Struggling to survive at Hogwarts

Chapter 66 Professor Lockhart

From the moment Thea entered, Harry's eyes were fixed on her figure.

“Hey! Dude, what are you looking at?” Ron’s words interrupted Harry’s gaze.

“…It’s nothing.” Harry looked away, forcing himself not to pay attention to the laughter coming from over there.

The laughter of Thea and the others was interrupted by a male wizard named Gilderoy Lohart, who walked into the classroom wearing a ginger-yellow robe.

When Thea looked up, the other person's slightly exaggerated smile made his gleaming white teeth even more conspicuous.

“Me!” Lockhart pointed to his own photo and blinked.

"Giddon Lockhart, Order of Merlin, Third Class, Honorary Member of the League Against the Dark Arts, five-time winner of the Wizarding Weekly's Most Charming Smile Award—"

But I don't bring that up all the time. I don't exorcise Wanlun's ghost with a smile!

His extremely exaggerated opening remarks stunned the young wizards below!

Thea and the others were no exception. Daphne digested the strange greasiness in her throat and leaned closer to Thea, whispering, "Is this what you meant by not underestimating anyone?"

“Shut up, Daphne!” Thea was so angry and embarrassed that she wanted to cover Daphne’s mouth.

"I am very happy to be able to come to Hogwarts as a professor, although this was not in my plan. I was originally going to go on an adventure in the Albanian forest!"

But I couldn't resist Dumbledore's enthusiastic invitation, so I came here!

He paused, waiting for the young wizards to cheer and applaud.

But in the end, only a few little witches, who were clearly attracted by his appearance, applauded him.

Lockhart was taken aback by the aloofness, but he quickly retorted, "Well! I know, young wizards this age are quite shy!"

As he spoke, he winked at everyone.

vomit--

vomit--

Good heavens! How can there be such greasy people in the world who don't even realize it!

How did someone like him learn such a sophisticated forgetting spell?

Thea couldn't help but fall into self-doubt.

Lockhart on the stage, however, completely oblivious to the young wizards' discontent, and continued to shout enthusiastically:

“I promise you! You won’t be disappointed. I have a lot to teach you, but—” he drawled.

"Before class begins, we need to do a short quiz!"

Thea looked at the test paper on the table:

1. What is Gilderoy Lockhart's favorite color?

2. What were Gilderoy Lockhart's ambitions in his life?

3. What do you consider to be Gidrow Lockhart's greatest achievement to date?

And so on, filling three whole pages, with the last question being: 54. What is Gilderoy Lockhart's birthday? What is his ideal birthday present?

Thea felt a wave of dizziness and cursed inwardly at this garish peacock!

If I am guilty, let me go straight to Azkaban! Instead of letting this peacock poison my eyes!

Dumbledore! What a ruthless plan you have!

Although Thea was cursing in her heart, she honestly wrote down the answers with her hands.

Thea's speed shocked everyone around her. Faced with the stunned looks of the crowd, Thea chose to bury her head in the test paper!

Damn peacock! My lifelong reputation is ruined today!

If it weren't for my perfect report card...

Thea was inwardly weeping.

Not long after, Lockhart collected the exam papers.

As Lockhart's eyes grew brighter, Thea lowered her head further.

"Oh! Merlin above! Look! What I have discovered!"

Next, Lockhart pulled out Thea's test paper separately and showed it to everyone—

"Look, all correct! All correct!" Lockhart exclaimed excitedly. "Perfect score! I give Miss Black a hundred points! She's the best little wizard I've ever met!"

After speaking, Lockhart accurately spotted Thea's location in everyone's eyes and gave her a smile.

"Thank you for the compliment, Professor," Thea said with difficulty, suppressing her urge to vomit.

Lockhart, observing Thea's politeness, smiled wider and louder, declaring, "Because of Miss Black's excellence, I'm giving Slytherin twenty points!"

Thea sat down steadily to everyone's astonishment. Draco turned around and looked at her with the eyes of someone looking at a monstrosity: "How did you write this? Did you also...?"

"So you like Lockhart? Oh my god!" Daphne exclaimed dramatically, covering her mouth in a low voice.

"I've memorized all the textbooks for this semester," Thea said slowly, suppressing her urge to escape Earth.

Draco: "..."

Draco: "...Are House grades really that important?"

His gaze gradually turned to disbelief.

Thea: "...Yes."

Facing the determined gazes of the Slytherins around her, Thea comforted herself: At least I got... House points.

Unsurprisingly, Hermione also got a perfect score on the test, but because of Thea's actions just now, the others were not as surprised as Thea.

"Now, be careful! What you're about to face in this classroom is the most terrifying thing ever!"

As the atmosphere gradually built up, Lockhart bent down and pulled a large cage covered with a cloth from behind the podium, gently placing it on the table.

"But remember, as long as I'm here, you won't be harmed! I am a recipient of the Order of Merlin, Third Class!"

Even now, Lockhart doesn't forget to promote his achievements.

Upon hearing this, Thea slowly tightened her grip on the magic wand in her hand.

The next second, Lockhart pulled back the black cloth, and before anyone could react, he flung open the cage door!

In an instant, a group of dark blue creatures, about eight inches tall, with small, pointed faces and extremely sharp, piercing voices, shot out of the cage like rockets!

The furnishings in the room were overturned by them, and the chandeliers that kept falling from the ceiling made the young wizards look quite disheveled.

Even the ink bottle and books on the little wizard's table were damaged.

Two of them grabbed Neville by the ears and lifted him up.

Some even rushed out of the window, shards of glass flying everywhere.

In an instant, screams, the sound of shattering glass, and the cries of pain from the young wizards who had unfortunately bumped into the table filled the air.

Seeing that things were going badly, Lockhart actually escaped through a secret door in the classroom!

This utterly disappointed many young wizards who had placed their hopes on him.

Thea seized the opportunity and first cast a binding spell on the little sprites tearing books off the table, then shouted, "Classmates! Take out your wands! Hold them tight! Chase these little sprites out of our classroom!"

Given Thea's prestige in Slytherin and the achievements of the study group, most of the young wizards cast the spells they knew.

Thea wasn't idle either. First, she used a Levitation Charm to rescue Neville, who was trapped high up, and then she used a Binding Charm to tie up the little elves like dumplings.

Gradually, the young wizards also figured out the trick and began to cooperate with each other.

One spell knocked the sprites down from the air, another spell bound them, and then they were stuffed back into their cages.

However, due to the young wizards' lack of ability, the probability of the spells hitting their targets was giving Thea a headache.

So Thea could only seize every opportunity to help the young wizards eliminate the remaining survivors.

For a moment, spells flew around the classroom.
