Crossing Over to Yamada Love
Chapter 252 Cui Shi Takes Poison
As Wang led the group to the door, they heard shouts coming from inside. There were curses from the eldest son and cries from Cui Shi. It was a distressing sight. The group shook their heads, ignored it, and continued walking towards the door.
She had only walked about two meters out of the gate when Mo Lan heard a shout behind her. She turned around and saw Li Shi chasing after her. What's wrong now?
"Grandma, Auntie, quick, quick! My mother-in-law has drunk rat poison! Come quick!" Li Shi ran over, panting, her face deathly pale, clearly terrified.
"What?" Wang's eyes widened. They had just heard Cui's loud voice when they left. How could she have drunk rat poison in the blink of an eye?
"Quickly, let's go take a look." After saying that, Wang led the people behind her back and hurriedly walked back.
Mo Lan was stunned when she heard Li's words. Then she took off and ran ahead. Although Cui was lazy and vicious and disgusting, she had not done anything that was universally hated. Her crime did not warrant death. Why did she do it?
Mo Lan was the first to run inside. Once inside, she saw Da Lang standing there, looking bewildered. Mo Changhe was also standing there, staring wide-eyed. Cui Shi was standing there, leaning on the table, her body trembling. She was cursing, "You little brat, you want me dead? You think I'm shameful? Then I'll die! I won't shame you. I'll be to your liking. I won't annoy you."
"You, you'd be better off dead." Dalang was a little scared, but he remained defiant. He felt that Cui was just bluffing him, using this tactic to threaten him.
"Third brother's wife, you'd better go and throw up quickly, this is no joke if it goes on for too long," Mo Jin advised from the kang (heated brick bed).
"You old codger, why are you meddling in other people's business? Just mind your own business." Cui glared at Mo Jin, trying to provoke him.
Mo Jin opened his mouth but stopped speaking, giving Mo Changhe a wink, signaling him to try and persuade him.
"Sister-in-law, you, you need to vomit it up! This is no joke, you good-for-nothing, what are you standing there for? Hurry up and go fetch your Grandpa Chen, he hasn't gone far yet. Hurry up and go!" Mo Changhe first made Cui Shi vomit, and seeing that Da Lang didn't move, he went up and hit Da Lang on the head to make him hurry up.
Dalang glared at Mo Changhe, wanting to curse but holding back, and shouted with his neck stiff, "I'm not going, she ate it herself. She insisted on finding another man and even threatened me with death. I'm not afraid. If she dies, I can just bury her with my father and see how she finds another man."
"You damn bastard. Damn it. Look at this mess." Mo Changhe cursed angrily, then walked towards the door.
He had just reached the door when Mo Lan ran over, panting, and asked, "Dad, did you really eat it?"
"Lan'er, she really ate it. You watch over here. I'm going to fetch your Grandpa Chen," Mo Changhe instructed Mo Lan, then hurriedly headed out.
"Don't go, it'll be too late now." Mo Lan knew that Cui Shi had really eaten, and she became anxious. Her mind raced, trying to think of a solution.
"Father, go to the latrine and get some urine." Mo Lan asked Mo Changhe to get some urine. He needed to induce vomiting quickly, otherwise the medicine would enter his internal organs and he would be doomed.
"Why would you pee?" Mo Changhe stared wide-eyed, puzzled. He didn't understand what his daughter meant.
"Force it down her throat and make her vomit it out," Mo Lan explained.
"Okay." Mo Changhe thought his daughter was right and hurried off.
"You wretched girl, you want me to drink your piss? No way! I'll curse your ancestors for eight generations! You worthless girl no man wants, you're a bastard! You were born from your mother's affair! You'll die a horrible death!" As soon as Cui heard that Mo Lan was going to force-feed her piss, she immediately started cursing.
Mo Lan wasn't angry. She knew what kind of person Cui was. She stood in front of Cui, looked at her, and said calmly, "Go ahead and curse. You still have plenty of energy. Let's see if you can still curse in a quarter of an hour. You have a quarter of an hour to curse, so curse as much as you can, curse as harshly as you can, or you won't be able to curse anymore and you'll be heading to the underworld. It's not worth it if you don't curse as much as you can. Or do you want to curse the King of Hell?"
"I... I'm not afraid. I'll just curse you. What can you do about it?" Cui said, but she was actually a little scared. At first, she was angry because her eldest son's words were too hurtful. She wanted to scare him, and she also felt that if she couldn't get married, there was no point in living. In a moment of impulse, she took out the rat poison she had bought last time and swallowed it.
But now, hearing Mo Lan's words, and knowing she only had fifteen minutes left, she panicked. Suddenly, she felt she didn't want to die anymore. She felt terrible, her chest tightened, and her heart pounded. Help her! Someone help her! She really didn't want to die.
At this moment, Wang and the others arrived. When they saw Cui, Cui's face changed color, which startled Wang.
"Mother, hurry up and boil some croton oil. Give it to Third Aunt in a bit; it'll help detoxify her," Mo Lan instructed Qiu Shi.
