President, please comfort me.

Chapter 13 Tang Yue's Birthday

The next day, Wenqi got up very early, unusually, to look for her electric scooter, and went downstairs at eight o'clock.

Xiao He and A-Chen were talking in the living room when they noticed her coming downstairs. Xiao He pretended to be calm, but in reality, he kept an eye on her every move out of the corner of his eye.

To everyone's surprise, Wenqi stopped talking after greeting Achen, clearly not wanting to talk to him.

Ah Chen, however, looked concerned and said, "Xiao Qi, are you alright? Brother Xiao waited for you here for a long time yesterday, but couldn't find you. He was so worried that he asked me to check the surveillance footage. That's how we found out you were hit by a car."

Ah Chen knew perfectly well that Wen Qi was definitely alright, otherwise Xiao He wouldn't be sitting here so calmly. But seeing Xiao He's unhappy expression, he guessed that they had probably had another argument, so he couldn't help but say some nice things for Xiao He.

Sure enough, as soon as he finished speaking, Xiao He gave him a murderous look. Ah Chen swallowed hard and continued fearlessly, "By the way, Brother Xiao has already had someone find your electric scooter. It's in the yard."

After hearing what Achen said, Wenqi looked at Achen somewhat awkwardly: "I'm fine, just a minor scratch."

One thing at a time, she then turned to Xiao and sincerely said, "Thank you."

Xiao He thought to himself, "This time you spoke to me first." He deliberately waited two seconds before looking up at her, his tone cold: "From now on, let Abiao follow you, so that if I can't find him again, I won't have a good way to explain to my parents if something happens."

Wen Qi looked confused, and A Chen explained, "A Biao is my brother. He went abroad on business a while ago and just came back yesterday."

After hearing this, Wen Qi looked at Xiao He and said in an even more indifferent tone, "No need, yesterday was just an accident."

Xiao He glanced at her, his words leaving no room for argument, adopting the air of a superior: "I'm not discussing this with you."

Wen Qi was angered by his tone and immediately retorted, "I don't want to be watched, and my safety doesn't need you to explain it to my uncle and aunt." After saying that, she went upstairs.

Ah Chen had never seen such a situation before. He only knew that if this happened in a company, a large number of leaders would definitely be scolded. His heart was in his throat, and he looked at Xiao He with excitement and fear, waiting for his instructions.

Xiao He rubbed his temples, unusually not getting angry. He lowered his voice and said to A-Chen, "Go and have A-Biao follow them, but don't let her find out."

Ah Chen nodded, trying to keep his presence to a minimum: "Okay."

Wen Qi was furious when she returned to her room. She had planned to go out and buy a car, but now she didn't need to. She wanted to go back to sleep, but she couldn't feel sleepy anymore. Just as she was about to talk to a friend, she saw Tang Yue tap her on WeChat.

Tang Yue: Hi, sister-in-law, are you free next Friday night? Let's have dinner together!

After adding each other on WeChat, the two chatted occasionally. After reading the messages, Wen Qi quickly replied: "I should be free. Is it some special occasion?"

Tang Yue: Hehe, it's my birthday.

Wenqi: Oh, okay. Happy birthday in advance! [Small cake.jpg]

Tang Yue: Thank you! It's a deal then. See you at Quan Yue Xuan next Friday at 7 PM! Just come over with Brother Ahe after get off work. [Cute.jpg]

Wen Qi: Okay, sure.

Wen Qi thought to herself, what a coincidence, next Friday is also her good friend Yang Xu's birthday, it seems she will have to go out and buy two gifts later.

Wen Qi found Yang Xu's name and sent him a message: Ah Xu, when are you coming to the capital?

Yang Xu replied immediately: "Soon, soon. I'll be able to go over in about ten days after I finish the handover here."

Wen Qi: Ten more days? Does that mean I'll have to celebrate my birthday in Xiamen?

Yang Xu: Yes, Lanlan and I will stay in Xiamen first. When I return to the capital, you and Xiao Nuo will make up for it for me.

Wen Qi: Absolutely. [Rubbing hands in anticipation.jpg]

Yang Xu: How is Xinwang and Hehe doing? Are you getting used to it?

Wen Qi: It's just like that, I go to work on time and leave on time, my colleagues are okay.

Yang Xu: Wait for me to join the company and I'll take you flying high.

Wenqi: Okay, then come quickly.

