Reborn Fairy Wife Takes Me on a Gaggle-Fire rampage

Chapter 2 Doesn't Seem Like a Good Person

Inside the door, Su Yunzhong pondered to herself, "It's getting late. Who could be coming uninvited at this hour?" Feeling uneasy, she decided to turn on the camera monitoring function on her phone to carefully check who was outside the door.

He appeared to be a man, not a good person. She slowly rose from the quaint rocking chair, wearing a pair of hand-woven slippers with a distinctive ethnic style. With each step she took, the small bells adorning her slippers swayed gently, producing a series of clear and melodious tinkling sounds, like heavenly music, so beautiful it was intoxicating.

Just then, the person sitting in the car parked outside also walked to the door and gently knocked. As she slowly approached, she called out in a light voice, "Coming, coming." Pretending to be nonchalant, she peeked through the crack in the door with her large, round eyes, secretly observing him. He was also watching her quietly, a hint of expectation in his eyes. She smiled and told him firmly, "This isn't a guesthouse; this is her own home. We don't offer accommodation. Sir, you'd better look for somewhere else."

Mu Chen stood at the entrance of Fuyao Residence. In the darkness, he heard her voice—it was Wen Shu. She didn't seem to recognize him. A sense of doubt welled up inside him. Did she really not remember him? He looked up, his gaze piercing the night, trying to catch a glimpse of her in the darkness. After a moment's thought, he finally spoke, "I'm your new neighbor. My house is right next door. I've come to deliver a gift." He then took a carefully wrapped gift box from his pocket. He cautiously opened the box, revealing an exquisite purple jade bracelet inside. The bracelet gleamed softly in the dim light. He had personally selected this jade bracelet from an old craftsman; it was said that this kind of purple jade bracelet could bring good luck and happiness. He hoped this gift would bring Wen Shu a touch of warmth and comfort.

Su Yun's voice rang out again, tinged with weariness and refusal: "It's too late now, let's talk about it tomorrow." Her voice came through the crack in the door, sounding somewhat distant. Mu Chen could sense her hesitation and unease; he understood the discomfort that such a sudden visit at night could cause. He sighed softly, closed the gift box again, and placed it at Su Yun's door. He didn't speak again, but turned and slowly walked back to his car, sending his assistant an address, saying he wanted to buy the house next to Fuyao Residence.

The assistant acted as if receiving a royal decree, quickly contacting the landlord. The contract was signed the following morning, and they began moving things into the house one after another. Mu Chen's assistants were swift and efficient; they not only brought furniture and daily necessities but also carefully selected some artworks and decorations.

As Su Yun watched her neighbors move, a flurry of activity unfolded before her, and a ripple of emotion stirred within her. This family moved so quickly. The next morning, Su Yun got out of bed and changed into a carefully chosen dress. She had recently bought it; the color was elegant, and the style was simple and sophisticated. Standing in front of the mirror, she meticulously applied her makeup, ensuring every detail was perfect. She knew there was an important art exhibition today, and she couldn't be late, as it was an invitation from Ya Ya, a friend she had made since moving here.

When Su Yun first met Ya Ya, she was a vibrant college student whose radiant smile seemed to illuminate the entire world. Their meeting was by chance; Ya Ya was sketching when Su Yun passed by her easel and was deeply captivated by the scene depicted in the painting. It was a painting of Fuyao Residence, where Ya Ya had captured its tranquility and beauty with her delicate brushstrokes. Su Yun then gave the painting to Su Yun. Upon receiving it, Su Yun was filled with gratitude.

Su Yun started her car, a gift from Zao'er. Su Yun had tried to give Zao'er money in exchange, but Zao'er refused, jokingly saying she wanted to "freeload" off Su Yun's house. Su Yun knew Zao'er was joking, but ultimately she accepted the gift. The car was a sports sedan. She started the car, intending to pick up Ya Ya to go to the art exhibition. Ya Ya, the darling daughter of a well-known listed company in T City, had a wide range of interests.

Su Yun gently turned the steering wheel, driving the car slowly to Ya Ya's house. She lightly pressed a button on her phone, and after a brief call, Ya Ya, dressed in a beautiful blue fairy dress, gracefully stepped out of the magnificent villa, lightly jumped into the car, and gently asked, "Sister Yun, what have you been busy with lately?" Su Yun replied casually, "Actually, not too many trivial matters." They smiled at each other. "Sister Yun, I'm planning a trip to N Island soon. Would you like to come along and spend some time with me?" Su Yun thought that Zao'er was also in Japan, and N Island was also in Japan, so it would be perfect to visit Zao'er.

The two arrived at the art exhibition chatting and laughing. Although Su Yun knew very little about these paintings, his eyes were drawn to a lotus painting. He was particularly fond of it and thought that buying it and hanging it in the tea room would surely add a lot of elegance.

After visiting the art gallery, the two had a simple lunch, then strolled to a nearby shop to select the necessities for their trip. Su Yun then took Ya Ya back home.

On her way back to Fuyao Residence, Su Yun happened upon an injured cat covered in black scales. Out of compassion, she drove to a veterinary hospital. After a careful examination, the cat was found to be unharmed, suffering only minor scratches on its leg. After simple bandaging, it was able to return home safely.

As evening fell, the afterglow of the setting sun bathed the earth in a golden veil. Su Yun, carrying the cat, returned to Fuyao Residence.

Stepping into the courtyard, the first thing that caught her eye was a lush green bamboo grove. A gentle breeze rustled the bamboo leaves, as if welcoming her home. Su Yun took a deep breath, savoring the faint fragrance of bamboo in the air, and her mood instantly became much more relaxed.

Passing through the bamboo grove, you'll find a small pond where several goldfish swim freely, occasionally leaping out of the water and creating ripples. Beside the pond, a few lotus flowers stand gracefully, emitting a delicate fragrance that soothes the soul.

Su Yun walked slowly along the stone-paved path towards her room. Although the room was not large, it was decorated with exceptional warmth. Several exquisite landscape paintings hung on the walls, and several ancient books were neatly arranged on the desk, creating a tranquil atmosphere. Su Yun sat by the window, gazing at the sky gradually darkening outside, and an indescribable feeling welled up in her heart.
