Hogwarts Summoning Guide
Chapter 162 will be more difficult.
Five brave warriors entered the backstage area, followed by the judges, leaving behind a noisy and chaotic scene of teachers and students.
Bai Lin greeted Fu Rong and Cedric in a friendly manner. Fu Rong smiled sweetly at him, but Cedric leaned closer, looking puzzled. "Professor? Why?"
Bai Lin patted him on the shoulder and said, "I'm not here to compete with you for the championship. I bet even the school I graduated from doesn't know what the Goblet of Fire is!"
"Professor, did you put my name in?" Harry asked, looking troubled. It wasn't that he was afraid of the challenge, but he couldn't stand the gossip from his classmates. He felt like he had unintentionally betrayed his friends, and perhaps Ron felt the same way.
"Please, why should I vote for you! You have to give me at least some trust, Harry!" Bai Lin said seriously.
As they were talking, Dumbledore, arguing with the other judges, burst into the room. He first glared fiercely at Bai Lin, though Bai Lin didn't take it seriously at all.
Dumbledore rushed to Harry's side and grabbed his shoulder, startling Harry, who had never seen Dumbledore so out of control.
"You didn't put your name in, did you? And you didn't ask an older student to put your name in for you, did you?" Dumbledore asked urgently.
"I didn't, Professor!" Harry said firmly.
"Lies!" Karkaroff spat out the word. Maxim was clearly unwilling to believe it either. After all, their school only produced one champion, while Hogwarts suddenly produced three, which was obviously unfair.
"And you! White! You despicable scoundrel! You are blatantly trampling on the rules of the Triwizard Tournament! You can never become a warrior!" Maxim pointed at Bai Lin and cursed. Karkarov, however, did not fire at Bai Lin, and his eyes were full of amusement.
"Um, Ms. Maxim, may I ask which rule I violated? You may disagree with my becoming a warrior of the Wenyuan Pavilion, but you cannot say that I have blatantly trampled on the rules," Bai Lin said calmly.
"Harry didn't lie! He wouldn't lie!" Dumbledore said. "As for White... that's for the Ministry of Magic to decide..."
Maxim was speechless at Bai Lin's question. In the history of the Triwizard Tournament, there was no precedent for teachers to participate. Although it was absurd, the rules did not prohibit teachers from participating.
The three headmasters clearly knew the secret of the Goblet of Fire. It is not a computer that can be programmed arbitrarily. It can only operate according to ancient rules (selecting the strongest in each region). The three magic schools are simply using these rules to create the tournament. In the original story, Barty Jr. probably learned these ancient rules from his father and then used them.
"The Goblet of Fire is bound by ancient magical rules... those chosen must participate..." Barty Crouch, who had been deep in thought with his back to everyone, turned around and said.
Bai Lin had anticipated that he would say that, because only by saying that could he ensure Harry could participate in the competition. If Voldemort went through such a roundabout way to capture Harry, perhaps it was to prove that Harry was indeed very powerful before killing him, thus maximizing his prestige. Although Bai Lin thought this idea was idiotic.
The principals fell silent. Bai Lin clapped his hands and said, "Mr. Crouch is indeed worthy of being the head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. He is fair and wise!" His tone was full of teasing and sarcasm towards Old Barty, but everyone could only hear the smugness in his voice.
"If we absolutely have to have him participate!" Maxim pointed at Bai Lin and said, "I strongly demand that the difficulty be increased for him! Every single level!"
Old Barty declared righteously, "Ms. Maxim, I support you!" The other Ministry of Magic officials who had been silent all along also expressed their support, and Karkaroff shrugged and raised a finger in support.
Dumbledore nodded and said, "That's how it should be, otherwise a large number of teachers will come to hinder the normal conduct of the competition next time!"
Bai Lin shrugged and said, "I accept it. After all, the Wenyuan Pavilion in the East is no pushover. Its teaching quality is in no way inferior to that of Europe!" He had completely immersed himself in a new role. The three-way competition had absurdly become a four-way competition with five participants. This scene would surely be recorded in history.
Bai Lin patted Harry on the shoulder, and Harry winked at him. He seemed to feel Bai Lin's concern for him, and indeed, because of Bai Lin's intrusion, his pressure was reduced a lot.
