Chapter 67 Target: Osborn Group
"Hey, Tony, Pepper!" When Link arrived in the basement, he saw the two of them kissing each other and had to speak up to them.
"Hey, Lin!" Pepper said shyly, but Stark showed no embarrassment whatsoever.
"Lin, have you brought the things?" Stark asked.
Link nodded and said, "The things are in the living room upstairs. I won't bother you any longer. I believe you can solve the problem."
"I'm going back now!"
Pepper replied, "Perfect timing, I'm also going to New York; I still need to take care of some things at the expo."
Link replied, "Then I'll enjoy Stark Industries' aircraft."
"Welcome!" Pepper turned and gave Stark a kiss, then whispered, "You promised me you'd solve the problem, otherwise you'd have to have surgery."
"Don't worry, I've already found a way," Stark said confidently.
Link returned to New York on a Stark Industries plane, retrieved his car from the military base, and then went home.
He would see what happened next on television, but he had no intention of intervening. Coulson was probably in New Mexico at the moment, dealing with a hammer problem.
Link acted completely indifferent, and of course, S.H.I.E.L.D. hadn't given him any missions. Link knew very well that he wasn't on Nick Fury's trust list.
Therefore, Nick Fury won't put him in charge of many things, and Link is willing to do so, since he doesn't really want to work for S.H.I.E.L.D.
……
As expected, what was bound to happen still happened. Ivan Vanko's vengeful spirit remained, and Stark arrived just in time to resolve the issue smoothly.
As for the situation in New Mexico, Link had not received any information, only videos previously released by some people, about a hammer that no one could lift.
The news was likely suppressed afterward, since it involved aliens, and S.H.I.E.L.D. wouldn't allow the information to spread.
These were two major events, but Link didn't get involved at all. Instead, he shorted Hammer Industries ahead of time, making a fortune once again.
The amount of funds used this time was not large; most of the funds previously deposited into the charitable foundation were invested in United Construction Company.
With the remaining billion-plus funds, Link still used financial leverage to short Hammer Industries, and the charitable foundation once again had billions of dollars. The key point is that Hammer Industries itself was not very valuable.
This time he made a huge profit. Many people had previously heard that Justin Hammer had basically reached a cooperation agreement with the military, and they had all made advance preparations.
This is what made Link billions of dollars, but Link had little interest in Hammer Industries. He made his money and ran, preparing for the next investment. After all, he was the investment director of a charitable foundation.
Link decided to look at other stocks, since Stark Industries stock was currently unavailable for purchase and everyone was holding onto it because it still had upward potential; Stark itself was a living advertisement.
There are many large companies on the market. Link had heard of some in his previous life, but not others. Of course, there are also some companies from the Marvel Universe that exist here.
Companies like Pim and Osborn exist, and Link mainly keeps an eye on these because he's familiar with them!
Link wasn't sure which universe this was, and he couldn't tell, but some things wouldn't change.
He is now studying while keeping an eye on these familiar groups and companies, preparing to buy another batch of stocks.
Norman Osborn is still the chairman and CEO of the Osborn Group. Link checked the information and found that the company's biotechnology division has a large investment, but there is no name of the person in charge.
Link logged into S.H.I.E.L.D.'s database and found Richard Parker's name. However, this man had stolen technical data from the Osborn Corporation and was preparing to flee the country with his wife.
As a result, the plane they were on crashed, and both husband and wife perished. Of course, the technical data they were carrying was also lost.
They have a son, Peter Parker, who was adopted by his uncle, Ben Parker.
Link's focus isn't on Spider-Man, but on the Osborn Corporation. Their investments in the biotechnology sector reveal that the Osborn family still suffers from hereditary genetic diseases.
They've invested heavily in this, and Link estimates that the Osborne Group still has partnerships with the military regarding the Super Soldier Serum.
However, it was unsuccessful. If Norman Osborn were to inject this serum again, he would probably still turn into the Green Goblin. The Osborn Corporation could try to manipulate this.
The Osborne Group has diversified its business in many areas, including pharmaceuticals, power, and military industries.
However, Link was not very willing to manage such a large corporation. He would rather be a researcher, which would require him to use his super brain.
He searched online for books on biology, medicine, and chemistry, sorted them from basic to advanced, and then made a purchase list.
He was prepared to learn more and see how much potential his super brain had. The only pity was that he didn't have a Kryptonian spaceship.
Link bought a large number of books and then finished reading and memorizing them in an hour and a half, which was incredibly fast.
With super speed and a super brain perfectly combined, he glanced at the books on the bookshelf and could loudly proclaim to everyone that he had actually read them all.
However, that's not enough; more knowledge is needed, and the best would be academic papers. But these papers are all online, so Link can only read them slowly. If he reads too fast, his laptop will freeze.
If only I had Jarvis, I could use a holographic projection as a screen and read quickly without any problem.
Unfortunately, he can't handle this yet. It's not a software problem; he feels he can write an intelligent program, which may not be as good as Jarvis, but it's perfectly capable of handling daily tasks.
What it lacks is the hardware; a powerful artificial intelligence requires an equally powerful supercomputer as its core.
Link doesn't have a place to build a supercomputer right now. Everything else is fine, but cooling is the biggest problem. He needs to accumulate more knowledge, so he's not in a hurry.
Just learn it slowly!
The next day, Phil Coulson sent Link a video and then called him.
It turned out that Coulson had introduced him to Asgard!
