Legendary Person: I brought my skills back to reality!

Chapter 70 onwards, all beings are equal.

The shells whistled through the sky, falling like shooting stars. The moment the first shell hit the ground, a deafening explosion echoed through the valley. Soil and gravel shot into the air like a fountain, forming a massive mushroom cloud. Then, the second and third shells followed in quick succession, the explosions rising and falling like thunder, a roar that seemed to echo from the heavens.

Under the 155mm shell, all beings are equal.

The earth trembled violently from the bombing; trees were uprooted and boulders were shattered. Thick smoke obscured the sky, and flames soared into the heavens, turning the entire valley into a scene of purgatory.

Su Qing ran forward desperately, but every step was incredibly difficult. The shockwaves from the shells hitting the ground were like invisible giant hands, pushing her away time and time again. The scorching heat waves hit her in the face, almost knocking her over. Her ears were ringing, and her eyes were stinging from the thick smoke, causing them to water uncontrollably.

Even so, Su Qing gritted her teeth and stubbornly moved forward. However, the relentless artillery fire blocked her path, completely separating her from Xu Hao's possible location. She could only watch helplessly from a safe distance as the valley was plowed through by artillery fire again and again, her heart filled with pain and despair.

Su Qing knelt on the ground, her hands gripping the soil so tightly that her nails dug deep into it. Her body trembled uncontrollably, and tears streamed down her face like broken beads. "Xu Hao! No!" she cried out in anguish, her voice so weak amidst the roar of artillery fire.

Just then, a familiar voice came from the direction of Qingshan Village, piercing through the roar of artillery fire: "Su Qing! What are you standing there for?!"

Su Qing suddenly looked up, unable to believe her ears. She wiped her eyes, which were blurred by tears and smoke, and tried to look in the direction from which the sound came.

Xu Hao was standing at the village entrance, waving his hands frantically in the air. He continued shouting, "Quickly find a place to lie down and hide!"

Su Qing snapped out of her despair. She quickly got up and staggered toward the nearest boulder. Her legs ached from running for so long, but now they seemed to be infused with new strength.

Just as she was about to reach the boulder, another shell exploded nearby. The shockwave knocked her to the ground, but she immediately scrambled to her feet, taking a few final steps towards the boulder, pressing herself tightly against the rock surface, gasping for breath.

The military's fear of insufficient firepower seems incurable after all these years. A barrage of fire lasted a full ten minutes.

The roar gradually subsided, and the smoke slowly dissipated. Su Qing cautiously peeked out from behind the boulder, and the scene before her shocked her.

The once lush valley is now unrecognizable. Vast tracts of trees have been razed to the ground, leaving behind huge bomb craters. The exposed rock surfaces are covered with spiderweb-like cracks, some even shattered into pieces. The once winding stream has been diverted, struggling to flow through newly formed ravines.

The air was thick with the acrid smell of gunpowder, mixed with the scent of dirt and burnt wood. Scattered flames still crackled and burned in places. The ground was littered with blasted rubble and branches, resembling a devastated battlefield.

Su Qing slowly stood up, her feet sinking into the soft soil, the soft sound of stones scraping against each other echoing beneath her feet. She looked around and noticed that even the distant hillsides had changed; some parts of the mountain had been blasted away, forming new cliffs and valleys.

This intense bombardment, lasting a full ten minutes, not only destroyed everything in front of her but also completely altered the landscape of the entire valley. Su Qing couldn't help but marvel at the ferocity of the military's firepower, which far exceeded her expectations.

As the smoke cleared, Shi Shaowei squinted into the distance and suddenly spotted a familiar figure at the entrance of Qingshan Village. He rubbed his eyes hard, unable to believe what he was seeing. Wasn't that Xu Hao? Just moments ago, he was in the valley, his fate unknown; how could he suddenly appear several kilometers away?

Without thinking about the reasons, Shi Shaowei immediately ran towards the village entrance. His steps were unsteady, each step landing on the soft soil, with the sound of loose stones rolling under his feet.

At the same time, Su Qing also noticed Xu Hao's figure. She instantly forgot her fear and exhaustion, as if injected with new strength, and ran quickly towards Xu Hao. Her long hair fluttered in the wind, and her face was still covered with tears and dust.

Su Qing was the first to reach Xu Hao's side. She stopped, panting, and rested her hands on her knees, catching her breath. After calming down a bit, she immediately straightened up and ran her hands over Xu Hao's body, checking for any injuries.

"Are you alright? Are you hurt anywhere?" Su Qing asked anxiously, her voice trembling with tears. Her gaze swept over Xu Hao, afraid of missing any injury.

Just then, Shi Shaowei arrived, panting heavily. He was bent over, his hands on his knees, breathing heavily. After his breathing calmed down a bit, he looked up at Xu Hao with a puzzled expression.

Xu Hao, you're actually... alright?

"You...how did you...get here?" Shi Shaowei asked haltingly. "Weren't we just...in the valley?"

The three stood at the village entrance, with the valley destroyed by artillery fire behind them, and Xu Hao unharmed before them. This stark contrast left Shi Shaowei and Su Qing utterly bewildered.

Xu Hao didn't immediately answer Shi Shaowei and Su Qing's questions. Instead, he closed his eyes and silently cast a healing spell. A soft green light emanated from his palm, slowly flowing throughout his body. Several obvious abrasions and bruises faded at a visible speed, and Xu Hao's complexion gradually regained its rosy hue.

After completing the treatment, Xu Hao took a deep breath, opened his eyes, and said, "We'll talk about the rest later. Let's go check out the valley first."

The three men walked along the path, scarred by artillery fire, toward the valley. Along the way, they frequently stepped on gravel and branches, which crunched and splintered. The air was thick with the smell of gunpowder and scorched earth, making them cough.

Upon entering the valley, the scene before them was shocking. The once dense horde of zombies was gone, replaced by scattered limbs and charred corpses. Some zombies were blown to pieces, their internal organs scattered everywhere; others were charred by the intense heat, their flesh clinging tightly to their bones, emitting a nauseating stench.

In the center of the valley, they found the dying Corpse King. Its massive body had been torn apart by artillery fire, revealing its stark white bones. Its once imposing fangs were broken, leaving only a few shaky stumps. The Corpse King groaned weakly, its cloudy eyes reflecting pain and resentment.

Shi Shaowei crouched down, carefully observing his surroundings. He picked up a charred bone and said thoughtfully, "Firearms are generally ineffective against supernatural beings. But today we've encountered zombies. Zombies, after all, are just corpses transformed from the dead. What carbon-based life form isn't afraid of divine intervention?"

He stood up, looked around, and continued, "But if it's another kind of strange creature, like the one in the orphanage, artillery fire probably won't be as effective. Those kinds of beings that are completely beyond reason might not even be able to be dealt with by nuclear bombs."
