Keyboard Warrior's Otherworldly Adventure

Chapter 85 The Interrupted Ambiguity

The knocking abruptly broke the ambiguous atmosphere in the room. Li Jin froze, breathing heavily, his eyes glazed. Sophie's eyelashes trembled slightly, the blush on her cheeks still lingering.

"Who is it?" Sophie's voice was slightly flustered as she quickly straightened her slightly disheveled clothes.

"It's me, Zhang Hao." Zhang Hao's voice came from outside the door, carrying a hint of barely perceptible tension.

Li Jin cursed under his breath; this fatso really came at the worst possible time. He released Sophie, trying to calm his erratic breathing. Sophie, meanwhile, kept her head down, not daring to look at Li Jin, silently fixing her hair.

"Come in." Li Jin tried to make his tone sound as natural as possible.

Zhang Hao pushed open the door and entered. Seeing the slightly awkward scene between the two, a knowing look flashed in his eyes, but he said nothing. He simply raised a metal box in his hand and said, "I've cracked the thing Lin Na left on you."

Li Jin took the box, opened it with a puzzled look, and inside was a black metal disc, emitting a faint magical fluctuation. "What is this?"

"Some kind of tracker, or rather... a time bomb." Zhang Hao's tone was unusually serious. "I just examined your body, and there's a strange energy inside you that's eroding your organs. This thing should be the culprit."

"A time bomb?" Li Jin exclaimed in surprise, quickly throwing the disc to the ground as if it were a hot potato. "What is this crazy woman trying to do?"

"I don't know, but this thing's energy fluctuations are very unstable; it could explode at any moment," Zhang Hao said, carefully using tweezers to pick up the disc and place it into a special container. "Luckily, I discovered it in time, otherwise..."

He didn't finish speaking, but both Li Jin and Su Fei understood the gravity of the consequences. Su Fei's face turned pale, and she gripped Li Jin's hand tightly in fear.

"Thanks, bro." Li Jin patted Zhang Hao on the shoulder, his heart filled with gratitude. This fatso may be unreliable most of the time, but he's dependable when it counts.

"It's nothing," Zhang Hao waved his hand, reverting to his usual playful demeanor. "But, brother, how far have things progressed for you just now... cough cough?" He winked at Li Jin and Su Fei, his face full of gossip.

Li Jin glared at him fiercely, "Get out!"

Zhang Hao laughed heartily, then tactfully left the room, making sure to close the door behind him.

The room fell silent again. Li Jin and Su Fei exchanged a glance, and the atmosphere became subtle once more. The ambiguous moment that had just been interrupted seemed to reignite, and a sense of tension and anticipation filled the air.

"Um..." Sophie broke the silence first, "Are you feeling any better?"

"Much better." Li Jin smiled and took Sophie's hand. "Thanks to you for showing up in time."

Sophie's hands were soft and warm, and Li Jin felt the restlessness in his heart gradually subside, replaced by a faint sweetness. He looked at Sophie, his eyes filled with tenderness.

Sophie looked at Li Jin, her eyes filled with a hint of shyness and longing. The two gazed at each other silently, as if time had stood still.

"Sophie..." Li Jin called her name softly, his voice low and hoarse.

Sophie's heart raced, she felt her cheeks getting hotter and hotter, and her breathing became rapid.

Li Jin slowly approached Su Fei, his breath spraying onto her face, sending a shiver down her spine.

"I..." Li Jin's voice trembled slightly. He wanted to say something, but he didn't know how to say it.

Just then, Li Jin's stomach suddenly made a loud "gurgling" sound.

The sudden sound shattered the romantic atmosphere in the room, and Sophie couldn't help but burst out laughing.

Li Jin awkwardly rubbed his stomach. "Sorry, I'm a little hungry."

Sophie smiled and said, "I'll go get you something to eat."

Li Jin nodded, watching Sophie's departing figure, his heart filled with helplessness. It seemed today was destined to be an eventful day.

Sophie had just reached the door when she suddenly seemed to remember something, turned back, and looked at Li Jin with a mischievous grin. "By the way, Li Jin, you just said you felt terrible. Are you still feeling terrible?"

Li Jin was stunned for a moment, then realized what he had done, and his face immediately turned bright red. He stammered, "I...I was..."

Sophie left the room with a smile before he could finish speaking, leaving Li Jin alone in the room, bewildered.

At this moment, the system's voice suddenly rang in Li Jin's mind: "Congratulations, host, you have obtained the achievement 'A Good Thing That Was Interrupted', and you are rewarded with 100 experience points."

Li Jin: "..."

He suddenly had an urge to smash the system.

Just then, a strange and sinister voice came from outside the door: "Li Jin, I know you're in there. Open the door!"
