Thrown into a post-apocalyptic world in his sleep, Lu Mingfei wakes up to find himself in an unknown realm. Here, the land has been devoured by an ecosystem called "Mana," and the steel jungle has become a lair for Devouring Beasts. Survivors struggle on the edge of a shattered civilization, clinging to life with their awakened "potential" and unwavering will. He, Lu Mingfei, in a chase with the Devouring Beasts, his blood-stained silver blade cleaves through the horde, and short white hair brings him home to a village called Dragon Bone Village. The villagers are a bit strange: an uncle with an appendix who can concoct antidotes, a blonde woman who can conjure people up, and an energetic girl with an even deeper internet addiction than him. They say he might have "potential." Lu Mingfei thinks, "My potential is probably just bad luck, right? Otherwise, I wouldn't have transmigrated here." However, as deadly crimson spreads and his companions' lives slip away before his eyes, a blinding crimson-gold light appears as promised in the depths of those always droopy eyes. "Don't die." The ancient incantation knocked on the forbidden door, and the power to reverse life and death blossomed in the apocalypse. Broken limbs were reassembled, and dissipated life flowed back, causing the colossal creature lurking in the shadows to turn its gaze upon this "outsider" who should not exist.
