Harry Potter: This senior is pretty strong

Chapter 55 I Want to Take You With Me

The Act on the Reasonable Restraint of Underage Wizards, enacted in 1875, has been continuously improved. The introduction of "traces" has been a valuable supplement to the Act. Traces are detection spells cast on wizards under the age of 17, primarily monitoring their off-campus behavior.

However, in the actual implementation of the Restriction Act, the most basic requirement is that "minor wizards must not intentionally use magic in front of Muggles." As for situations where a young wizard practices magic in a wizarding family (many have practiced it), or practices or uses it privately, or tries it out when buying a wand, etc., even if the wizard reports it, the Ministry of Magic will not send Aurors to arrest the person. As long as it is not too blatant or causes serious consequences, the Ministry of Magic will at most send a warning letter.

For wizards who are not enrolled in school or are Muggle-born, the Ministry of Magic's oversight is relatively weak (illegal wizards are even completely untraceable). Moreover, these children are prone to magical out-of-control behaviors when they are unsupervised, such as making zoo windows disappear or knocking down trees. In these situations, the Ministry of Magic has difficulty responding in time and can only obtain information through other channels.

In short, as long as you don't cause any trouble, the Ministry of Magic won't come knocking on your door.

(Note: This is meant to be a general explanation. Please don't overanalyze the "Binding Law" and the "Traces." Look at Harry's behavior from the first to the last book. As long as no one in the higher-ups is targeting you, the "Binding Law" is actually quite flexible. I know the Traces are unavoidable, but there are some things Harry and Malfoy can do that the protagonist can't. Consider this a major plot twist. Also, the Traces are very important; the protagonist definitely won't cause trouble easily unless it's necessary for the plot.)

Given all of the above, after cautiously experimenting with the Disillusionment Charm, Qin Yu refrained from using it further and resisted the urge to go downstairs and scare Hermione and Crookshanks.

It has to be said that Dumbledore was indeed someone Qin Yu could completely trust. After handing the things over to Dumbledore, Qin Yu felt much more at ease.

It was late at night, and he gradually felt sleepy. He lay down on the bed and soon fell into a deep sleep.

……

Over the next few days, Hermione would hold the little yellow cat Crookshanks in her arms whenever she had the chance, and the bond between the two quickly grew stronger.

What's even more amazing is that Crookshan actually learned to use the toilet.

This was certainly thanks to Hermione's persistent teaching, but it must also be admitted that this cat was indeed very intelligent, which made Qin Yu suspect that it might be a wizard in disguise, that is, in Animagus form. However, Crookshanks never "revealed its true form".

“I’ve been teaching him to say ‘Mom’ lately. By the time you come back from school, he might already know it,” Hermione said with a smile.

However, after saying this, she suddenly realized that the Christmas holiday was about to end, and Qin Yu would be returning to school tomorrow.

Thinking of this, the happy look in her eyes turned into melancholy and loneliness.

Qin Yu saw this and said gently, "I'll be back soon, and I'll write to you often..."

To everyone's surprise, Hermione pouted and said, "I don't want to just write letters..."

After spending the ten-odd days together during the Christmas holiday, Hermione felt that simply writing letters was no longer enough for her; it would be better if Qin were by her side.

However, Qin eventually had to return to school.

Thinking about this made Hermione very unhappy. Crookshank, who was in her arms, seemed to sense her emotions and rubbed his furry face against his owner's arm.

Seeing Hermione's little mood, Qin Yu didn't know how to comfort her for a moment, because even he himself felt a little sad about parting.

Then, seeing Crookshanks rubbing against Hermione's arm, Qin Yu felt inexplicably annoyed, grabbed the cat by the scruff of its neck, and dragged it aside.

"Qin, you..."

As Hermione gasped in surprise, Qin Yu moved closer and gently pulled her into his arms.

So, if you don't know how to comfort someone, just give them a hug, as a courtesy.

Hermione's body was initially a little stiff, but after smelling Qin Yu's familiar scent, she gradually relaxed, rubbing her face against his neck, and her previously downcast and resentful mood was soothed.

"Then you have to write at least one, no, two letters a week! You can write shorter ones, but you can't skip writing them just because you're busy!" The little girl made her "demanding" request.

“Okay, I promise I’ll write at least two letters a week. If I can’t, you can send Trig to bring me back,” Qin Yu assured him.

“How can Trigger possibly manage you?!” Hermione exclaimed, her eyes wide.

“He has many brothers and sisters who can help him,” Qin Yu said seriously.

"Then you might get thrown off the sky by them at any moment, haha." Hermione couldn't help but laugh as she imagined several owls carrying Qin Yu through the air.

The girl's low mood came quickly and went quickly.

After receiving Qin Yu's assurance, and especially after that hug, Hermione felt much better.

She then hurried upstairs and helped Qin Yu pack his luggage.

Qin Yu felt a warmth in his heart as he watched Hermione kneeling by the bed, awkwardly but meticulously folding his clothes.

He was quite moved to receive the treatment of having his clothes personally adjusted by the future Minister of Magic.

"Qin, you should also pack your things quickly. See what you need to bring and what you don't need to bring," Hermione said solemnly when she saw Qin Yu standing there dumbfounded.

"I want to take you with me," Qin Yu said casually as he packed his things.

"Really?" Hermione's eyes lit up, revealing an expectant look.

Okay, this girl is being silly.

"Heh, unless you turn into an owl, or a cat," Qin Yu said irritably.

"Then I'll transform now... I'm already a cat... Meow~"

As Hermione said this, she climbed onto Qin Yu's bed and disguised herself as a kitten.

Qin Yu then reached out and stroked her head, playing along with her performance.

Of course, Hermione's acting skills were only good enough to fool Qin Yu; she was far from being a real kitten, so naturally, she couldn't actually be taken to Hogwarts by Qin Yu.

The only effect she caused was that she messed up the clothes that had just been folded.

So, after playing around for a while, Hermione continued to squat by the bed and help Qin Yu fold his clothes again.

……

The next day, Qin Yu ate breakfast early, packed his luggage, and prepared to leave.

The Grangers originally intended to take Qin Yu to the train station, but Qin Yu felt he could manage on his own and didn't want to interfere with their work, so he politely declined their offer.

Then, he said goodbye to the Grangers at the door.

"Crooked Hill, goodbye to Uncle!" Hermione, holding the little yellow cat in her arms, grabbed one of its paws and waved goodbye to Qin Yu.

Hermione's behavior surprised the Grangers, who had expected their daughter to cry again. Instead, she was so calm and even acted so mischievously.

Little did they know, Hermione had already been upset the day before and had been comforted. Although she was reluctant to part with it, she wasn't too caught up in it.

The little girl is becoming stronger little by little.

……

Qin Yu left Granger's house, took the bus and subway, and eventually arrived at King's Cross Station. At stop 9¾, he boarded the Hogwarts Express.

Then, he took the train again and returned to the magical school.

The holiday is over, and the new semester is about to begin.

First, regarding the issue of using magic outside of school, for the sake of the plot, let's stick to the explanation at the beginning of this chapter for now.

Then, the new semester won't be covered in too much detail; time will pass quickly.
