Struggling to survive at Hogwarts
Chapter 64 Belief
Inside the principal's office.
A brief silence fell over the principal's office after Thea left.
It wasn't until Delis tentatively spoke up, "She values that child highly, and she's very kind, Dumbledore,"
"I know, I know," Dumbledore replied slowly.
He glanced at the candies on the table that Thea hadn't touched; it seemed that ever since they came to Hogwarts, Thea had never accepted any candy from him.
“You can rest assured now, can’t you? She doesn’t seem like… Tom at all. She understands the meaning of love and has the capacity to love.” Delis continued.
"But she is... his child! His heir! Blood ties cannot be faked!"
Moreover, she knew about her background when she was 10 years old. Do you really think she didn't harbor any resentment?
A Slytherin prodigy, born in an orphanage, with a beautiful appearance and gentle temperament, she has only been in school for a year, yet not a single professor can find a fault with her!
She's definitely faking it! Just like before...!
Principal Dippes, who is usually silent, exclaimed excitedly.
Armando Dippet was the headmaster of Hogwarts during Tom Riddle's, or Voldemort's, school years, and also the headmaster of Hogwarts before Dumbledore.
It could be said that, apart from Dumbledore, this former headmaster was probably the only one in the entire school who truly understood Tom.
Faced with the former headmaster's questioning, Dumbledore leaned back in his chair, somewhat helplessly, and said, "I've been observing her since she enrolled. I can tell that Thea is different from him. At least Thea knows what love is."
She would befriend all young wizards, even those who were Muggle-born; she seemed eternally gentle, but she would also have a falling out with Harry and the others over the House Cup, even going so far as to publicly question me about whether I was biased towards Glenn...
"She's not like Tom!" Dumbledore concluded.
"...So, you believe her?" Armando asked, somewhat incredulously.
But this time, Dumbledore chose to remain silent and did not give an answer, and the office fell silent again.
Thea had no idea what happened in the principal's office.
Thea had already returned to the Slytherin common room. Because she was delayed while taking Daisy back, Thea missed the prefects' address.
"I heard that Grandfondo has gotten into trouble again?"
Faced with several pairs of bright eyes, Thea took a sip of pumpkin juice and calmly changed the subject.
Upon hearing the mention of Gryffindor, Draco immediately became excited. "I know! Potter and the others arrived in a flying car! And Muggles even saw them!"
Ignoring the pitying looks from those around him, as if they were traitors, Draco continued to enthusiastically share with Thea, "Potter and the others will definitely be expelled!"
“Impossible! Dumbledore is so protective of Potter and the others, how could he possibly expel them? I think Professor Snape would definitely deduct a lot of points from Grenfell!” Theodore chimed in.
“But Potter and his gang broke the Secret Law! And Dumbledore is still protecting them?” Zabini also raised the question.
And so, the three boys began to discuss the incident involving Potter and his friends, completely ignoring the disapproving looks Daphne was giving them.
Thea found it amusing, picked up the pumpkin juice again, and hid the corners of her mouth that were secretly pouting.
Changing the subject, plan in place!
Daphne has now given up on the idea of saving the boy and is now planning to work with Pansy to "interrogate" Thea!
Unexpectedly, as soon as she turned her head, she saw Thea using the act of drinking pumpkin juice to cover up her sly laughter, looking as cunning as a little fox.
Immediately, Daphne abandoned her idea again, picked up the teapot on the table and refilled Thea's cup, saying indulgently, "Laugh if you want to, why are you sneaking around?"
Daphne's voice wasn't loud, but it attracted the attention of the three boys.
Seeing the intense gazes from several people, Thea's smile froze on her face, drawing schadenfreude from Daphne.
"You're dead!" Thea signaled to Daphne with her eyes.
Daphne didn't take it to heart at all and continued to laugh heartily.
In the end, even with everyone's threats and inducements, Thea didn't reveal why she had just gone to see Dumbledore.
Seeing that Thea really wouldn't say, the others stopped insisting.
Theodore, however, was stubbornly determined to ask Daphne about the person Thea was interested in.
He was sitting next to Thea at the time, but he didn't notice who Thea was paying attention to.
Fortunately, Zabini reacted quickly and stopped Theodore, who was about to court disaster. "What are you going to ask?"
"Go ask the freshman that Thea is interested in?" Theodore asked, somewhat confused.
"And then what? You're going to go and get close to her/him?" Zabini pressed again.
This time, it was Theodore's turn to be unable to answer.
Zabini looked at Theodore with a hint of disappointment and said, "Didn't you see that Daphne gave up? She's so smart! She realized that Thea didn't want anyone to know, so she kept her mouth shut."
"You're so stubborn, you just had to run right into Thea's gun!"
"What do you mean, 'walking into the line of fire'? How could Thea do this to me?" Theodore couldn't believe it.
Zabini was truly amused by his childhood friend's pettiness. "So what kind of person do you think Thea is? A gentle and kind saint? Ha! Don't forget, she's a Slytherin!"
Putting everything else aside, have you forgotten what happened to Pansy last year? Pansy crossed Thea's line... Have you forgotten how much effort she had to put in to stay in the group afterward?
Don't think you're the special one! Everyone's relationship with Thea is about the same except for Draco! That young master Draco may seem simple-minded, but he's probably quite perceptive. It's just you who fell head over heels for him!
Zabini's words truly came from the bottom of his heart; he genuinely wanted his childhood friend to regain his senses and not lose his brain!
Upon hearing Zabini's words, Theodore turned pale and then collapsed onto the sofa, unable to recover for a long time.
However, he has now given up on the idea of asking Daphne.
Seeing Theodore's absent-minded look, Zabini clicked his tongue and couldn't help but feel relieved: Sure enough! Love makes people stupid! Luckily, I managed to keep my composure!
