Reborn Fairy Wife Takes Me on a Gaggle-Fire rampage
Chapter 62 was resolved at the police station.
Wen Shu was thinking to herself that she was a little tired in the morning, so she might as well go back to the manor to rest in the afternoon. The air in the manor was fresh and the environment was peaceful. She could also learn to cook from Aunt Hu, the manor's old chef, whose skills were superb. Wen Shu had always admired her cooking skills. She imagined herself learning how to make those delicious dishes under Aunt Hu's guidance, and her heart was filled with anticipation.
Wen Shu told Mu Chen about her plan to return to the manor. Wen Shu smiled, she couldn't wait to start her leisurely afternoon.
Mu Chen looked at him with doting eyes, "Okay, you can go back in a bit."
The secretary knocked on the door and waited outside.
Come in.
"President Mu, the meeting room is ready and everyone is here. We can begin the meeting."
"Okay, I'll go there now."
Wen Shu, intending to head home, said goodbye to Mu Chen and strolled cheerfully to the garage. As she started the car, she noticed a couple arguing in the rearview mirror. Upon closer inspection, she recognized Wen Chu. Instinctively, she wanted to speed away, but seeing Wen Chu knocked to the ground by the man, she couldn't help but brake suddenly, quickly reverse, and then slam on the gas. The speed at which she reversed stunned the man. Wen Shu brought the car to a stop and helped the struggling Wen Chu up from the ground. However, the man wasn't finished; his gaze lingered on Wen Shu, his greed growing stronger.
"What right do you have to interfere in our affairs?"
Wen Shu's face was filled with worry, her eyes fixed on Wen Chushang, her heart pounding with anxiety. She didn't want to say another word at this moment, because she knew that every second of delay could adversely affect Wen Chushang's injuries. Wen Chushang's injuries looked quite serious; her face was pale, her forehead was covered in cold sweat, and her breathing was somewhat rapid. Wen Shu knew that the most important thing now was to get her back to the hospital as soon as possible for professional treatment and care.
She quickly checked Wen Chushang's injuries and found a deep wound on her arm that was still bleeding. Wen Shu's heart tightened; she knew that if such a wound wasn't treated promptly, it could lead to infection or even more serious consequences. She gently helped Wen Chushang up, trying to avoid touching her wound, and then carefully helped her to the door.
He gripped Wen Shu's hand tightly, making her feel nauseous, as if bound by an invisible force, unable to break free. Her heart raced, and a strong sense of disgust surged within her. In an unbearable moment, she mustered her courage and slapped him across the face. The slap was crisp and loud, carrying all her anger and disgust.
Enraged by the sudden slap, his expression shifted from surprise to fury. He forcefully pulled at Wen Shu, attempting to subdue her resistance with brute force. His movements were rough and reckless, as if he wanted to firmly control her in his grasp.
In that tense moment, Wen Shu reacted swiftly and decisively. Without hesitation, she pulled an exquisite hairpin from her hair bun. This hairpin, originally used to hold her flowing long hair in place, had become her weapon in that instant. This hairpin was not only elegantly designed but also made of sturdy material; it was a silver hairpin she had forged herself.
The burly man clearly hadn't anticipated Wen Shu's actions; he had thought he had the situation completely under control. However, Wen Shu's movements took everyone by surprise. With an almost imperceptible speed, she removed the hairpin from her head and then, with practiced skill, swiftly used it like a dagger.
She gripped the hairpin tightly, aiming at the burly man's neck, one of the most vulnerable parts of the human body. Before he could react, Wen Shu plunged the hairpin into his neck. The man let out a painful groan, and blood gushed from the wound, staining the surrounding air red.
Wen Shu sped off like a bolt of lightning.
The burly man was so shocked that he fainted on the spot. This scene was noticed by the security guard on the surveillance camera, and he immediately dialed the emergency number and the police.
Wen Shu took Wen Chu to the hospital, where doctors quickly arranged a series of thorough examinations. The condition was not optimistic; Wen Chu had fallen into a coma. Wen Shu immediately called the Wen family, and Wen's parents rushed to the hospital upon hearing the news. Soon after, Wen Shu was also taken away by the arriving police for further investigation.
Sitting in the police station's interrogation room, Wen Shu calmly recounted the entire incident to the officers. Her voice didn't tremble at all, and every detail was described clearly, as if she were telling a story unrelated to herself. The police retrieved the surveillance footage from the scene, which showed exactly what Wen Shu had described: a burly man suddenly attacked her, and Wen Shu retaliated in self-defense, causing the man to fall to the ground unconscious.
Because the burly man was still receiving treatment at the hospital and remained unconscious, Wen Shu was temporarily unable to leave the police station. She was fully aware of the force she had used, and knew it might take some time for him to wake up, so she simply waited quietly. The news spread like wildfire from the security room, quickly reaching Mu Chen's ears. He was extremely anxious upon hearing the news and immediately called Wen Shu to ask if she was injured.
Wen Shu calmly replied on the other end of the phone, "I'm fine, everything's alright." Mu Chen was very surprised to hear Wen Shu's calm answer. He rushed to the police station while dialing the chief's number. As soon as the chief saw that it was Mu Chen calling, he didn't even finish his drink; he immediately dropped everything and rushed back to the police station.
When Mu Chen finally saw Wen Shu, he finally understood the meaning of "the emperor isn't worried, but the eunuch is." Mu Chen's face was filled with worry and anxiety, while Wen Shu appeared unusually calm. The bureau chief also rushed over, and although he still smelled slightly of alcohol, his attitude was very serious. The bureau chief instructed Mu Chen to take Wen Shu home first to ensure her safety and rest.
Mu Chen carefully reviewed the surveillance footage, his heart filled with worry. He feared Wen Shu might be frightened and taken away by the police again, and he was extremely anxious. However, Wen Shu remained unusually calm and composed. Mu Chen accompanied Wen Shu back home. In the cozy bedroom, he told Wen Shu to contact him first if anything happened in the future. He was so close, yet he could only learn about her through gossip, which deepened his worries. Wen Shu said, "Weren't you in a meeting? I didn't want to bother you, thinking I could handle it myself. I didn't expect to end up at the police station. It's a little embarrassing to think about."
