Infinite Terror: I Have a Chat Group

Chapter 3 Entering the Hive!

Lin Yu pretended to have just woken up, got up from the ground, and carefully looked around. There were two men and two women next to him, but the chubby little boy who made Zhang Jie lose his temper in the original story was not there. He was probably replaced by Lin Yu, which made Lin Yu even more certain that there was something wrong with his time travel.

"This time the horror movie is the first Resident Evil. Newbies, you're really lucky. You've come across such an easy horror movie on your first visit. Even if you die, you'll die very easily."

Seeing that everyone was awake, Zhang Jie took a drag of his cigarette, seemingly sighing, yet also appearing to be threatening.

"Can we go back?"

A girl wearing glasses asked Zhang Jie a question, her expression calm, clearly not intimidated by him.

"Go back? Of course, as long as you save up 50,000 reward points."

Zhang Jie stubbed out his cigarette, chuckled, and then answered.

"Reward points?"

"For each mission you complete, which is equivalent to surviving a horror movie, you will receive 1,000 reward points. Reward points have many uses. They can be exchanged for many things, such as this Desert Eagle with unlimited ammo in my hand, or for more days to survive a horror movie, or to improve your physical fitness."

The others fell silent upon hearing this. According to this veteran, even without using any reward points, one would still need to survive fifty horror movies to fully return to the real world!

Survived fifty horror movies?

Even the most optimistic person understands that this is by no means an easy task, and the chances are extremely slim.

"There must be other ways to earn reward points besides surviving a horror movie, right?"

Lin Yu asked Zhang Jie.

"That's right, there's more than one. Look at the watches on your left wrists."

Zhang Jie gave Lin Yu a meaningful look before speaking.

Only then did everyone realize that a strange watch had appeared on their left wrist.

The watch displayed several data points: first, a countdown of three hours and seven minutes; second, a summary of data names, such as the number of zombies, the number of crawlers, and the number of newcomers...

"One reward point for every ten zombies killed, one hundred reward points for every crawler killed, and one thousand reward points for every newbie killed..."

Zhang Jie looked at everyone with ill intent, but neither Lin Yu, Zheng Zha, nor Zhan Lan reacted much, because anyone with a modicum of intelligence would understand that there was no way killing newbies would earn reward points.

"Of course, it's a negative reward point..."

"Alright, the horror movie is about to start, so ask me anything you need to know."

Seeing the unexpected reaction from the crowd, Zhang Jie felt somewhat bored.

"I have a couple more questions. I've seen the first Resident Evil movie, and the ending is that the T-virus from the lab invades Raccoon City. So, if we escaped the lab in this train car before that, wouldn't we have survived easily?"

Zhan Lan glanced at Lin Yu and Zheng Zha, who were more proactive, and seeing them nod, she continued to ask.

Zhang Jie nodded and said, "Look at the watch. Is there a name in the upper left corner? Say it aloud."

"Matthew Addison!"

Several people read it aloud at the same time, and then they were surprised to see that one of the black people among the foreigners was emitting a faint light. This light only lasted for a moment, and then the black person returned to normal. None of the foreigners, including the black person himself, had noticed this.

"This is the mercenary captain in the movie. This movie is a regional horror film, and the plot only takes place in this laboratory. In order to limit the difficulty, 'The Main God' cannot escape the plot area too far in such a horror movie. If we leave this Matthew Addison's location by a hundred meters, we will... be gone with a bang," Zhang Jie explained.

"What if he dies? Then we won't be able to follow him... or will we be free?" Zhan Lan asked, touching her forehead.

"Even if he dies, this restriction will continue to be applied to the other characters in the story. The main god will not give such loopholes. We can only desperately try to survive in this horror movie." Zhang Jie shook his head.

Zheng Zha suddenly asked, "What is that 'main god'? You've been talking about that name."

"The 'Main God' is what manages our entry into this horror movie loop. It gives us reward points, and the redemption is also done through it. The 'Main God' is a ball of light, and in fact, I have no idea what it is," Zhang Jie said, waving his hand.

Janlan nodded and said, "One last question... what does this number represent?" She pointed to the countdown on her watch.

"You have to stay in this horror movie for a certain amount of time. Once the time is up, you can return alive to the 'God' to receive your reward and then face the next horror movie." Zhang Jie took out another cigarette and lit it.

Just then, the carriage began to slowly slow down. Zhang Jie finished his cigarette in a few puffs, took out his Desert Eagle, and said, "Alright, the plot begins now. They can hear our conversation from now on. Remember, if they hear our conversation, you'll lose ten points. Ten points for each sentence. The negative points will be deducted from your next reward. Rookies... try to survive!"

Lin Yu took a deep breath and silently walked to Zhang Jie's side.

From now on, I need to keep a low profile and avoid attracting the attention of the mercenaries, lest I end up like that middle-aged man and be asked to enter the laser tunnel. Oh, and I also need to stay away from Zheng Zha.

As long as you avoid the laser tunnel, there's not much danger in this horror movie.

The Biohazard game is already at the lowest difficulty level of seven players. Even though the difficulty has increased a bit because of Zhang Jie, it is still not considered very difficult. As long as you don't enter the laser tunnel and don't do anything reckless, your chances of survival are very high.

In the Resident Evil 1 storyline, there are three places where the possibility of dying is relatively high.

First, the next deadly staircase.

Second, the deadly laser channel.

Third, finally shut down the creepers that appear when the Flame Queen appears.

As long as one's physical condition is normal, crossing the Death Staircase shouldn't be too difficult. Lin Yu is in relatively good health, so he's not too worried.

The laser tunnel is particularly dangerous, so Lin Yu decided to keep a low profile and stay away from Zheng Zha so he wouldn't be singled out to join.

As for the third one, it's not too dangerous. After all, no one died in the original story, so if you're careful, it shouldn't be too difficult to get through it safely.

......

The train slowed down and then came to a stop. The mercenaries led the way out, while Lin Yu continued to follow behind Zhang Jie.

As a time traveler, Lin Yu knew that the most dangerous thing in this horror movie was not the various zombies and monsters, but the mercenaries in front of him.

The main god placed himself and others into this horror movie and assigned them identities, but whether intentionally or unintentionally, the identity assignments are quite unreasonable.

Security guards? Among our group, besides Zhang Jie, who looks like a security guard? Especially not a security guard at a secret research base like the Hive! No wonder the mercenaries were suspicious.

The second danger point is essentially the mercenaries' distrust. Therefore, even if the carriage might contain the T-virus and the antidote from a side quest, Lin Yu had no intention of searching for it.

Because if someone makes any unusual moves, even if they aren't riddled with bullets by the mercenaries, they will definitely be called out in the laser tunnel.

As for side quests, they won't be available through later events.

In some fan fiction, the protagonist openly wanders around looking for boxes, and even holds them in his hands after finding them, and the mercenaries don't suspect anything. This can only be attributed to the author's protection. Lin Yu doesn't want to risk seeing if he has the author's protection.

Led by the mercenaries, the group walked around in a winding path for a while before finally arriving at the entrance to the Hive Base.

Several mercenaries took out tools from their backpacks and began to break into the gate.

"I want to know who you are? And what exactly happened here?"

At this moment, a woman wearing a fiery red dress, who is the protagonist Alice, asked a question.
