Hogwarts: The Witch Education Handbook

Chapter 38, 5 words of self-criticism

Sean swears to God that he absolutely did not mean to frighten the little witch.

Using powerful explosive spells only to deal with this kind of monster had become an unconscious reflex for him.

He realized his oversight when he saw the pitiful little witch, so he quickly switched the spell to a fixed spell.

About half a minute later, Professor McGonagall rushed into the bathroom, followed closely by Snape, with Quirrell bringing up the rear.

She stared intently at Sean, her voice laced with cold anger: "What's going on?"

In the fourteen years he had known Professor McGonagall, Sean had never seen her so angry, though he was now behaving even more furiously than McGonagall.

"Fine, fine, you're asking me what happened?" Sean laughed angrily. "I'd like to ask you what happened too."

"I had diarrhea and was using the toilet in the next stall when I heard heavy footsteps outside, and then I heard a girl scream coming from the women's restroom next door."

"I ran out before I even finished using the toilet."

"Guess what I saw?"

Following Sean's gaze, the six people present, including Hermione, turned their attention to the giant who was standing alone and motionless.

"I saw a giant that shouldn't be at Hogwarts."

"It was waving its club, ready to kill a little witch."

"This is absolutely horrifying!"

"Regardless of whether the little witch was harmed or not." Sean paused, his eyes flashing with anger enough to burn everything, and pointed at each of the adult wizards present, finally pointing at himself, "You, you, you, and even me."

"They should all be ashamed of this!"

"Hogwarts is a school, and we, as teachers, failed to detect the danger and allowed a terrifying giant to sneak in. It's utterly ridiculous, a disgrace to Hogwarts, to England, and to the four founders of our school!"

"You should all put a 5,000-word self-criticism on Dumbledore's desk tomorrow!"

Sean grew angrier as he spoke, and some of his spittle landed on Snape's new wizard robes.

"I...we...didn't...intentionally..." Professor Quirrell was terrified by the situation. He stammered, trying to defend everyone present, but before he could finish speaking, Sean's roar rang in his ears again.

"Shut up!"

"It's not your turn to speak yet," Sean said, tapping his wand against the wall twice. "If something were to happen to Miss Granger today, how would you explain it to her parents, the Grangers?"

"Can your consciences stand it?"

"Every night, you toss and turn, unable to sleep, because of your negligence that caused a young wizard to die at the prime of his life."

"Or perhaps..." Sean's gaze suddenly shifted to Snape, and he said in a sinister tone, "Or perhaps Miss Granger, like me, came from a Muggle family, both of us dirty Mudbloods, and the wizarding world doesn't care about the lives of people like us, nor whether it needs to give an explanation to the Grangers..."

After saying that, Sean didn't even look at the reactions of the others, and carried Hermione straight toward the infirmary.

Halfway there, he suddenly seemed to remember something and turned back to the two young wizards, saying, "Mr. Potter and Mr. Weasley, you bravely rescued your classmate at a critical moment. Each of you deserves five points for Gryffindor. I am proud of your courage."

Sean's words were earth-shattering. He first characterized the incident as teacher negligence, then elevated it to a matter of Hogwarts' honor and the reputation of the British wizarding world, and finally even accused it of blood discrimination. Keep in mind that Voldemort had only been gone for 11 years, and the idea that blood is a sin had become taboo.

This combination of attacks is so powerful that even the Minister of Magic, Fudge, might not be able to withstand it.

Even Quirrell, the one who started all of this, was supposed to be saddened by the troll's death in the original story, sitting on the toilet and sobbing helplessly.

Now, he, McGonagall, and Snape were staring at each other, no one knowing what they were thinking.

It took Professor McGonagall quite a while to recover from what Sean had just said.

She glanced at Snape and Quirrell with a rather complicated look, then slowly said, "Let's go."

After saying that, he was the first to leave the women's restroom.

Quirrell followed in Professor McGonagall's footsteps.

It wasn't until the two of them left that Snape came to his senses. To be honest, he was the most shocked of the three, as the words "Mudblood" easily triggered some unpleasant memories for him.

Before Harry and Ron left, he specifically instructed them to keep their conversation a secret, and then he went to the bathroom alone to deal with the troll's body.

...

When Sean carried Hermione to the school hospital, Head Nurse Mrs. Poppy Pomfrey came out.

Seeing Hermione's pale face in Sean's arms, she quickly asked, "What happened to her?"

"I'm terrified. Could you please give me a full check-up, Mrs. Pomfrey?" Sean replied urgently.

Madam Pomfrey nodded and laid Hermione flat on the bed. She immediately began to carefully examine Hermione's body while gently comforting her.

Although Hermione was still somewhat dazed, she gradually regained some composure under Madam Pomfrey's gentle care.

Madam Pomfrey skillfully performed a thorough physical examination on Hermione, asking her how she felt from time to time and carefully recording the results of each examination.

After the examination, Mrs. Pomfrey turned to Sean with a relieved smile: "She's fine, just a bit shaken up. I'll prescribe some calming medication so she can get some rest."

Upon hearing this news, Sean breathed a long sigh of relief.

He looked at Mrs. Pomfrey gratefully: "Thank you, Mrs. Pomfrey, thank you so much."

Mrs. Pomfrey smiled and shook her head. "It's what I should do. Now, let her rest well."

With that, she told the two to wait where they were while she went to the back to prepare a calming agent.

Throughout this process, Hermione looked at Sean with a pitiful expression, her eyes filled with gratitude and dependence. After a long while, she finally spoke, "Thank you, Professor."

Upon hearing this, Sean ruffled Hermione's messy long hair without saying a word.

But you shouldn't mention it.

Hermione's hair feels really nice to the touch.

[Ding! Hermione Granger's favorability has increased!]
