Reborn Fairy Wife Takes Me on a Gaggle-Fire rampage
Chapter 63 Aren't you afraid of accidentally stabbing him to death?
Wen Shu repeatedly assured Mu Chen that she would never make the same mistake again. Mu Chen was filled with curiosity; he especially wanted to know where Wen Shu had learned her amazing skills. So, he couldn't help but ask.
Wen Shu smiled and took a book out of her bosom, handing it to Mu Chen. The book's cover was yellowed and wrinkled, clearly showing signs of age and seemingly concealing a long history. Mu Chen took the book and examined it carefully. He noticed several ancient characters on the cover; although somewhat blurred, he could still make out the words "Martial Arts Manual."
Mu Chen opened the book, and its contents astonished him. The pages were filled not only with detailed illustrations but also densely packed text explanations. He couldn't help but wonder if such a thing could truly be learned independently. He had never heard of anyone mastering such advanced martial arts skills from just one book. Mu Chen's curiosity grew stronger, and he began to read the book carefully, attempting to understand these profound martial arts principles.
Seeing Mu Chen's focused expression, Wen Shu smiled and explained, "I found this manual by chance at an old bookstall. I was attracted by its cover, but I never expected it to contain such profound martial arts knowledge. At first, I doubted whether I could really learn it on my own, but after a period of exploration and practice, I found that as long as I study it diligently, I can gradually master many seemingly complicated moves and theories."
Wen Shu continued his confident deception. Although Mu Chen was skeptical, he didn't want to delve any further and ultimately chose to believe Wen Shu. He handed the book back to Wen Shu and asked with a hint of doubt, "Aren't you afraid you'll accidentally stab him to death?"
Wen Shu gently shook her head, her tone revealing a hint of relief: "Don't worry, it's nothing serious. It's just a superficial injury. He actually fainted from fright." Mu Chen frowned, clearly not entirely satisfied with this explanation. He continued to press, "How do you know?"
Wen Shu smiled slightly and explained, "The spot I stabbed looked like the neck, but it wasn't actually there. I knew exactly how much force I used; I didn't want to spend my life in jail at such a young age. He would have woken up a little later." Mu Chen admired Wen Shu's skill and courage, but he couldn't help asking curiously, "Where did you learn this skill? Could you teach me?"
Looking at Mu Chen's inquisitive eyes, Wen Shu smiled and said, "Now is fine too." She began to explain his techniques and skills to Mu Chen in detail, from how to judge the force of the strike to how to choose the location to stab, explaining every detail clearly.
Wen Shu deftly took a beautiful silver hairpin from her exquisite jewelry box, the hairpin shimmering softly in the sunlight. She turned and gestured for Mu Chen to follow her downstairs. Together they walked through the elegantly decorated corridor to the spacious kitchen. Wen Shu opened the refrigerator door and selected several fresh, plump apples, each one red and tempting, as if autumn fruits had been carefully preserved until now.
She led Mu Chen out of the kitchen and into the sunny backyard. The yard was lush and green, dotted with a few wildflowers, giving it a vibrant feel. Wen Shu had the servants quickly set up a lightweight wooden table on the grass, covered with a clean white tablecloth, making it look exceptionally tidy.
Wen Shu placed the apples one by one on the table, then stood in front of Mu Chen and began to demonstrate her skill. She closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and slowly raised her hand, gripping the silver hairpin tightly. Under Mu Chen's curious and expectant gaze, Wen Shu's arm suddenly trembled, and the hairpin shot out like a streak of silver light, accurately piercing one of the apples placed in the center of the table.
Mu Chen's eyes widened in astonishment; he had never seen such precise skill. Wen Shu smiled, picked up another apple, and repeated the same action. The hairpin struck its target accurately once more, piercing the apple. She easily pulled the hairpin out, leaving a clean, neat hole in the apple.
The servants, watching from the sidelines, were also captivated by Wen Shu's skill. She gracefully explained to Mu Chen, "This is not merely a display of strength, but also a precise grasp of timing and balance." Mu Chen nodded in understanding, filled with respect for Wen Shu's skill and her magical silver hairpin.
Mu Chen's intelligence was on full display at this moment; his keen insight allowed him to quickly grasp the techniques Wen Shu had taught him. However, despite his quick understanding, he encountered difficulties in practice. Each attempt left his apple riddled with holes, as if it had undergone a fierce battle. Seeing Mu Chen's slightly frustrated expression, Wen Shu understood that this wasn't just a matter of technique, but also a test of his mindset.
Therefore, Wen Shu decided to teach Mu Chen a more profound method of cultivation. He took an old Heart Sutra from the bookshelf and handed it to Mu Chen. The book's cover was yellowed and the edges were worn, clearly having withstood the test of time. Wen Shu told Mu Chen that this Heart Sutra contained the wisdom of tranquility, and that he needed to calm his mind and slowly comprehend its mysteries.
Mu Chen took the Heart Sutra and felt its weighty sense of history. He carefully turned the pages and saw dense text, each word seemingly containing endless philosophy.
Just then, Mu Chen's phone rang. He picked it up, and the screen displayed his secretary's name. The secretary's voice was urgent as he answered, "The man has woken up, but Madam's sister is still in critical condition." Upon hearing this, Mu Chen frowned, but calmly replied, "Keep an eye on it." He then hung up and turned his gaze back to the window, seemingly deep in thought.
The secretary sat at her desk, phone in hand, her mind racing. She never dreamed she'd end up getting involved in such a scandalous affair with her boss's wife.
Mu Chen returned to the living room, still clutching the Heart Sutra tightly in his hand. He slowly walked towards the study, his heart filled with a thirst for knowledge. He decided to study the book in depth, hoping to gain more wisdom from it.
Mu Chen had always known that Wen Shu enjoyed immersing herself in those strange and unusual books. He had initially thought it was just a form of entertainment for her, perhaps simply out of curiosity, but he had never truly believed that these books had any practical use. Mu Chen began to realize that he had really underestimated Wen Shu.
Mu Chen sat at his desk, holding a copy of the Heart Sutra that Wen Shu had given him, and began to read it carefully. He wanted to understand Wen Shu more deeply; there were so many things about her that he didn't know.
Mu Chen discovered that Wen Shu's reading covered a wide range of fields, from ancient philosophy to modern technology, from psychology to cosmology. She seemed to have a deep interest in every topic and was able to integrate knowledge from different fields to form her own unique perspective.
