Reborn Fairy Wife Takes Me on a Gaggle-Fire rampage

Chapter 78 Rescuing People from Danger

Today, a group of debt collectors appeared at the door of our shared apartment. They barged in aggressively, refusing to give us a chance to speak. I saw them violently smash our furniture and destroy items in the room. They seemed to be looking for anything they could sell to pay off their debts. I was terrified and tried to escape the chaotic scene.

However, just as I was rushing towards the door, a debt collector noticed me. He started chasing me, and I ran for my life, with only one thought in my mind—to escape this terrifying place. In my panic, I tripped and fell, landing right on a pile of broken glass bottles.

"Should I call the police for you? What are your plans?" Wen Shu asked with concern, her eyes filled with worry and sympathy.

“I’m moving out of that house. I have some savings now, and I’ll help my cousin with some of it. We can’t live together anymore,” she answered firmly, her eyes shining with determination. She had had enough of that argumentative and unsettling environment. Every time she went home, it felt like stepping into a silent battlefield, the air thick with tension and hostility.

She began to recall those unpleasant nights; her cousin's screams and the sounds of things being smashed always terrified her. She remembered one time when her cousin's boyfriend came home drunk in the middle of the night, and the two started another fierce argument. She hid in her room, clutching her pillow tightly, listening to the noise outside, her heart filled with fear and helplessness.

She knew she couldn't continue living like this. She started secretly saving money, keeping a portion of her salary each time she received it. She planned to move out once she had saved enough, find a quiet place, and start a new life.

She had also considered helping her cousin, after all, they had once been so close. Her cousin had also been a gentle and kind girl, but she had been crushed by unfortunate love and the pressures of life. She thought that if her cousin was willing to change, perhaps they could start over. But the condition was that they could no longer live together, otherwise the oppressive atmosphere would suffocate her.

Ahua asked again, "How much did you pay for bringing me to the hospital? I'll transfer it to you, Wenshu." Her words betrayed a hint of anxiety, clearly worried about incurring a debt of gratitude she might not be able to repay. Hearing this, Wenshu felt a surge of emotion, but at the same time, she began to think about how she could better help her friend.

Wen Shu's eyes darted around as she thought for a moment. "Ahua," she said, "I'm planning to open a restoration studio specializing in antiques and artworks. You know I have some experience. I need someone as talented as you to join my team. Consider it a favor, why don't you come work for me? Would you like to consider it?" Wen Shu's tone was full of sincerity and expectation. She knew Ahua had expertise in art restoration, and with her help, the future of the restoration studio would be much brighter.

Ahua looked slightly surprised upon hearing this. She hadn't expected Wen Shu to make such a suggestion, but upon reflection, it did seem like a good opportunity. Her current salary at the museum was still at an apprentice level, and promotions were difficult. She was indeed facing financial difficulties, so moving elsewhere wasn't out of the question. Wen Shu was undoubtedly very capable, and she was sure she could learn a great deal from him. Ahua readily agreed to Wen Shu's proposal.

Wen Shu was overjoyed to hear Ahua's reply.

"You must take good care of yourself. If there's anything inconvenient, remember to communicate with the caregiver promptly. Ah Hua, I'm going back now." Wen Shu gently instructed, her eyes filled with concern.

"Okay, thank you, Wen Shu." Ahua replied gratefully, her voice tinged with weariness.

Mu Chen followed Wen Shu out of the ward. As they walked down the hospital corridor, Mu Chen couldn't help but tease Wen Chu, "Ms. Wen, are you starting to poach employees from your own company?"

Wen Shu smiled gently and shook her head in denial: "No, no, no, I was just saving someone from danger."

As the two stepped out of the emergency room, they saw snowflakes falling as lightly as feathers, blanketing the entire city. Wen Shu stretched out her warm palm, and a snowflake gently landed on it, as if finding a brief respite in her hand. However, the beauty of the snowflake was so fleeting; it quickly melted under Wen Shu's body heat, turning into a glistening droplet of water. The two drove back to the manor, and through the car window, looking at the snow-covered landscape, a warm memory welled up in Wen Shu's heart.

She recalled her days on Jinxiu Island, a place filled with sunshine and sea breezes, where life was simple and peaceful. Wen Shu had spent many wonderful times there, developing deep bonds with the island's inhabitants and animals. She especially missed the kittens, who always circled her legs, warming her heart with their gentleness and dependence. She wondered if a new litter of kittens had settled there, continuing their carefree lives.

Wen Shu gently brushed the snowflakes off her body, causing them to flutter and fall. She entered the manor, walked through the long corridor decorated like a fairytale world with snow, and returned to her room. She decided to first take a hot bath, letting the warm water wash away the day's fatigue and cold. In the bathroom, she slowly immersed herself in the steaming water, closed her eyes, and let the warmth of the water penetrate every cell, as if even her soul was being cleansed. After the bath, she felt much more relaxed, as if all her worries and sorrows had been carried away by the warm water.

After her bath, she stood by the window, gently waving her fingers as if weaving magic in the air. With her movement, a giant snowman slowly appeared on the manor's lawn. Its body was round and sturdy, its head wore an old-fashioned top hat, and its eyes, inlaid with black pebbles, looked exceptionally bright. The snowman's nose was a carrot, and its mouth was made of two slices of red apple, making it look both comical and adorable.

She looked at her masterpiece with satisfaction, then turned her gaze to the other side of the manor. There, a snow-covered swing hung quietly between two old oak trees. She continued to move her fingers, as if conducting a silent symphony. With her movements, two little snowmen appeared on the swing's seat, small and delicate, each wearing a tiny hat and a brightly colored scarf.

The two little snowmen seemed to be playing with each other, one gently pushing the other, causing the swing to sway slowly. As the swing swayed, their scarves fluttered in the air, adding a touch of warmth to the cold winter day. The rest of the manor was also brought to life by her magic; the treetops were covered with glistening ice crystals, and the paths were carpeted with pure white snowflakes, making the entire manor resemble a fairytale world.

She smiled, enjoying all that she had created. She knew that she could use her magic to make the manor even more beautiful whenever she wanted. At this moment, however, she simply stood quietly by the window, admiring her work.
