Chapter 114 A Terrifying Battle in the Primeval Forest
"Who?" Su Ming shouted, quickly drawing his weapon and chasing after the figure. His heart pounded, filled with vigilance and curiosity. Who was this figure? Why was he here? Was it related to the neglect of the Forestry Bureau, or did he have some other ulterior motive?
As he approached the depths of the Ghost Forest, the atmosphere grew increasingly eerie and terrifying. The thick fog obscured his vision, allowing him to vaguely make out a figure moving among the trees ahead. Su Ming quickened his pace, but also became more cautious, fearing he might fall into an ambush.
Suddenly, the figure vanished. Su Ming stopped and looked around, only to find himself in an unfamiliar area. The trees here were much taller and denser, their branches intertwined, almost completely blocking out the sunlight and making the ground dark. A putrid stench permeated the air, making him want to vomit.
"Damn it, I'm lost." Su Ming frowned, inwardly groaning. But he didn't panic; instead, he tried to calm himself and find his way back. He took out his compass to try and determine his location, but the compass was useless in this ghost forest. The needle kept spinning, as if interfered with by a mysterious force.
Just as Su Ming was in trouble, he suddenly heard a deep roar coming from behind him. He turned around abruptly and saw a huge black bear pouncing on him. This black bear was more than two people tall, covered in black fur, with red eyes and sharp fangs, looking extremely ferocious.
Su Ming reacted swiftly, dodging the black bear's attack by sidestepping. Simultaneously, he thrust his weapon towards the bear's head. Sensing the danger, the bear swung its massive paw, deflecting Su Ming's weapon, and then pounced on him again.
Knowing he couldn't fight the black bear head-on, Su Ming used the surrounding trees as cover, constantly dodging its attacks while searching for its weaknesses. After some maneuvering, he discovered that the bear's belly was one of its weak points.
"Now!" Su Ming seized the opportunity, leaped high into the air, and thrust his weapon, gleaming with a sharp light, fiercely into the black bear's belly.
The strike was precise and powerful. The black bear let out a painful roar as Su Ming's weapon pierced its abdomen, drawing blood. The bear's attacks slowed, but it did not fall; instead, it pounced on Su Ming even more frantically.
Seeing this, Su Ming quickly took a few steps back, keeping a safe distance from the black bear. He knew he had to find a way to deal with the bear as soon as possible, otherwise, once it recovered from its injuries, he would be in even greater danger.
Just then, Su Ming suddenly had an idea. He saw a big tree nearby, with a thick trunk and lush branches. He quickly ran to the tree and, using his agility, climbed up it.
The black bear saw Su Ming climb the tree and roared incessantly from below, trying to knock him down with its paws. But Su Ming, high above in the tree, was unaffected by the bear's attacks.
Su Ming rested briefly in the tree, catching his breath. He knew he couldn't stay there forever; he had to find a way to escape the black bear and find his way back. He looked around and spotted a stream not far away. An idea struck him.
Su Ming broke off a thick branch from the tree and tied one end tightly with a rope he carried with him. He threw the other end of the branch towards the stream, and the branch landed right on a tree on the opposite side of the stream, where it got stuck.
Su Ming carefully climbed across the "rope bridge" he had built to the other side of the stream. The black bear watched Su Ming's actions from under the tree. It tried to chase after him along the stream, but eventually gave up due to the rapid current.
Having successfully reached the other side of the stream, Su Ming finally escaped the black bear's pursuit. He continued along the stream, hoping to find a way out. After walking for a while, he finally saw a glimmer of light in the distance.
"Great! There's finally hope!" Su Ming was overjoyed. He quickened his pace and walked towards the light.
When he emerged from the Ghost Forest, it was already dusk. The afterglow of the setting sun bathed him in a long-lost warmth. He looked back at the eerie and terrifying Ghost Forest, secretly vowing to uncover its hidden secrets, find out why the Forest Protection Bureau had been abandoned, and discover the identity of the mysterious figure.
Dragging his weary body, Su Ming headed towards the town. He knew this was just the beginning; the road ahead was long, filled with unknowns and dangers…
The ancient and mysterious primeval forest, like a green labyrinth forgotten by time, exudes an ancient and mysterious aura in every inch of its land. Sunlight struggles to penetrate the layers of branches and leaves, casting dappled light that makes the forest appear even more secluded and tranquil. However, deep within this seemingly peaceful forest lies a chilling place—the land of the dead.
As Su Ming and his teammates stepped into the area, a chill swept over them, and the air was thick with a stench of decay that made them want to vomit. A thick fog enveloped them, severely obscuring their vision, as if an invisible hand were tightly enveloping them in this oppressive atmosphere. They proceeded cautiously, each step extremely careful, their hearts pounding as if they would leap out of their throats.
"What kind of place is this?" Baili Pangpang said in a trembling voice. He gripped the giant axe tightly in his hand, the veins on the back of his hand bulging. His eyes looked around warily, trying to see through the layers of mist and see the danger hidden in the darkness.
"Everyone be careful, the atmosphere here is very strange," Su Ming whispered a warning, a hint of seriousness in his eyes. As the team leader, he knew that the situation was extremely dangerous, and any negligence could have fatal consequences.
Just as everyone was on edge, a giant, blood-red ant suddenly burst out of the mist. This ant was enormous, more than two people tall, and exuded a strong stench of blood. Its exoskeleton was like a hard suit of armor, shimmering with a blood-red light. Its massive pincers swung in the air, making a chilling "crack" sound, as if declaring its territorial sovereignty to everyone.
The appearance of the giant ant caused panic among everyone, throwing them into disarray. Hongying was especially terrified, her face turning pale, her feet seemingly nailed to the ground, unable to move an inch. The giant ant seemed to sense Hongying's fear, locking its sights on her and charging towards her at incredible speed.
