Keyboard Warrior's Otherworldly Adventure
Chapter 408 Farewell
The goddess's radiance gradually diminished, and the suffocating divine pressure dissipated. She spoke slowly, her voice ethereal and distant: "Otherworldly being, your arrival has disrupted the balance of this realm. It is time to leave."
Li Jin hadn't recovered from the shock and subconsciously asked, "Leave? Go back where?"
The goddess didn't answer him directly; instead, she simply waved her hand, and a golden portal appeared out of thin air before them. Inside the portal, a familiar cityscape was faintly visible—skyscrapers, bustling traffic—the very world Li Jin had lived in before his transmigration.
Old Wang sighed, walked up to Li Jin, and patted him on the shoulder: "Child, your mission is complete. Go back. This world ultimately does not belong to you."
Li Jin felt a mix of emotions. Although he hadn't been in this world for long, he had already experienced and gained so much. He looked at Sophie and Xiao Mei beside him, a feeling of reluctance welling up inside him.
Sophie's eyes were slightly red, and she held back her tears as she said to Li Jin, "Thank you, Li Jin. Thank you for everything you've done for this world."
Xiao Mei stepped forward and gave Li Jin a big hug: "You big dummy, don't be so reckless again! I'll miss you!" Behind her, the little white beast Xiao Bai rubbed against Li Jin's leg reluctantly, making a low whimper.
Li Jin took a deep breath, trying to control his emotions: "Don't worry, I will come back." He knew that this might just be a wishful thinking, but as long as the system was still there, he would definitely have a chance to return to this world again.
He turned to the goddess and said firmly, "I will definitely come back!"
The goddess nodded slightly, saying nothing, but a barely perceptible smile flashed in her eyes.
Li Jin took one last look at this fantastical world before resolutely stepping through the portal.
After a dizzying spin, Li Jin found himself standing on a familiar street. The surrounding noise and car horns made him feel disoriented, as if everything he had just experienced was just a dream.
He took out his phone, glanced at the time, and realized that only a few hours had passed since he traveled through time.
"I'm back..." Li Jin murmured to himself, his heart filled with mixed emotions.
Suddenly, a soft body rushed into his arms, accompanied by a familiar fragrance.
"Li Jin! You're finally back! Do you know how worried I was about you!" Amy's voice was choked with tears as she hugged Li Jin tightly, as if afraid he would disappear again.
Li Jin was stunned for a moment, then hugged Amy tightly, feeling her warmth and softness. At that moment, he truly felt the feeling of home.
"I'm fine, I'm back." Li Jin gently patted Amy's back and comforted her softly.
The two embraced tightly, unwilling to part for a long time. Passersby turned to look, some casting curious glances, others offering knowing smiles.
After a long while, Amy finally looked up at Li Jin, her eyes brimming with tears: "Where did you go? Why did you suddenly disappear? I can't get through to you on the phone..."
Li Jin smiled and casually made up an excuse: "I went to participate in a secret research project, and my phone was blocked, so I can't be contacted."
Amy looked at him with a skeptical expression: "Really?"
"Of course it's true. When have I ever lied to you?" Li Jin pinched Amy's nose and said affectionately.
Amy then stopped crying and laughed, playfully punching Li Jin: "You're so mean! You made me worry for so long!"
The two walked hand in hand down the street in the sunset, and everything seemed to have returned to its original beauty.
However, Li Jin knew that some things had changed. He was no longer the keyboard warrior who only typed on the internet; he had experienced adventures in another world, gained immense power, and acquired a broader perspective.
“Amy, I have something to tell you…” Li Jin stopped and looked at Amy intently.
"What's wrong?" Amy looked at him in confusion.
Li Jin took a deep breath, just as he was about to tell Amy about the other world, when suddenly his phone rang.
It was Zhang Hao calling.
"Hey, Zhang Hao, what's up?" Li Jin answered the phone.
"Li Jin, something terrible has happened! Jack... Jack he..." Zhang Hao's voice was filled with panic and fear.
"What's wrong with Jack? Tell me slowly." A bad feeling welled up in Li Jin's heart.
“Jack… he seems to… have also obtained a time-travel system…” Zhang Hao said haltingly, “He… is no longer human…”
