HP: I beat the otome game at Hogwarts

Chapter 2 Encounter in France

Sunshine, beach, bikini.

Leila took a sip of chilled coconut juice and sighed contentedly.

A life spent on vacation is the real life!

Leila lay lazily on the beach, showing off her body in the sun. The young girl's charm radiated infinitely under the alluring embrace of her bikini.

Her long, black hair, like seaweed, cascaded over her shoulders. Against the backdrop of golden sand and a burgundy bikini, her fair skin resembled the finest porcelain from the East, delicate and flawless, shimmering in the sunlight.

Almost the moment the boys on the beach saw the black-haired girl in red, their hearts were filled with excitement and a desire to try their luck. Many bold suitors approached her, but the girl politely declined them all.

Leila sat up, gathered her stray hairs, and prepared to braid them into a thick braid. She had seen many girls dressed like this at the beach yesterday, and it looked quite exotic. She wanted to try it today too.

Suddenly, a large, hand-woven straw hat fell from the sky and covered Leila's head, blocking out the dazzling sunlight and the equally dazzling girl.

"Good morning, my rose." A deep, magnetic voice sounded in my ear.

"Oh, good morning, Ray." Leila looked up and saw a handsome face. This tall, handsome boy with perfect chocolate skin and long, narrow, golden-brown eyes was a new friend she had met at the beach bonfire party last night.

"Beep—A romanceable character has been detected nearby. Confirm romance?"

The system has been popping up notifications since last night. Leila smiled at Lei, but her eyes were full of amusement.

I thought it was just a romantic encounter during my vacation in France, but it seems the handsome chocolate guy in front of me is not so simple.

The realistic immersive holographic game she entered was called "The Magical World of Maidens," a single-player otome game that Lyra eagerly purchased as soon as it was released.

She logged in as a witch, currently a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in England. Through her observation and exploration, she discovered that only wizards in the magical world could trigger the system's romanceable hints.

In other words, only wizards can become her romantic partners; ordinary people without magic will not even be included in the list of potential suitors provided by the system.

Then the charming, handsome man beside her, who tried so hard to disguise himself as an ordinary person but was not surprised at all by her little witch habits and accepted them well, and who could be smelled faintly of an anti-aging agent when she got close, was very suspicious.

It's obvious that this tall, handsome chocolate guy is also a wizard.

And they may also know that Lyra is a wizard.

Given that Lyra's activities have always been confined to Hogwarts, and Hogwarts is a closed boarding school, he knows Lyra, but Lyra doesn't know him. So the other party is most likely a classmate she doesn't know well at school—after all, he only drank the age-enhancing potion and not Polyjuice Potion.

Oh, he's a handsome guy who likes to play hide-and-seek. Layla's interest was completely piqued.

The two spent a very pleasant week in France.

Surfing together, swimming together, taking walks together, dancing together, having candlelight dinners together.

Hold hands in a lavender field, embrace while waiting for the sunrise, and kiss under a sky full of fireworks.

They did everything romantic, but Lyra never uncovered Ray's true nature, and neither of them honestly revealed their identities. Of course, to maintain the mystery surrounding the handsome chocolate guy, Lyra also didn't click to confirm the romance, much to the frustration of the system, which had already quietly shut down.

On the last day of July, Lyra received an owl from England. It was a letter from the Weasley brothers, inviting her to their home once again and urging her to return to England as soon as possible, as they had a mysterious surprise waiting for her.

As Lyra focused on reading the letter, the corners of her mouth turned up in a smile. Ray, who was peeling fruit for her, couldn't help but feel a little jealous. He deliberately fed Lyra a slice of sour orange, trying to draw her attention away from the letter and back to himself.

"Honey, am I really less valuable than a letter?" Ray feigned aggrievedness and acted coquettishly.

“Of course not, darling, but it’s a letter from my best friend at school.” Leila deliberately paused for a few seconds on the word “school.”

"Oh, I really envy Honey's good friends at school. I wish I could see my rose every day in the future." Ray wrapped himself around Leila, his posture intimate, but his eyes were not on Leila.

"Don't worry, you might have your chance soon," Leila said meaningfully, looking at Ray who was gazing around and avoiding eye contact.

Given that Lyra was prepared to accept the Weasley twins' invitation, the two parted ways in France on the second day of August. Before leaving, Ray pestered Lyra to agree to be pen pals, and they finally said their goodbyes with reluctance.

Although the chocolate guy was charming and interesting, Leila happily enjoyed her time alone. She shopped to her heart's content on the Champs-Élysées in Paris, leaving her mark on every store, even cafes and dessert shops. After all, isn't it normal for a girl to eat some ice cream to replenish her energy after shopping?

After exploring the Muggle world, she even made her way to the shopping streets of the French wizarding world, where she spent lavishly, buying a ton of the latest trendy clothes and accessories from French witches, the most fashionable magical lipsticks and perfumes, as well as many local snacks and candies, and even a whole bunch of prank items—gifts for the twins.

After spending her last gold coin, Leila had to sadly say goodbye to France, the shopping paradise. Luckily, her hotel and return flight were booked in advance, otherwise she would have had to beg her way back to England.

An hour before boarding her plane, Lyra hurriedly wrote back to the twins, informing them of her arrival time at the Burrow. She used pale purple parchment she had bought from a magic shop in France, which was filled with the rich scent of lavender, hoping to share some enchanting French charm with her good friends in England.

Then, she wrote a serious letter to her editor at the British Magic World Publishing Company, explaining that her disappearance for the past six months was not to avoid writing, but to travel and gather inspiration for her new book. She now had ideas for the new work and they could discuss the plot in detail in a few days. She said that the book not only had classic cliché plots but also charming exotic elements, and she believed that the new book would not disappoint him.

When Lyra wrote this letter, she specially used the most expensive parchment and the finest dragon's blood ink. The entire letter was written in a positive and flattering tone, hoping that the editor would forgive her for disappearing for half a year after receiving the letter.

It seems that dating a Slytherin isn't all bad; at least I learned to assess situations and be flexible.
