Revelation of the Way of Heaven

Chapter 22 Six-pointed Star

When the eternal beam of light passes through the stillness of time and space, the six-pointed star will shine again, and the gate to the night will open.

Qin Xiaochuan frowned and read the sentence over and over again, but he still didn't understand what it meant.

This phrase appeared twice in this room, and Mo Qi even wrote it down. So it must have a special meaning. Could it be related to the treasures collected in the church? Could it be an indication of where the treasures are hidden, or is it simply a proverb with a different meaning within Christianity?

He closed his eyes and imagined the scene when Mo Qi wrote those words.

He thought that Mo Qi should have written this sentence on a piece of paper, then sat down and studied it carefully. But after studying it for a long time, he didn't get anything out of it. Disheartened, he crumpled the paper into a ball and threw it into the trash can.

If it's a proverb from within Christianity, there's no need for Mo Qi to specifically study it, because those proverbs in religion are understood through sudden enlightenment, and there's no point in studying them so diligently.

There's only one explanation: this statement must be hinting at something. Could it be related to the location where the treasure is hidden?

He put the paper in his pocket and continued searching the room, but after searching for a long time, he found nothing more.

Finally, he walked to the window. The study window was made of stained glass inlaid on the wall, shaped like an eight-petaled lotus flower, with stories from the Bible painted on it. In the center of the lotus was a circular openwork glass, and the shape of that glass was exactly the shape of a six-pointed star.

Huh? Qin Xiaochuan's eyes lit up when he saw the glass. Could the six-pointed star mentioned in his previous sentence be related to this window?

He opened the paper again, and the six-pointed star would shine again. Could it be related to light? But when he shone his headlamp on the six-pointed star, there was nothing special about it.

Although there were no further discoveries yet, his intuition told him that this strange statement must be related to the window. He seemed to have finally found some clues, but these clues were so vague that he felt both excited and anxious.

How could he possibly solve this mystery? He paced back and forth in the room several times, but couldn't come up with a single effective solution.

"Forget it, there's no point in thinking about it now. I'll just tell Han Kexin about this discovery later, and we can study it together. Maybe we can solve the mystery." He thought to himself.

He excitedly searched the other rooms again, but found no useful clues. After his discovery, his tension and fear had completely disappeared. It was just an abandoned church, and someone had lived there ten years ago. What was there to be afraid of?

But the thought didn't linger in his mind for long. When he walked down the stairs and reached the entrance to the basement, he couldn't help but feel nervous again.

He took a deep breath and steeled himself as he walked into the basement. The darkness was dispelled by his miner's lamp, and in the light, he saw a wooden door blocking the entrance to the basement.

Upon seeing the wooden door, an image immediately flashed in his mind: a dark, damp, and eerie place behind it, where monsters might lurk, silently waiting for his arrival.

He took another deep breath, and then mustered up the courage to push open the door. As soon as the door opened, before the light shone inside, he heard a series of strange flapping sounds coming from inside. In these sounds, it seemed as if a group of things were flying towards him.

"Holy crap, there really is a monster." Qin Xiaochuan turned and ran without even thinking.

But the monsters were too fast. Before long, he heard strange noises behind him. He was so frightened that he quickly covered his head with his hands. But to his surprise, the monsters did not attack him. Instead, they flew over his head.

He looked up in surprise and saw that it was just a group of bats. Qin Xiaochuan breathed a sigh of relief.

"Damn it, I'm such a coward." Qin Xiaochuan cursed himself inwardly and prepared to turn back and continue walking towards the basement, but just as he turned around, a dark shadow suddenly shot straight at his face.

The dark figure was so fast and attacked suddenly that he didn't even see what it was, let alone dodge it. He could only instinctively shrink his body downwards.

With a "smack," he felt a sharp pain on his head as his headlamp was knocked to the ground. The lamp was still lit, but it was shining directly at him, the blinding light making it impossible for him to open his eyes. Just then, a pair of feet swept through the light and kicked him in the thigh.

He felt a sharp pain in his thigh, but he couldn't care less. He quickly used both hands to climb two steps up the stairs, and then he heard the sound of wind behind him again. The monster had quickly caught up.

After being startled several times, Qin Xiaochuan suddenly became much calmer. Hearing the sound approaching from behind, he immediately turned around. At the same time, a red fireball formed in front of him. In the light of the fireball, he finally saw the monster's appearance.

Zombies!

He muttered in horror, "Damn, there really is a zombie." Not only that, but it was exactly like the one in the movie, with its arms outstretched, hopping up the steps. Its face was pale and emaciated, its eyes were lifeless, and two long fangs gleamed in the firelight from its open mouth. The only difference from the one in the movie was that this zombie was wearing modern clothes.

The zombie quickly jumped in front of him, then leaned back slightly, aimed its two hands at him, and swiftly stabbed at him.

"Die!" Without a moment's hesitation, Qin Xiaochuan controlled the fireball, which slammed into the zombie with a "whoosh".

With a loud "bang!", the fireball slammed into the zombie. Affected by the force of the fireball, the zombie staggered back several steps before collapsing to the ground with a "thud." The fireball left a black dent on its chest, and flames engulfed its body.

The zombie lying on the ground kept twitching, as if it wanted to stand up again.

It was still alive! Qin Xiaochuan had an idea and slammed another fireball into its head, instantly smashing it to pieces. The zombie could no longer move, and at the same time, the corridor was filled with a foul stench.

Only then did he take a deep breath, pick up his miner's lamp from the ground, shine it into the basement, and after confirming that there were no other zombies, he slowly walked in.

The basement was full of coffins. There were about eight or nine, lined up on both sides of the basement. Each coffin had a cross carved or inlaid on it. It looked like a burial chamber in a church. The zombie from earlier probably crawled out of one of these coffins. As if to confirm his idea, he soon saw an open coffin.

Looking at those coffins, Qin Xiaochuan felt a bit uneasy. In fact, he hated things related to death, and there was a possibility that there were zombies inside these coffins, which gave him a headache.

But at this moment, in order to find clues, he had no choice but to bite the bullet and search around inside.

After searching around, he found nothing in the tomb except for the coffin. Come to think of it, how could there be any clues in a place like this? If Han Kexin hadn't told him to check every room, he would never have come here.

Now that he had checked, he wanted to leave immediately, but he had only walked halfway back when he suddenly noticed something like vines sprouting from the walls and the ground ahead.

Not only in front, but he soon discovered that it was the same in front, behind, to the left, right, above, and below him.

"Snap!" A vine suddenly sprouted from the coffin lid, followed by a large clump of vines growing from the coffin and wrapping around him like tentacles.

He had nowhere to escape and could only watch helplessly as more and more vines climbed up his body, then his head, engulfing him like a flood.
