Keyboard Warrior's Otherworldly Adventure

Chapter 12 The Cold Glimpse of a Dagger

Li Jin stared at the pink bunny costume, his lips twitching slightly. "Are you serious? Pink? Bunny?"

Zhang Hao chuckled, revealing a set of bright white teeth. "Brother, this is called strategic camouflage! Think about it, who would expect a guy infiltrating the palace to be dressed as a rabbit? This is called surprise attack!"

"I'll prepare your head!" Li Jin threw the bunny costume back at him. "Quickly tell me how to use the cloak."

Zhang Hao cleared his throat and began his explanation. "The principle behind this cloak is a bit complicated. Simply put, it uses light refraction and bio-current interference to achieve visual invisibility. Do you see this button? Pressing it activates the invisibility function, and pressing it again deactivates it. However, be aware that this thing consumes a lot of power and can only last for a maximum of one hour. Also, it's not very effective at concealing metal objects, so try to avoid wearing metal items."

"An hour?" Li Jin frowned. "Is that enough?"

"That should be enough. No matter how big the palace is, an hour should be enough for you to find Princess Sophie," Zhang Hao said somewhat uncertainly. "If all else fails, you can wear a bunny costume and pretend to be a palace pet; maybe you can sneak in."

Li Jin glared at him but said nothing more. He put on his cloak, pressed a button, and his figure indeed disappeared into thin air.

"Holy crap, it really did become invisible!" Zhang Hao exclaimed, circling the empty space a few times. "Bro, where are you?"

"Shut up!" Li Jin's voice came from the void. "Could you please keep your voice down?"

"Hehe, I'm so excited, so excited!" Zhang Hao lowered his voice. "How are you feeling? Is there anything uncomfortable?"

"Not yet." Li Jin's voice sounded a little muffled. "It just feels a bit chilly, like I'm not wearing any clothes."

"Normal, normal! To become invisible, you have to sacrifice something." Zhang Hao said this nonsense with a straight face.

Li Jin ignored him and began to familiarize himself with the cloak's operation. He tried walking, jumping, and even throwing punches, and it felt pretty good, except that it was a bit difficult to judge distances while invisible, making it easy to bump into things.

"Brother, are you ready? We're about to set off!" Zhang Hao's voice rang out again.

"Wait a minute." Li Jin suddenly remembered something, "The surveillance system you mentioned earlier..."

"Don't worry, I've got it all sorted out!" Zhang Hao proudly waved a small device in his hand. "This is a specially made signal jammer that can block all the palace's surveillance equipment, guaranteeing you unimpeded access!"

"I hope so." Li Jin took a deep breath and walked towards the palace.

As night fell, the palace was brightly lit. Li Jin, cloaked in invisibility, silently infiltrated the palace. With the jamming device provided by Zhang Hao, he easily bypassed all the surveillance cameras and patrolling guards.

The interior of the palace was even more luxurious than he had imagined, resplendent and magnificent. Following the route on the map, Li Jin stealthily made his way to the vicinity of Princess Sophie's bedroom.

However, just as he was about to approach the palace, he suddenly heard a faint sound of footsteps. He quickly hid behind a pillar and held his breath.

A figure dressed in black appeared in the corridor, holding a gleaming dagger. The man in black looked around warily, seemingly searching for something.

Li Jin's heart tightened. Could it be someone sent by Lin Na? He stared intently at the man in black, ready to make a move at any moment.

The man in black stopped at the entrance to Princess Sophie's bedroom. He gently pushed open the door and slipped inside.

Li Jin hesitated for a moment, then quietly followed them inside.

The room was pitch black, with only a faint moonlight streaming in through the window. Li Jin could vaguely make out a figure lying on the bed; it was Princess Sophie.

The man in black walked to the bedside, raised his dagger, and pointed it at Princess Sophie's chest...
