Rebirth and Rewriting Fate

Yun Chu closed her eyes, clearing her mind of all distractions, and recounted the events at the forbidden area in the back mountain. When she mentioned the contraceptive soup, Gu Ruoxiao's eyes flickered; he recalled the day he had asked his uncle about it alone.

"Uncle, what about the other poison in her body?"

“I mean another one,” Gu Ruoxiao emphasized again.

"I can't watch Shen Yuezhen get into trouble," Yun Chu said.

"Don't worry, Chiwu and his men will go into the mountains tonight to investigate," Gu Ruoxiao said.

Yun Chu nodded. "We'll see how things go tomorrow."

The night was deep, and the cicadas outside the window were gradually fading out.

Yun Chu moved a quilt from the bed to the bamboo couch, and Gu Ruoxiao watched her actions without saying a word.

"I'll sleep on the couch tonight, and you'll sleep on the bed. Please make do," Yun Chu said.

"You..." Gu Ruoxiao, sitting on the bed, hesitated, unable to speak.

“My young lady isn’t stupid.” Mo Han rolled her eyes.

"But can't I just force myself on you?!" The next second, he was kicked down from the tree by two attackers, the two on the tree even giving each other a high-five in perfect unison. His broken voice came from below, "I haven't finished yet! What I meant was, I should just explain things to Miss Yun Chu directly!"

It must have been around 3 AM when a cat's meow came from outside the window. Gu Ruoxiao got out of bed and walked towards the window in the dark.

Yun Chu, who hadn't been sleeping well, was awakened by this disturbance. Seeing Gu Ruoxiao, she quickly called out, "Gu Ruoxiao?"

The window was slightly ajar, and soft moonlight fell on Gu Ruoxiao. Soft voices could be heard from the window, and then the window was quickly closed.

Gu Ruoxiao walked to the bamboo couch and squatted down. Yun Chu slightly stood up. In the darkness, they could not see each other, only their blurry figures.

Gu Ruoxiao said in a low voice, "Chiwu and the others have discovered that the forbidden area in the back mountain is heavily guarded and difficult to enter. They just scouted out the guards, security, and terrain tonight, and will have to conduct a more in-depth investigation tomorrow night. I'm afraid we won't be able to leave here tomorrow, so we need to think of a way to stay."

Yun Chu nodded, then, realizing that Gu Ruoxiao couldn't see her in the darkness, quickly said, "Okay."

The next day, Yun Chu was awakened by Mo Han's voice outside, "My master and mistress haven't gotten up yet, please keep your voices down."
