Struggling to survive at Hogwarts

Chapter 31 On the Train

King's Cross Station, Platform 9¾.

Draco listened helplessly to his mother's nagging, even though she had said these instructions at least ten times.

He glanced at Thea, only to find that there was no sign of reluctance on her face. She listened attentively to Narcissa's instructions, nodding occasionally, as if she wanted to write down all of Narcissa's "golden rules" in a notebook.

Draco's eyes hurt from looking at it, so he turned his head away in disdain.

"Little Dragon, remember to listen to your sister at school and don't bully her!" Narcissa said, tapping her son's forehead.

Draco was somewhat incredulous; he wasn't a child anymore!

He's already 11 years old!

He turned to look at his father, hoping his father could understand him.

But Lucius still disappointed him.

Seeing the disbelief in his son's eyes, Lucius's eyes flashed with affection, and he echoed, "Just like your mother said, listen to your sister at school."

Draco, having been dealt another blow, resigned himself to his fate and obediently said, "Okay, Mom and Dad, I'll listen to my sister."

Lucius received his son's assurance, and a hint of satisfaction flashed in his grey-blue eyes.

But when he saw the well-behaved Thea, he couldn't help but sigh, "If only my silly son had even a fraction of Thea's wit, I wouldn't be so worried."

And Draco! Stop looking at that train over there, your parents are standing right here! Stop looking so bored!

No one heard Lucius's inner roar, but Thea noticed the way Lucius looked at her.

She quickly understood Lucius's concerns and stepped forward, saying, "Uncle Lucius, don't worry, you'll keep an eye on Draco."

I'll keep an eye on Draco, but if he insists on courting disaster, I might not be able to stop him.

Lucius's eyes flickered, clearly understanding Thea's subtext. He barely suppressed his anger and said, "With Thea here, I'm naturally at ease, but Thea should also keep in touch with us often. Cici will miss you very much."

Thea, I hope you can take good care of Draco for Cici's sake.

When Thea heard him mention Narcissa, a flash of anger crossed her eyes, but remembering how Narcissa had cared for her over the past two years, she hesitated for a moment before saying, "Aunt Cici is so kind, of course I will write back often."

I promised to take good care of Draco, but only for Aunt Sissy's sake.

Lucius was relieved to receive Thea's agreement.

Draco couldn't understand the misunderstanding between Thea and his father; he just thought his dad was being so long-winded.

Lucius: "..."

As the train's departure time approached, Narcissa kissed the two children on the forehead before reluctantly watching them board the train.

The train continued to move slowly forward under Narcissa's watchful gaze until Lucius finally put his arm around Narcissa and prepared to go home.

After Draco and Thea boarded the train, they quickly arrived at the front compartment that Goyle and Crabbe had reserved for them in advance—Malfoy's privilege.

Thea greeted the two big guys with a smile and bought a bunch of snacks from the salesperson as a thank you for saving seats for Gore and Crabbe.

Draco saw that Thea was pretending to be a good person again and snorted disdainfully.

Gore and Draco were initially excited to take the snacks, but upon seeing Draco's reaction, they immediately stopped reaching out and looked at him hesitantly.

Upon seeing this, a dark glint flashed in Thea's eyes, and she smiled and playfully scolded, "Draco."

Draco was a little embarrassed and could only wave to Gore and the other man, telling them to take it themselves.

Not long after, the carriage door was opened again, and Thea smelled a familiar fragrance.

The next second, the girl's sweet voice rang out: "Thea, what are you doing here with Draco! I've been looking for you for ages!"

Before Thea could answer, Draco couldn't help but say, "Daphne, are you still breastfeeding? Why are you always clinging to Thea?"

Daphne, hearing Draco's words, retorted sharply, "Oh, young master, aren't you also clinging to Thea? Haven't you been weaned yet?"

Thea was amused by the two's childish bickering, but Pansy, who came in with Daphne, didn't laugh. Instead, she sided with Draco and retorted to Daphne, "Thea is Draco's sister, but Thea isn't your sister!"

Daphne wasn't surprised to see her friend "betray" her on the spot. Instead, she turned her attention to Pansy: "Isn't Draco your brother too? Why are you sticking to him like that?"

Seeing that Pansy and Draco were speechless because of her, Daphne finally took Thea's arm with satisfaction. She had been thinking of doing just that.

Pansy didn't want to see Daphne's smug look, but she couldn't argue with her, so she could only vent her anger on Gore and Crabbe.

"Gall! Crabbe! What are you two still doing here? Get out of here!"

Goyle and Crabbe were stunned. They instinctively looked at Draco, hoping for an answer.

Draco was displeased to see Pansy being so rude to Crabbe and Goyle, showing no regard for the fact that they were his men.

But since Pansy was a girl and they had grown up together, he couldn't directly offend her, so the problem was passed on to Thea.

Thea received Draco's distress signal and, feeling helpless, could only step forward and say to the two bewildered people, "Goyle, Crabbe, you two go sit in the carriage where Pansy and Daphne were. Also, here are some cookies that Aunt Cici asked me to give to you, as well as some snacks on the table. Take them with you."

Thea successfully won the gratitude of the two big guys by exchanging snacks and cookies.

Pansy thought the matter of changing carriages was over, but she still wouldn't let Thea off the hook, saying sarcastically, "Miss Black is really generous."

Thea wasn't in the mood to argue with Pansy. She didn't know what was wrong with this girl; ever since Thea first met her, Pansy seemed to dislike her.

At first, it was just a simple bickering, but after Thea retaliated, the two had reached the point where they hated each other.

Normally, Thea would argue with her for a while.

But today was different. Thea planned to conserve her energy for the upcoming dinner and had no intention of getting involved in the little girl's hair-pulling.

Thea sat down on the sofa and tapped the table lightly. She said, "I'm going to rest. If you want to make noise, go outside."

Then he simply leaned his head back on the sofa and began to close his eyes and rest.

Pansy was infuriated by Thea's complete disregard for her and was about to confront her when Draco and Daphne, who had anticipated this, stopped her.

Just kidding, who would dare disturb Thea while she was resting, except for Pansy who didn't know the inside story?

Draco was surprised that someone actually dared to do it.