However, Harry was still not in a good mood when he returned to his dormitory, because Ron was obviously sulking. Ron's feelings were complicated, but in the end, he felt that Harry was hiding something from him, or that Harry had found a loophole in the Goblet of Fire but was unwilling to tell him, which made him feel a mixture of jealousy and resentment.
"Kaelin said he wrote my name in... He wrote not only mine, but also yours, Hermione's, Eddie's, Fred's, and George's," Harry said, repeating what Bai Lin had taught him. He actually thought Bai Lin was behind it all.
"Kaelin said he wrote my name in... He wrote not only mine, but also yours, Hermione's, Eddie's, Fred's, and George's," Harry said, repeating what Bai Lin had taught him. He actually thought Bai Lin was behind it all.
Sure enough, Ron immediately became interested. He sensed a conspiracy in those words and quickly moved closer, his face shifting between anger and uncertainty, saying, "Don't think that just because you said that I'll forgive you..."
"Ron, you're my best brother, we've been inseparable these past few days... and you doubt me!" Harry began his emotional spiel, following Bai Lin's script, his eyes filled with disappointment: "Everyone's been secretly calling me a cheater, I thought at least my best brother would believe me!"
It has to be said, this tactic worked remarkably well. Ron immediately broke down, scrambling out of bed and grabbing Harry's arm, saying, "Of course I believe you... Yes! It must be Professor Kaelin's scheme... Well, it might not be a scheme... but I always felt he was being mysterious..."
"I'm afraid I have no choice but to trust him for now..." Harry looked into Ron's eyes and said, "Mr. Crouch said that the choice of the Goblet of Fire must be obeyed, or disaster will befall us..."
Ron's jealousy immediately turned into concern for Harry. He comforted Harry for a while, but soon asked, "Also, who is Crouch?" (He wasn't listening at all when Dumbledore introduced the Ministry of Magic officials; instead, he was chatting with his two brothers.)
When Bai Lin returned to his dormitory, he was greeted by a big hug from You Qian, which surprised him with its warmth.
"I heard everything from my senior. She must have hurt you, poor captain..." Youxi buried her head in Bai Lin's chest and said.
"Um...it really hurts..." Bai Lin said somewhat awkwardly, after all, it was a little embarrassing to say that he was sad about his ex-girlfriend in front of the girl.
"Captain, let me be your girlfriend!" Yuxi said, mustering her courage. She was initially a little shy, but seeing Catherine and Bai Lin meet, she suddenly felt a strong sense of crisis. "I feel... there's nowhere in the world where I feel safer than by the Captain's side..."
"Well... Yuqian, because of the nightmares caused by the Hastur Church, being around me might have dispelled their influence, which could have given you some misconceptions..." Bai Lin kindly reminded her, "I don't want to take advantage of you..."
"No! Captain... I, I really like you!" Yuxi's tone became resolute, and she suddenly raised her head and kissed Bai Lin. However, her movements were too clumsy, and her nose bumped into Bai Lin's chin, causing her to cry out in surprise.
Seeing that she was about to cry, Bai Lin's heart softened instantly. He gently rubbed her cute nose and kissed her forehead.
In a moment of confusion and passion, Youxi wrapped her arms around Bai Lin's neck, this time aiming precisely at him and sealing his mouth with a kiss.
The two stumbled and staggered to the bed...
The next day, Harry still had the support of most of the Gryffindor students. When he walked into the Great Hall, the Gryffindor tables cheered. Many people regarded Harry as a hero (which made Harry feel a little scared). Although the Hufflepuff students were very disdainful, they did not have the right to laugh at Harry because they thought that their own house teachers were also messing around.
The other houses were noncommittal; after all, their houses hadn't produced a champion, so why not increase Hogwarts' chances of winning the championship?
Hermione was quite nice to Harry. As soon as Harry sat down, Hermione handed him a packet of breakfast, with ham and pickles sandwiched inside the bread.
“I heard everything from Ron,” Hermione said. “Professor Kaelin is really reckless. He doesn’t know how many people have died because of this game throughout history…” Her voice was full of worry.
Harry was taken aback: "What other ways do you and Ron have that I don't know about? I just told him last night, and he told you so quickly?"
