How exactly did Xu Hao escape?

It's a return scroll, of course!

Treating Qingshan Village as a beginner's village, Xu Hao used a return scroll and returned there at the critical moment.

But how can I explain this to Brother Shi?

After much deliberation, Xu Hao decided to tell Shi Shaowei about the existence of the random teleportation scroll and the return scroll. He had also keenly sensed that these two items were crucial to the Bureau of Mysteries. If used properly, they could save many lives.

Xu Hao took a deep breath. "Brother Shi, there's something I haven't had a chance to tell you yet." Xu Hao said, "It's actually something I recently awakened a new ability."

Shi Shaowei remained silent, observing Xu Hao with interest.

This kid awakens a new ability every few days. What is it this time? It can't be teleportation, can it?

Xu Hao slowly took out two scrolls that glowed faintly from his pocket and carefully unfurled them. The scrolls were engraved with intricate runes, which shimmered with a mysterious luster in the sunlight.

“Brother Shi, these are new items that I recently improved upon in talisman crafting,” Xu Hao said softly, his fingers lightly tracing the surface of the scrolls. “The one on the left is a random teleportation scroll, and the one on the right is a return scroll.”

He first picked up the random teleportation scroll and showed it to Shi Shaowei: "When using this scroll, you only need to tear it open to teleport the user to a random location within a hundred miles. Although the destination is uncertain, it can help you escape danger quickly in an emergency."

Then, Xu Hao picked up the Return Scroll: "This one is even more special. It can safely send the user back to the town or village they last visited. For example, if I start from Qingshan Village, no matter how far I go, as long as I don't go to other towns or villages, activating this scroll will allow me to return to Qingshan Village immediately. The method of use is the same as the random scroll, just tear it open."

Xu Hao paused for a moment: "Just now, in that critical moment, it was thanks to this return scroll that I was able to escape at the last second. That's why I told you that I was absolutely confident of escaping."

He took a deep breath and said solemnly, "Brother Shi, I think the bureau should be able to use these two scrolls."

Shi Shaowei was so shocked his jaw almost dropped. It really was teleportation?!

This is more than just "something we should be able to use"! This is an absolute godsend!!

He stood up excitedly: "This is fantastic! These two items are absolutely priceless to the Bureau of the Supernatural!"

He began to dream: "Think about it, our men can escape immediately whenever they encounter danger! The more brothers we have, the more chances we have to survive!"

Xu Hao nodded: "That's right, so I think it's necessary to tell you."

Shi Shaowei patted Xu Hao on the shoulder: "You, now nicknamed the Little Ding-Dong of the Strange Bureau, don't care what you bring out. The importance of these two things is probably even greater than those pills."

Shi Shaowei changed his tone and said seriously, "On behalf of all the frontline personnel fighting against the supernatural, thank you! Xu Hao, every brother owes you! I'll say it again, as long as you don't stand against humanity, the Supernatural Management Bureau will be your strong support!"

Su Qing stood quietly to the side, listening to the conversation between Xu Hao and Shi Shaowei. Her gaze remained fixed on Xu Hao, her mind replaying the thrilling scenes from just moments before.

Xu Hao saved her life again, and at that moment she felt incredibly relieved and grateful. Then, she witnessed Xu Hao bravely rushing towards danger to buy everyone a chance to escape. These actions stirred something within Su Qing, as if something was quietly awakening within her.

Recalling the moment she desperately called out Xu Hao's name and resolutely decided to share life and death with him, Su Qing's heart involuntarily quickened. A warm current surged through her heart, and she felt that her feelings for Xu Hao seemed to have undergone a subtle change.

This feeling was both strange and familiar, leaving her somewhat at a loss. Su Qing lowered her head, trying to hide her slightly flushed cheeks. She secretly glanced at Xu Hao, a flutter rising in her heart, mixed with shyness and confusion.

This complex emotion left Su Qing somewhat bewildered; she wasn't sure if this was the feeling people often talked about. But one thing she was certain of was that Xu Hao's place in her heart had quietly changed.

Just a few days ago, I was a living corpse, devoid of joy and burdened by the expectations of too many people, unable to easily end my life. But after meeting Xu Hao for only a few days, everything seems different.

As the three were each lost in their own thoughts, the roar of car engines came from afar. Several black SUVs roared in, their wheels kicking up dust that formed long trails in the sunlight.

Zhao Miaomiao was the first to jump out of the lead vehicle. She was wearing a neat black combat uniform and her hair was tied up high. She walked quickly towards Xu Hao and the other two, directing them to start their work via walkie-talkie as she went.

"Captain, are you alright?" Zhao Miaomiao asked with concern, her gaze quickly sweeping over the three of them.

Meanwhile, the logistics staff scattered quickly, like a swarm of busy ants. Some set up cordons to seal off the entire area; others took out various instruments to survey and sample the site; still others were busy cleaning up the scene, carefully placing the remains of those strange creatures into specially made containers.

Less than ten minutes later, another convoy arrived in a grand procession. This time it was military personnel; their equipment was even better, and their movements were more swift and efficient. A burly officer strode over and saluted Shi Shaowei.

"Captain Shi, what's the situation?" the officer asked in a deep voice.

Shi Shaowei gave a brief account of the incident, and it seems he was quite familiar with the military officer.

The military's operation was swift and orderly. A convoy of dozens of buses entered Qingshan Village and stopped in an open area at the village entrance. Soldiers in camouflage uniforms quickly disembarked and split into groups to go door-to-door to notify the villagers.

"Attention villagers, due to a landslide in this area, we need to evacuate immediately for your safety. Please bring your essential personal belongings and assemble at the village entrance within 15 minutes." The announcement from the loudspeaker resounded throughout the village.

Although the villagers were panicked, they cooperated relatively well under the guidance of the soldiers. The elderly and children were given priority to board the vehicles, while the younger people helped carry some necessities. Military medical personnel set up a temporary medical station on site to provide basic physical examinations and psychological counseling to the frightened villagers.

Meanwhile, another team began setting up a cordon around the village. They erected warning signs that read "Danger Zone, No Entry" and set up roadblocks on the main roads. Some plainclothes workers began contacting local media to release press releases about the landslide.

As darkness fell, the villagers were gradually relocated to resettlement sites in nearby cities. Military engineering vehicles began to arrive, erecting tall fences around the village to isolate Qingshan Village from the outside world.

All of this was handled perfectly, but it no longer had much to do with the action team. Because Shi Shaowei had just received an urgent phone call.
