Chapter 89 The Battle of New York (Part 1)

With a "whoosh," Link used the scepter in his hand as a weapon, smashing it directly at the Chitauri aircraft as it passed by, knocking the Chitauri soldier in the pilot's seat off the plane.

Behind him stood two soldiers who were also taken down, but they were connected to the aircraft by chains, and were pulled back by the chains as they flew out.

After a round of firefights, most of the stealth fighters were shot down, and Stark and Thor arrived and intercepted the remaining Chitauri.

There weren't many, only a little over a hundred. Link initially held back, shooting down only a few aircraft before the two sides clashed in a direct confrontation of air power.

Stealth fighters are too big, so they are at a disadvantage in this kind of confrontation, and most of them were shot down. The remaining ones were all damaged, but they still managed to shoot down dozens of aircraft.

Link lured away more than a dozen units, but Coulson caught him off guard from the side and wiped them out.

Hawkeye did know the weakness of the space carrier. He planned to land directly from above, pointing out the location of the Chitauri space carrier, and then have these aliens attack from below.

"Agent Romanoff, how's Patton?" Nick Fury asked.

Hawkeye's real name is Clint Barton, but he is generally known as Barton.

"After being hit by the captain, it seems like my brain has been rebooted," Natasha Romanov said humorously.

"That's good. Ask him about Loki's plans." Nick Fury turned around. "Agent Hill, immediately send Quinjet fighters down to the sea and bring our brave pilots back."

"Also, see what's floating on the sea, and bring some back to study."

"Yes, sir!" Hill immediately began to carry out the order.

Nick Fury looked at Link and the others and said, "Thanks everyone, Link~ We would have been in big trouble if it weren't for you."

"He used the Tesseract, so why didn't Dr. Banner detect it?"

"Even without Loki, they would still attack. Once the passage is opened, it will be war."

Link then looked at Banner and said, "Right now, we can only fight back. The key question is where they will open the portal, and what conditions are required to open it?"

Banner said, "A stable energy source, heated to a temperature of 100 million degrees Celsius, is needed for any nuclear power plant..."

"No!" Link interrupted Banner. "We don't need a nuclear power plant. Stark Tower and Osborn Tower will do. Loki's personality is similar to Stark's; he wants to stand in a more prominent place."

"Just like he wants the approval of the God-King!"
