's eyelids drooped, and he said, seemingly dissatisfied, "I need to know your purpose."
After thinking for a moment, Bai Lin decided to tell him the whole story. He had heard that someone was going to steal his treasures. Snape frowned and finally agreed to let Bai Lin tamper with some herbs.
Although Barty the Elder, as the Director of the Department of Magic, has very high authority and getting his hands on Polyjuice Potion would certainly not be difficult, Bai Lin still felt that, either to keep a low profile or out of confidence in his skills, he would probably still make it himself, and perhaps even rob Snape's warehouse like Moody did in the original story.
After planting a landmine for Old Barty, Bai Lin hummed a little tune as he returned to the faculty dormitory in Hufflepuff, only to find Karkaroff pacing back and forth in the corridor, seemingly waiting for him.
"You have to teach my students something special!" Karkaroff said bluntly.
"Do you need me to draw up a price list for you? The prices vary depending on the spell," Bai Lin said casually.
Karkaroff said resentfully, "I'll teach you the move that defeated the Two-Headed Night Shadow Dragon. Don't mention swords or blades. I saw it. What's with that huge arm?"
"I'm afraid... you're seeing things." Bai Lin gave a smug laugh, walked past Kakarov, and headed into the dormitory.
