HP: I beat the otome game at Hogwarts

Chapter 50 Divergence and Clues

“That’s right, Hagrid isn’t a criminal,” Lyra said firmly.

"Oh..." Harry and Ron's mood brightened immediately when they heard Lyra say the same thing.

It turns out that Lyra and Malfoy getting together was just an accident!

“Lyra, come here. Don’t stand with this evil Slytherin,” Ron said.

"You knew all along that Hagrid wasn't the real murderer, didn't you?" Lyra didn't move, turning to ask the platinum-haired young master beside her, "Although Hagrid was taken away by the Ministry of Magic, he's not the true heir to the Chamber of Secrets. It must be because Hagrid had some bad record in the past... and was made a scapegoat..."

"Hmph, that big idiot wants to be Slytherin's successor? Does he even deserve it?" Draco Malfoy sneered contemptuously, his expression exactly like his father Lucius Malfoy.

Harry and Ron angrily rolled up their sleeves again, gripped their wands tightly, and looked ready to rush up and beat Malfoy to a pulp at any moment.

“Do you know how I guessed it?” Lyra continued, staring into the platinum young master’s grey-blue eyes. “Because when I asked you to meet me, you were still very worried about me, afraid that I would meet that terrible heir, even though you already knew in advance that Hagrid would be taken away today.”

Draco Malfoy seemed completely taken aback by the dark-haired girl's words, his expression somewhat strange, but his overall demeanor was no longer so cold.

Harry and Ron's expressions were equally bizarre. They never expected Malfoy to worry about a Gryffindor Muggle wizard, especially since Malfoy had once publicly cursed him. This was just as unbelievable as hearing that Snape was actually a good person.

"So, do you really know who the heir to Slytherin is?" Lyra continued, seemingly oblivious to the strange expressions on the boys' faces in the room.

"...No matter who the heir is, you just need to stay with those stupid lions obediently." The platinum young master lowered his eyes, not giving Lyra a direct answer.

“Of course Lyra will be with the Gryffindors!” Harry finally couldn’t help but walk over and pull the dark-haired girl to his side. “Would she really be with the evil Slytherins?”

Ron also sided with Lyra, sharing her hatred of the enemy.

Three Gryffindors stood together, facing a lone Slytherin.

Draco Malfoy glanced at Lyra, who wasn't resistant to Harry, then at the other two Gryffindors, and suddenly let out a cold snort.

“You’re right. Who would want to be with Gryffindor? Noble Slytherins would never be with a brainless, stupid lion.”

Draco Malfoy reverted to his usual arrogant and rude demeanor as a young nobleman, holding his head high and hurrying away as if he would be contaminated by something dirty if he lingered even a step slower.

When the three returned to the castle, Harry and Ron walked silently beside Lyra, whether because Lyra had just stopped them from chasing Draco Malfoy or because Hagrid and Dumbledore had both left the school.

They wanted to see Hermione one last time before returning to the Gryffindor common room, but Madam Pomfrey had the doors of the school hospital firmly shut, refusing all visitors.

“No, I’m sorry, but the attackers might come back and wipe these people out completely…” Only after the three pleaded did Mrs. Pomfrey open the door to the school hospital a crack and solemnly refuse.

Soon, everyone knew that Headmaster Dumbledore had been dismissed.

Without Dumbledore's castle, fear spread rapidly in an unprecedented way. Unease was written on everyone's face, and the corridors were so quiet that even a ghost could be heard passing by—no one laughed in the corridors anymore.

Harry kept replaying Dumbledore's last words in his mind: "I will only truly leave the school when everyone here betrays me... At Hogwarts, those who ask for help always receive help."

But he still had doubts: Everyone is confused and frightened now, so who should they turn to for help?

Without Hermione's brilliant mind, Harry and Ron had to rely on their own efforts to analyze the situation, but neither of them understood the meaning of these words.

Hagrid's words were easy to understand, but there were no spiders in the castle for them to follow. At the same time, Ron was extremely reluctant—he had been tricked by the twins when he was a child, and spiders were his childhood nightmare.

Lately, the common room has been packed with people. Because of the new regulations, people have nowhere else to go, and everyone has a lot to talk about, so the common room is often still full of people past midnight.

Fred and George challenged Ron and Harry to a game of "same" cards, but Harry refused and sat alone by the window pondering Dumbledore and Hagrid's words.

Lyra, who was sitting in the corner writing her novel, overheard Harry's mutterings and suddenly interjected, "There are plenty of spiders in the Forbidden Forest, if you're thinking about Hagrid's message."

“What? Oh, right, spiders. Ron and I haven’t seen any anywhere in the castle,” Harry realized. “You mean, Hagrid means we should follow the spiders to the Forbidden Forest?”

“Or perhaps we should go to the Forbidden Forest to look for spiders?” Lyra said casually. “George, Fred, and I discovered spiders in the Forbidden Forest a long time ago. In fact, I don’t remember there being so many before. It seems that all the spiders in the castle have moved to the Forbidden Forest since the beginning of this semester.”

After listening to Lyra's words, Harry had a new plan. He got up and swapped with Ginny to team up with Ron and join the competition against the twins.

Unfortunately, Harry's luck seemed to be running out tonight. After teaming up with Ron, the two kept losing, and Ginny watched from the sidelines, her mood becoming increasingly downcast.

While George and Fred were celebrating their winning streak with high-fives, Harry winked at Ron.

Lyra kept thinking about what happened at Hagrid's cabin that night. She had been dragged into the cabin by the young master Platinum to watch the scene of the "criminal" being taken away, and Hagrid hadn't noticed that the two of them had sneaked in when the door was open.

Harry and Ron came in after them. They had hidden themselves very well, and if Draco hadn't been accidentally stepped on by Harry, probably no one would have noticed.

But—Lyra couldn't help but recall the look Dumbledore had given her as he glanced into the corner; she was certain that Headmaster Dumbledore had discovered that there were more than two people hiding there.

So who was Dumbledore talking to?

Things are getting more interesting.

Lyra watched with amusement as Harry deliberately lost at cards while exchanging glances with Ron, each lost in their own thoughts.