The two chatted for almost half an hour, but Wenqi was so hungry that she got up from the sofa and decided to go out to buy a gift and grab something to eat.

Downstairs, only Aunt Zhang was cleaning. Aunt Zhang called her to have breakfast, but Wen Qi didn't want to eat at home. After saying goodbye, she went to the yard to find her electric scooter. After checking and finding nothing wrong, she felt much better and went out to find something to eat.

Ah Chen was efficient; with just one phone call, he summoned Ah Biao to Chunfengli. Ah Biao was an upright and incorruptible fellow who obeyed Xiao He's every command. Upon seeing Wen Qi leave, he acted as if he had seen prey emerge from its nest, immediately starting his car and slowly following her.

Wen Qi thought of the bracelet Tang Yue had given her, so she picked one out for her too. It had a cute little rabbit shape on it and it matched her perfectly.

I picked out a lighter for Yang Xu because he loves to smoke and is often forgetful, always complaining that he can't find his lighter.

The shop assistant helped me pack both gifts in gift boxes, one pink and one blue.

On the way, Wenqi always felt that someone was following her, but when she looked back, there was nothing there. She was timid and kept twisting the handlebars tightly all the way. She only breathed a sigh of relief when she got back to Chunfengli.

It was Ah Biao's first time driving a four-wheeled vehicle alongside an electric vehicle. He was caught in a dilemma: if he went too fast, he would be discovered; if he went too slow, he would lose track of them. Fortunately, he escaped unharmed in the end.

After Wenqi returned, A Biao and Xiao He reported on her whereabouts that day, including in great detail that Wenqi had bought two gifts, one of which was a lighter in a blue gift box.

After returning home, Wen Qi stayed indoors all day until dinner time when she went downstairs to cook herself a bowl of noodles. After eating, she went back upstairs.

Xiao was busy with work, and apart from Aunt Zhang telling him that Wen Qi hadn't eaten breakfast again, he didn't pay much attention to what was happening in the spring breeze. He spent the whole day holding his breath at the company. He had already said what he wanted to say: eat it or not, it's up to you.

His mood improved when Ah Biao mentioned that Wen Qi had bought a lighter as a gift and had even packed it in a gift box.

He returned to Chunfengli after get off work that evening full of anticipation, but he didn't see Wen Qi on the first floor. He looked around and didn't see the so-called blue gift box lighter on any of the tables.

For a moment, Xiao He was amused by his own behavior and went back to his room sullenly.

-

After their unpleasant parting over the weekend, Wen Qi seemed to be deliberately avoiding him for the next few days. The chances of them running into each other decreased, and even when they did see each other, neither of them took the initiative to speak to the other.

This Friday marked Tang Yue's birthday.

Wen Qi left work promptly at 5:30 and rode her bike to Quan Yue Xuan. It was a half-hour ride, and she arrived quickly.

According to the message sent by Tang Yue, Wen Qi successfully found the private room. She originally thought that a young lady like her would have a grand birthday celebration with many people fawning over her, but when she opened the door, she was surprised to see only Tang Yue, Tang Chao, and a handsome stranger.

Tang Yue was singing when she saw Wen Qi. She immediately put down the microphone and walked over. She winked playfully and said, "Xiao Qi, you're here! Where's Brother Ahe? Isn't he with you?"

Wen Qi handed her the gift and smiled, "He still has some things to do, so I came first. Happy birthday, Xiao Yue."

Tang Yue accepted the gift, affectionately wrapped her arm around Wen Qi's, and whispered to her, "Thank you, sister-in-law."

Then he pulled her toward her seat: "Come on, let me introduce you. This is Ye Lin, an older brother I've known since childhood. He's very close to my brother and Brother Ahe."

Then she looked at Ye Lin and said, "Brother Ye Lin, this is Wen Qi, the child of my aunt's friend, my good friend."

Looking at the smiling man in front of her, with his single-eyelid almond-shaped eyes, thick black eyebrows, upturned nose, and even pink lips, Wen Qi couldn't help but sigh: He's so handsome! He looks like a really nice guy, much better than Xiao He, that annoying guy.

Seeing the handsome guy, Wen Qi was very happy and greeted him with a smile: "Hello."

Ye Lin's eyes suddenly lit up. He thought to himself, "Isn't this the pretty girl from that night?" His lips curved into a roguish smile. "Hello, pretty girl."
