Revelation of the Way of Heaven

Chapter 23 Conflict in the Tomb

"Have they caught them yet?" someone asked.

"Yes, he can't escape this time," a female voice replied, their voices seemingly coming from the other side of the hallway.

Qin Xiaochuan struggled to move, but the vines bound him tightly, making it impossible for him to move.

"What's going on here? Are there other people here?" he wondered, pondering his predicament.

As if to confirm his idea, just as he thought this, several people walked in from the stairwell. Through the gaps in the vines, he saw two men and a woman, each holding a glow stick, walking towards him together.

Both men were in their early twenties and about 1.75 meters tall. One of them had a tattoo on his right arm, and the other wore glasses. The woman looked to be about seventeen or eighteen years old and about 1.65 meters tall. She looked like a cute young girl, and it was unclear why she was there.

"Huh?" The tattooed man couldn't help but exclaim in surprise as he approached Qin Xiaochuan and saw his appearance.

"What's wrong?" the bespectacled man asked hurriedly, moving closer to Qin Xiaochuan as he spoke.

"It's not him," the tattooed man said in surprise. At this moment, the other two also saw Qin Xiaochuan's appearance clearly, and they, like the tattooed man, showed surprised expressions.

"Who are you? Why are you here?" the bespectacled man asked, then frowned and looked him up and down.

"I should be asking you, who are you? Why are you arresting me?" Qin Xiaochuan decisively chose not to answer but to ask a question in return.

Before he understood the situation, how could he casually reveal his identity? Judging from what the other party said just now, it seemed that they had arrested the wrong person. If they were not here to arrest him, then they were here to... arrest Han Kexin?

No, he couldn't be foolish enough to reveal his identity before he understood the situation.

"Hey kid!" Hearing this, the tattooed man punched a vine before continuing, "Are you kidding me? You're under our control now. Do you think you have the right to question us?"

Normally, Qin Xiaochuan would never continue to act so defiantly, but things are different now. They need to capture Han Kexin. Even if they can't stop her, they should at least try to delay her for a while so that Han Kexin can realize her danger as soon as possible.

Seeing that the woman was the youngest and a girl, Qin Xiaochuan said to her, "What do you want to do? Are you trying to kill me to cover your tracks? That pretty girl doesn't seem like a bad person. She shouldn't be capable of such a cruel thing."

"Hey kid, you really won't admit it until you're faced with a real problem. Even now, you're still not being honest. Well, I'll teach you a lesson first and see if you'll confess." The tattooed man seemed very angry as he reached through the vines to grab the tattooed man's neck.

"Alright, Su Lie, stop fooling around." Just as the tattooed man's hand was about to grab Qin Xiaochuan, the woman suddenly called out to him, and Su Lie obediently withdrew his hand.

"You're right, we're not bad people. If you're not a bad person, we definitely won't hurt you." The girl's tone was calm and composed, giving off a mature and experienced feeling that seemed out of place for her age. Before Qin Xiaochuan could figure out how to answer her, she continued, "Of course, I'm talking about the premise that you can prove you're not a bad person, so now you can reveal your identity."

For some reason, although there was no coercion or threat, after hearing her words, Qin Xiaochuan felt as if he had to tell her everything. However, thinking of Han Kexin's safety, he could not give in so easily. At that moment, he could only try to stall for time, so he said, "Okay, I'll talk. I'm just a student, not a bad person. Now you can let me go."

"Why are you here?" The girl ignored his nonsense and only asked the question she cared about.

"I've already said I'm not a bad person, why won't you let me go? This is an illegal restriction on my personal freedom, do you know that's illegal? Let me go right now."

He tried to stall for time, wondering if Han Kexin had noticed the danger. With her quick wit, she must have sensed something after all this time. If she had, what would she do? Would she come to rescue him, or abandon him here and run away on her own?

"Shiyi, I think this kid is a scoundrel. He's definitely stalling for time. Reasoning with him won't work; we have to teach him a lesson first." Su Lie seemed to have a very impatient personality. Seeing Qin Xiaochuan stalling for time, he became furious and only wanted to solve the problem quickly with his fists.

"Is he stalling for time to give someone else a chance to escape? I think he's hiding nearby. Let me find him," the girl said calmly, quickly forming several hand seals as she spoke.

"Touch of Spiritual Power." The girl coldly shouted. As her words fell, two white, transparent tentacles grew out of her head, exploring her head incessantly, as if searching for something.

"Oh no!" Qin Xiaochuan thought to himself, wondering if Han Kexin had noticed the situation yet. If she didn't, things would get really bad.

"Found it." A moment later, the girl showed a look of joy. When she pointed to a coffin, suddenly there was a loud "thud," and the lid of the coffin flew towards the three of them.

Seeing the coffin lid flying towards him, Su Lie immediately stepped forward to block the other two, then shouted, "Boundless Fist!" and punched the coffin lid.

"Bang!" Another loud explosion rang out, and the coffin lid shattered into pieces, scattering to one side. Fortunately, Qin Xiaochuan was trapped in the vines, otherwise he would definitely have been hit.

As Su Lie smashed the coffin lid, a figure darted out of the coffin and quickly ran deep into the tomb, distancing himself from the three.

Qin Xiaochuan stared blankly at everything happening before his eyes. What was going on? There was actually another person here (or was it a zombie?). Could it be that they weren't looking for Han Kexin?

"Senior Mo, you were indeed hiding here. You really put us through a lot of trouble."

The bespectacled man watched quietly as the person suddenly darted out (judging from his tone, it should be a person), but the person was in the darkness deep inside the tomb, and Qin Xiaochuan could only see a blurry figure.

"You guys are really like leeches, I can't shake you off. Do you enjoy following me around like this?" A cold male voice came from the darkness.

"You're wrong, Senior Mo. We're not here to follow you, but to capture you," the girl said calmly.

Although her tone was arrogant, she did not show any carelessness. On the contrary, she maintained a state of high alert from beginning to end, as did the other two. It seemed that the person in the dark was very powerful, and they had to deal with him with caution.

"Hmph." A cold laugh came from the darkness. "Fine, let's see if you have the ability."

"Don't waste words with him, just grab him." Su Lie, ever the impatient one, had barely finished speaking when he charged forward, shouting, "Jiang Han!"

"Understood!" the bespectacled man, Jiang Han, replied. Just as Su Lie darted out, he had already thrown something into the darkness.

"Flare!" Jiang Han shouted, and then with a "bang," the tomb chamber was instantly illuminated as if it were daytime.

The sudden burst of bright light made Qin Xiaochuan almost unable to open his eyes. In his daze, he only heard the girl shout "Watch out!"

When he finally adjusted, he saw this scene: in a blinding light, a melancholy man stood in a corner, and Su Lie was charging toward the melancholy man with unstoppable momentum, but in front of Su Lie were three icicles as thick as an arm, piercing toward him.
