Hogwarts: The Witch Education Handbook
Chapter 8 The Charm of Language
A major battle escalated rapidly and ended abruptly.
After several days of continuous fighting, Sean was feeling somewhat exhausted.
It is said that women are like tigers at thirty and wolves at forty, and the ancients were right.
Only after using various tools could he barely manage a draw with the enemy general.
Exhausted, the two lay panting on the cold basement floor.
"Tell me, what do you want from me?" Bella's voice was slightly languid.
At this moment, her body was slightly turned to the side, her head resting on the armrest of the sofa, displaying her voluptuous figure to the fullest. Days of watering had made this thorny red rose bloom with a different color once again.
In reality, she wasn't as relaxed as she appeared.
For her, the battle just now was more like a show of weakness.
As Death Eaters, dignity and flesh are merely means to advance their master's interests... and she wanted to use this method to probe Sean's intentions.
"If I said I wanted to rescue Voldemort, would you believe me?" Sean said, as he gently reached into his inner pocket and carefully groped around until he finally grasped a thick cigar. After cutting off the head with a cigar cutter from the table, he elegantly put the cigar in his mouth, lit it, and took a deep drag.
Bella's first reaction was disbelief, followed by anger. She felt she had done all she could, yet the other person was still humiliating her with nonsensical language.
But as the smoke slowly rose in front of her, she stared into Sean's eyes, which were faintly visible through the smoke. Those eyes gleamed with a sharp light, as if they could see into people's hearts.
Bella's heart skipped a beat.
Could he be telling the truth?
But she quickly dismissed the idea.
She felt that Sean was deliberately trying to get her into this mess of thoughts; he was such a despicable person, taking pleasure in toying with other people's feelings...
Bella suppressed her anger and stared coldly at Sean, trying to read something from his expression.
Sean seemed to sense Bella's thoughts. In the ensuing atmosphere, he stood up and sat next to her, toying with her breasts in his left hand, and said with a hint of mockery, "What, you don't believe me?"
Bella took a deep breath, swatting away Sean's mischievous hands, trying to make her voice sound as calm as possible: "Sean, I'm willing to give everything for my master, but that doesn't mean I'll listen to your ridiculous talk to deceive and humiliate me. Although I've been in Azkaban for a long time, my mind hasn't been corrupted by those Dementors who only know how to eat..."
"Otherwise, why would I rescue you?"
Faced with this question, Bella was speechless for a moment.
Sean smiled slightly, slowly exhaling a breath of saliva, a sly and profound glint in his eyes: "Bella, you've misunderstood me. I'm not trying to humiliate you, but to tell you a fact... You think you've done everything you could, but in reality, it's just the tip of the iceberg..."
Sean didn't continue. Often, leaving things unsaid makes the underlying reasons more intriguing and leaves room for the other person to imagine. The other person will naturally fill in the logical gaps that exist.
"Then why...?"
Sean placed the cigar he was holding on the ashtray on the desk, his face expressionless. He stared at Bella with eyes that seemed to see right through her, and asked in a deep, steady tone, "No, you started it?"
Bella was taken aback, clearly not expecting Sean's response.
But then again.
Yeah...didn't she strike first?
After Sean rescued her, aside from restricting her freedom, he didn't seem to intend to harm her in any other way. So why did she...?
No, she almost got caught up in Sean's scheme.
Why do Death Eaters do things? A wise man doesn't stay under a crumbling wall; it's always better to strike first.
It's just a matter of the victor taking all; she underestimated Sean's cunning and failed.
Otherwise, the person currently in a high position would be her, Bellatrix Lestrange.
Sean noticed Bella's hesitation and pressed his advantage, adding, "Otherwise, tell me, why should I rescue you?"
Bella reflected on herself, and it seemed her role was indeed as Sean had described...
The glory of the Black family has long since faded.
The only thing he still had that was still somewhat valuable was his identity as a Death Eater.
After a moment's thought, Bella bit her lower lip, her gaze sweeping over Sean's face as if searching for confirmation or denial. Finally, she took a deep breath and spoke with some difficulty, "So, what do you think I should do?"
Sean glanced at her and said calmly, "Bella, you're only seeing the surface of the problem; you haven't grasped its core. You've solved the current predicament, but you haven't prevented potential future problems. You need a more comprehensive perspective and a deeper understanding to truly achieve a permanent solution."
This was Sean's delaying tactic; these words came out of his mouth as if from muscle memory, and he didn't even know what he had said after he finished speaking.
This special skill stemmed from his years of diligent study in the office with a black leather notebook in his previous life. He seemed to have said a lot, but in fact, he hadn't said a single word.
Bella was even more bewildered by the power of this mysterious language from the East.
Could it be that her mind was actually assimilated by those Dementors while she was imprisoned in Azkaban?
Otherwise, why wouldn't she understand a single word?
Or perhaps Sean's words were too profound, to the point that...
In that brief moment, Bella thought of so many things: from her master leading the Death Eaters to sweep across Britain, to being tragically struck by that boy and disappearing without a trace, to her own trial and imprisonment in Azkaban—everything played out in her mind like a slideshow. Finally, it all culminated in one sentence: "I understand..."
No, what do you understand?
Sean looked at Bella, whose eyes had been rekindled with hope, with considerable puzzlement.
Could it be that Bella has already seen through his act of perfunctory behavior and is now turning the tables on him?
If that's the case, he'll have to unleash a big move beforehand to let Bella taste the sweetness of victory.
After all, milk is for growing teenage girls, and it doesn't have any extra benefits for Bella, a mature woman in her thirties.
"If...you follow my instructions, I guarantee you will see your respected master, Mr. Voldemort, again within a year..."
