Chapter 29 Three People Spying on the Scene

Layla was stunned, never expecting there to be someone behind the curtain.

Harry, the native in the hospital bed, and the platinum-haired young master were also confused, but soon, the two, who had been mortal enemies since the start of the school year, were about to start arguing.

But the professors' footsteps had already reached the entrance of the university hospital!

In the nick of time, Layla covered their mouths tightly with one hand each.

"Ugh—" Harry froze as if sealed, his body stiffening completely, as if all sensation in his body had vanished, and he could only feel his lips, where a slender, pale hand was pressing down.

"Ugh—" Draco first felt a warmth on his lips, then felt the blood rush to his head, and his cheeks burned. He wanted to loudly rebuke this freak for having no manners whatsoever, but in reality, he could only let out a barely audible breath.

Lyra felt she was the uncrowned queen of the night out, managing to escape with two boys by herself – it was a close call. Just as she drew the curtains to cover the two boys' mouths to prevent them from making a sound, the professors pushed open the doors of the school hospital.

That was really close.

The two boys also heard the professors enter the room, and no matter what complicated thoughts they had, they gradually calmed down.

Seeing that the two had calmed down and didn't seem about to fight, Leila gently released her hand and made a "shh" gesture to them, silently warning them.

Then Leila carefully pulled back the curtain to create a small gap, and all three of them held their breath and peered outside.

The first thing the three saw was the back of Headmaster Dumbledore, who was wearing a long nightgown and a nightcap embroidered with silver stars.

The principal stepped back into the ward, carrying something that looked like a statue in his hands, while Professor McGonagall carried the other half of the statue. Together, they carefully placed the object on the bed.

The three of them closed their eyes in fright when they saw Professor McGonagall hurry past Harry's bedside.

Fortunately, the professor had no idea that three conscious young wizards were hiding on the bed with the curtains drawn.

Soon, Professor McGonagall and Mrs. Pomfrey rushed back to the ward, and then the three of them heard a horrified sigh.

"What's going on here?" Mrs. Pomfrey asked in a low voice, bending down to examine the statue.

“Another attack,” Dumbledore said. “McGold found him on the stairs.”

“He also had a bunch of grapes with him,” Professor McGonagall said. “We guessed he was trying to sneak over here to visit Potter.”

By the moonlight, the three of them could see that the "statue" was Colin Creevey, the first-year boy from Gryffindor who carried a camera and loved taking pictures everywhere.

Harry's stomach clenched violently.

Leila also felt very bad. She remembered that bunch of grapes; it was she who had given them to that little boy.

The only Slytherin among the three didn't look too good either, and no one knew what he was thinking.

But all three of them could still clearly hear the conversation outside.

"Petrified?"

“Yes, I heard a noise while on patrol and rushed to the stairs where I found this poor child…” Professor McGonagall saw the principal take the camera from Colin’s stiff fingers and asked anxiously, “Could he have taken pictures of the attacker?”

Dumbledore didn't answer. He pried open the back cover of the camera, and a hissing sound came out of it.

Even the three people hiding behind the thick curtains could smell the pungent odor of burning plastic.

"They've all melted!" Mrs. Pomfrey exclaimed.

“Does this mean—” Professor McGonagall’s lips trembled.

“This means,” Dumbledore said, “that the Chamber of Secrets has indeed been opened again.”

The news that Colin Crevey had been attacked and was now lying in the school hospital as a stone statue spread throughout the school in less than half a day. Rumors flew everywhere in the entire castle, and everyone was suspicious.

Because the one petrified this time was a Muggle first-year student, all the Muggle-born wizards felt uneasy, especially the first-year students. Regardless of their bloodline, they all huddled together like frightened fledglings, fearing that they would be attacked if they were left alone.

Ginny, the youngest daughter of the Weasleys, was Colin Creevey's deskmate in Charms class. After learning of his attack, she was extremely upset and reportedly had nightmares all night.

To cheer up their sister, the twins would take turns conjuring up feathers or strange scabies, often suddenly jumping in front of Ginny to tease her, much to Percy's chagrin, leading to a big fight among the three brothers. Of course, it was mostly Percy yelling and shouting, while the twins just took the opportunity to tease him.

Although equally clueless, Ron, at least not with terrible taste, would sit next to Ginny during meals and try to offer a few words of comfort—Ron, Harry, and Hermione had all been rushing around lately, seemingly very busy. But in reality, Lyra hadn't seen Hermione in the library for many days, which was unbelievable for the studious Hermione.

That night, after the three of them eavesdropped behind the curtains and heard the professors leave, Harry pounced on them and started fighting with the Slytherin platinum boy on the bed.

Lyra used a spell to separate the two—Harry clearly believed that Malfoy opened the Chamber of Secrets and petrified Colin.

Lyra, however, thought this was unlikely. This platinum-haired young master had spent half the night with her on a night out, but Harry angrily pointed out that perhaps Malfoy had petrified Colin before they even met.

Lyra: "..." This sounds so familiar, isn't it the same line of reasoning that Professor Snape used when he was criticizing Harry?

Faced with the accusations, the platinum boy, with an air of superiority that saying another word to them would tarnish the glory of the Malfoy family, arrogantly walked away with his head held high.

Harry didn't give chase. But judging from the trio's mysteriously busy appearance now, they're probably still secretly investigating the truth.

Lyra was a well-known beautiful girl at school, and everyone knew she was a Mongrel wizard. In fact, the background the system had given her seemed to be that one of her parents was a wizard, but she couldn't be bothered to clarify, since to her, being half-blood or Mongrel made no difference.

But when Muggle-born students are attacked, a trend of exchanging amulets and other protective items emerges in the school, and everyone assumes Lyra is Muggle-born, and Slytherin's Malfoy publicly threatens her that she will be the next victim—when all these factors come together, things get interesting.

Lyra received a huge number of amulets, exorcism items, and all sorts of strange and wonderful things.