Hermione was immediately a little embarrassed. She pulled out a stack of small slips of paper from her pocket and stammered, "Kaelin gave me a stack of slips of paper before, saying that these are called text messages... Ron took some... Do you want some? I'll share some with you too..." Since the summoning encyclopedia had a team channel, Bai Lin no longer needed these outdated communication slips of paper, so he casually gave them to Hermione.
"It's Kaelin again..." Harry didn't take the notes, but instead took a big bite of bread, as if biting into Bai Lin, whom he always felt a mix of "love and hate".
Before breakfast was even finished, a stranger walked into the auditorium. She was a woman who was no longer young, wearing jeweled glasses, with her blonde hair styled in elegant large curls. She showed her teeth and flashed a smile that she clearly thought was very charming. She walked with a cat-like gait, her proud expression seeming to say: "Natural beauty cannot be ignored!"
Her eyes darted around, looking down on everything in the auditorium—the furnishings, the colors, the layout—as if they were completely beneath her notice. She looked at the students with nothing but disdain for the little kids.
"Oh! Hogwarts champions! Come to the preparation room after breakfast. The Ministry of Magic would like to take a group photo of you. Wear your best clothes, if you have any!" The woman ignored Harry's reply and continued to stroll around the Great Hall on her own.
"She's a reporter," Ron said, sitting down next to Harry, his voice low but menacing. "I've never seen a reporter who twists the truth so blatantly. Her articles are all made up. That news story about my dad was written by her..."
With Ron's words still echoing in his ears, Harry returned to his dormitory with some trepidation, put on his jersey, and had to admit that the red and yellow color scheme of the Gryphon jersey was quite stylish, and the material was solid and durable, providing excellent protection for the body on the field.
Upon entering the preparation room, the other warriors were already there.
Krum has a strong, muscular physique that exudes masculinity. He doesn't need much clothing to decorate his body. He wore a tight-fitting tracksuit and had a cool and tough look.
Fleur was wearing Beauxbatons' uniform—which Harry thought was already quite exquisite—and she was beautiful, elegant, and had the air of a well-bred young lady. Among a group of boys, she was definitely a beautiful flower among green leaves.
Cedric and Harry both wore their team uniforms and plaid scarves, but now a female reporter was criticizing him, pulling off his scarf and telling him to take off his coat, put on a white shirt and tie, but Cedric insisted on wearing the black robe with the Hogwarts crest.
However, Bai Lin was nowhere to be seen. The four of them were being pinched and photographed by the female reporter for quite some time before Bai Lin finally arrived. He was dressed in a white shirt, which was quite decent, but it was covered in mud, as if he had just fought with twenty frizzy snails.
Bai Lin nodded apologetically to the four of them and said, "Sorry, I was helping Hagrid with the small animals, that's why I'm late..."
The female reporter pointed at his clothes in a dramatic manner and said, "Are you wearing the Daily Prophet in this?"
Bai Lin rolled his eyes, flicked his finger, and the filth on his body was instantly cleaned away, restoring him to a neat and dashing appearance: "Praise the magic, otherwise I would have been disliked by this... auntie!"
Harry almost burst out laughing. To be honest, he didn't like this female reporter at all, but he had heard that she was quite influential in the Daily Prophet, or rather, many readers enjoyed reading her bizarre, sensational, and conspiracy-themed articles, rather than caring about the truth.
The female reporter was nearly driven mad by Bai Lin's words. She fiercely resolved to write the most vicious words about him in the newspaper, but Bai Lin didn't care at all. He brazenly scanned the female reporter's figure from head to toe, then stared at her waist, shook his head, as if to say: "As you get older, your figure really does go out of shape..."
The female reporter almost exploded on the spot, but the photographer next to her followed Bai Lin's gaze and looked on with a knowing expression.
"Ah! Rita Skeeter! My favorite special correspondent, the star of the Daily Prophet! It's a pleasure to meet you!" Bai Lin pretended to recognize the female reporter and said politely. However, he did not step forward to bow or kiss her hand. Instead, he walked to the four warriors, patted Harry and Cedric on the shoulder, and Cedric nudged him with his elbow, his eyes full of smiles, indicating: You've really stood up for us.
