HP: I beat the otome game at Hogwarts

Chapter 32 The Chaotic Duel Scene

It was as if they were afraid the flames between the dueling groups wouldn't be intense enough.

Professor Snape not only broke up the students who were sticking together for warmth (everyone was separated from their friends), but he even deliberately paired up those who didn't get along.

For example, Gryffindor's team captain Wood and Slytherin's captain Flint are paired together; Gryffindor's know-it-all is paired with a Slytherin girl who weighs twice as much as her; and the school's most famous rivals, Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy, are paired together.

It seems that all the lion cubs and snake cubs that were usually at odds with each other were now forced to be tied together.

Lockhart prefers to group lion cubs and eagle cubs together.

For example, Lee Jordan was paired with a beautiful Chinese-American girl from Ravenclaw, and Lyra beamed when she saw Lee. Ginny was paired with a blonde girl from Ravenclaw who had bulging eyes, looked a bit crazy, and wore carrot earrings, making her look rather odd.

Just as Lyra was worrying that Ginny might be bullied, Lockhart walked up to her and paired her with Roger Davis, who had forced his way in.

"Since there's a path to heaven, why don't you take it..." Lyra thought to herself, but gave Roger Davis an exceptionally bright smile.

Roger Davis was overjoyed to see Lyra's unusually cold demeanor and her charming smile. He thought he was close to winning over this unattainable beauty. He imitated Lockhart's earlier bowing manner, making various hand gestures while bowing, trying his best to appear elegant.

The two raised their wands to their chests.

"one--"

Roger Davis was torn: What should he do? His Defense Against the Dark Arts grades were quite good; if he beat her, would she be unhappy? Lockhart looked really hurt after that fall...

"two--"

But if I deliberately lose to her, will she not notice and think I lack masculinity?

"three--"

Just as Roger Davis decided to gently cast the Disarming Charm, so as not to lose face or hurt the beautiful woman, Lyra opposite him had already swiftly cast the spell. A dazzling red light emanated from the tip of her wand, instantly striking Roger Davis. He was as if attacked by a tremendous force, flying directly across the entire stage, and finally crashing to the ground with a loud "bang," losing consciousness.

"Cool!" George dodged a Hufflepuff attack and saw Lyra's exceptionally effective Disarm Charm, so he whistled.

“Oh my God, oh my God!” Lockhart exclaimed, jumping up and down in the crowd. “Oh, Miss Fawcett… pinch harder, the bleeding will stop immediately, Butt, can you still stand up…?”

Lyra thought she had made too much of a commotion, but after she knocked Roger Davis unconscious, she realized that the whole scene was in chaos.

A plume of green smoke filled the air above the entire arena, apparently caused by someone mispronouncing a spell. Many people were already lying on the floor, whether from exhaustion or unconsciousness, it was unclear; the younger students were chanting spells loudly, but it had absolutely no effect; one of the older students had already been afflicted with donkey ears by his opponent, clearly a result of a failed transformation; and seeing that the disarming spell had no effect, many more simply engaged in hand-to-hand combat—

Hermione's head was caught in a tall, strong girl's hand, and she screamed in pain, trying to pull herself out by her hair; Wood and Flint, those two big guys, looked like they were in a boxing match; Arya and a Slytherin girl rolled around and started tearing at each other.

"Stop it, all of you—" Lockhart shouted, seeing the situation getting out of control. He glanced nervously at Professor Snape, who exuded an aura of cold intimidation.

“I think I should teach you how to stop unfriendly magic.” Lockhart tried to pick a pair of students to come up and demonstrate. “How about Longbottom and Finley, who would you like to volunteer?”

"Not good at all. Longbottom can even mispronounce the simplest spell," Snape sneered. "In my opinion, Malfoy and Potter should come up here and demonstrate—"

Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy took the stage amidst Lockhart's enthusiastic applause.

Their supporters immediately cheered them on from below the stage.

"Beat him up, Harry—" Lyra could still hear the twins shouting from the crowd. Lyra thought that at most, the younger students would cast some prank spells on each other, and at worst, they'd just throw their wands away and fight like they did that night of the night out—

"A dragon emerges from its cave!" the platinum-haired young master of Slytherin roared, conjuring up a long black snake.

The crowd screamed and quickly backed away, clearing a large open space and revealing Harry standing there helplessly.

Lyra and many of the older students raised their wands, ready to try and save Harry if things went wrong, but Professor Snape clearly knew what was going on. He lazily raised his wand, intending to enjoy Potter's scare a little longer before getting rid of the snake, but—

"Let me do it!" Lockhart, the conspicuous one, jumped out again, waving threateningly at the black snake. With a bang, the snake not only didn't disappear, but instead shot into the sky and then crashed down, which completely enraged it.

Hissing and flicking its tongue, it bared its fangs at a Hufflepuff boy, assuming an attack stance.

Then, under the watchful eyes of the entire school, Harry stepped forward and hissed like a snake, as if commanding a black snake to attack; the sound was chilling.

The Hufflepuff boys ran out of the Great Hall in terror. Lyra saw Professor Snape give Harry a deep look with an indescribable complexity, and the surrounding crowd was all pointing at Harry and whispering among themselves.

Fortunately, Ron and Hermione reacted quickly and immediately pulled Harry away from the Great Hall.

Normally, it would take a day or two for a message to spread throughout Hogwarts, but this time Harry essentially revealed his extraordinary side to the entire school. Almost instantly, everyone knew that Harry Potter was a Parseltongue.

Naturally, Harry's life became less than easy.

Many people at the school thought Harry might be a great-great-great-great-great-grandson of Slytherin or something like that.

After all, the Potter family has always been of pure blood. You know, these pure bloods who have survived to this day have intermarried because of their small circle. If you count them carefully, they are all related to each other.

For example, Malfoy and Black are relatives, Black and Potter are relatives, Weasley and Malfoy are relatives, Potter and Weasley are also relatives... In short, that is to say, Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Draco Malfoy can all be considered distant relatives of each other.

Harry couldn't accept this tragic reality at all. From his personal perspective, it was hard to say whether being related to the Malfoys or being treated as a great-great-great-great-great-grandson of Slytherin was worse.
