The black energy, like a greedy beast, devoured Jack completely, leaving only a wisp of black smoke that emitted a nauseating sulfurous smell. A tense atmosphere filled the air; no one dared to breathe, as if what had just happened was nothing but a nightmare.

Li Jin slumped to the ground, staring at the spot where Jack had disappeared, his heart filled with mixed emotions. He never imagined that he would be outmaneuvered by a competitor in the real world, almost causing a major disaster.

"Jack, that idiot, went through all that trouble just to prove he's a loser?" Zhang Hao jumped out from the corner, plopped down next to Li Jin, and said with a hint of relief and sarcasm.

Li Jin rolled his eyes at him. "Where did you hide just now? If it weren't for Xiao Bai, I would have become material for your phone."

Zhang Hao scratched his head awkwardly. "Hehe, I was just afraid of disturbing your performance. But speaking of which, you were really scary when you turned evil, even scarier than the bugs I wrote while working overtime all night."

However, the guardian of the Moon Spirit Flower was a giant spider with eight eyes that gleamed with an eerie green light and dripped viscous venom from its mouth, making it a truly terrifying sight.

"Holy crap, that's a huge spider!" Zhang Hao's legs went weak with fear. "How much insecticide would it take to get rid of this thing?"

Li Jin drew his black longsword. "Enough talk, prepare for battle!"

Just then, a commotion arose from the other end of the valley, and a group of men in black emerged from the darkness, surrounding them.

"Looks like we're being followed," Li Jin sneered. "They're like a persistent ghost."

The leader of the men in black removed his mask, revealing a familiar face.

"Sophie?!" Li Jin exclaimed in surprise.