"Yes, I'll go right away." Qiu replied and hurried downstairs. At this moment, lives were at stake, and any grudges had to be put aside; saving lives was the priority.
"Make way, I'm back." At that moment, Mo Changhe came in carrying a basin. Everyone immediately smelled a sour, foul odor.
"Quick, make her drink it." Mo Lan covered her nose and pointed at Cui Shi.
"I won't drink it, I'd rather die than drink it. I won't let you treat me like this." Cui pinched her nose and shut her mouth tightly, preventing Mo Changhe from getting closer.
"Go up there and force-feed her." Mo Lan sternly ordered, and since Cui Shi was uncooperative, she had no choice but to force-feed her. Otherwise, the longer it dragged on, the worse it would be for her.
Liu and Li dared not delay. They stepped forward and each grabbed one of Cui's arms, pressing her firmly onto the stool. Wang pinched Cui's mouth shut, and Mo Changhe scooped some urine into a bowl and poured it into Cui's mouth.
Cui's upper body was pinned down, and Wang pinched her mouth shut, but the urine smelled so bad that she kept her mouth tightly shut and refused to open it, while her legs kept kicking wildly, refusing to drink it no matter what.
Seeing how fiercely her father struggled, even spilling urine in his bowl, she still couldn't get it down. Enraged, Mo Lan stepped forward and slapped Cui Shi twice across the face, saying viciously, "Are you going to drink or die? You should know that if you die, you'll have nothing left, no good life, and it'll be hard for you to live again. If you waste time, even a god can't save you. If you really want to die, none of us will care anymore. With your attitude, we'd rather you died so we wouldn't have to suffer. You think we want to save you? Bah, Da Lang is right, you might as well just die."
Startled by Mo Lan's words, Cui was shocked. Yes, it's truly difficult to come back to life after death. Did she really want to die? No! She didn't.
"That wretched girl wishes I were dead, but I won't let her have her way. I'm not going to die. I haven't lived enough yet. You die, but I won't die." Cui cursed Mo Lan, but her eyes were fixed on the bowl in Mo Changhe's hand. Could this thing really save her? Could it be that the girl was humiliating her?
“Drink it if you don’t want to die. Drink it yourself, no one will serve you. If you don’t drink it in ten more breaths, you’re beyond saving. You won’t be able to drink it even if you want to. Do what you think is best.” Mo Lan winked at the others, signaling them to release Cui Shi and let her do it herself.
Looking at the bowl on the table, Cui was torn between two conflicting thoughts. The girl said there were still ten breaths left—was that true? Should she believe her? After all, she had cured that sickly Mo Changhai; she should have some skill. Should she drink it or not? Suddenly, Cui felt a little dizzy. Without thinking further, she quickly grabbed the bowl from the table and gulped it down.
It tastes awful, it's disgusting. Cui swallowed a few mouthfuls with all her might, then pushed everyone away and vomited violently.
After she vomited for a while, Mo Lan gave the others a look, and they started forcing her to urinate again. This was repeated several times until Cui was almost exhausted from vomiting. Actually, Mo Lan didn't know how many times she would have to vomit to get all the medicine out, since she had never experienced this before. However, she figured the last two times were unnecessary and just a bit too much for Cui.
After Cui could no longer vomit, Qiu's croton water was ready, and Mo Lan had everyone force-feed Cui two more bowls. Vomiting was to expel the medicine from her stomach, and the croton water was to purge the contents of her intestines. It was thought that after doing this, Cui would be out of danger.
Not long after, Cui felt her stomach growling. She needed to go to the toilet, but she didn't have the strength to walk there. Qiu and Liu quickly helped her to the toilet, one on each side.
Cui went back and forth several times, her face pale, her forehead covered in cold sweat, and she had no strength left to move.
Doctor Chen also arrived, took her pulse, and confirmed that Cui was alright, but the ordeal had taken a toll on her health, leaving her extremely weak. She would need to rest for several days.
Hearing what Dr. Chen said, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. Their efforts hadn't been in vain; no matter what, the person had been saved.
At this moment, Cui was lying on the kang (a heated brick bed), not moving at all, just humming softly. It was impossible to understand what she was humming, but it seemed that she was in great discomfort from being tormented.
"Mother, would you like something to eat? Your daughter-in-law will make it for you." Li wanted to appear virtuous in front of everyone, so she went to the kang (a heated brick bed) and asked Cui.
Upon hearing about food, Cui immediately turned over and lay face down on the kang (heated brick bed) and began to gag again. She rinsed her mouth several times, but it still smelled terrible. Was this daughter-in-law trying to harm her by offering her food?
Cui gagged for a while, but she couldn't vomit anything; her intestines were already empty.
"You heartless, rotten woman, haven't you tormented me enough? You want to humiliate me even more? You're up to no good. Why don't you just die?" Cui muttered weakly.
Seeing that her attempt at being virtuous had backfired and she had only caused trouble, Li glared at her mother-in-law and got up to leave.
The group exchanged glances and sighed. Now there was another person to take care of. Just as they were about to assign tasks and decide who would stay behind to keep watch, a sound came from inside the courtyard.
